Abstract

1,247,936. Microwave filters. TELEFUNKEN PATENTVERWERTUNGS G.m.b.H. 10 Nov., 1969 [12 Dec., 1968], No. 54856/69. Heading H1W. A band-stop filter comprises a waveguide coupled to a cavity having two modes of resonance at two different frequencies. As shown, annular cavity 3 resonates in the H 012 and H 013 modes and is coupled to a circular waveguide 1 by means of a circumferential slot 2. The band-stop is determined by the spacing of the resonant frequencies and this varies with the width of the slot which determines the coupling. The coupling slot need not be central. A modification is described in which a further annular cavity surrounding the cavity 3 and coupled thereto is employed (Fig. 4, not shown).
