Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate an easy working at the milli-wave band with low loss by using the resonance mode of the over-sized resonant cavity as one mode of the double-mode resonance. CONSTITUTION:The resonance modes within 1st and 2nd resonant cavity 7 and 8 are TE111 of the basic mode and TM011 resonance mode which is a type of the resonance mode of the over-sized resonant cavity. The electromagnetic wave of TE111 is excited within cavity 7 through input part 5 of square waveguide 2 and then combined to TM011 with insertion of coupling screw A9. Conductor plate 4 containing coupling hole 6 is provided between cavity 7 and 8, and only the electromagnetic wave of TM011 is combined to cavity 8, to TE111 via coupling screw B10 and to waveguide 2 via coupling hole A5. The electromagnetic wave of TM011 is reflected by conductor plate A3. At the same time, an adjustment is given via frequency adjuster screw 11 so that a coincidence is obtained for the resonance frequency between TE111 and TM011 at cavity 7 and 8, thus the resonance cavity type BPF turning to the double-mode resonant filter.
