  2. Machine according to Claim 1, characterised in that the said folding cylinder (30) has two stops (49B, 49A) limiting the travel of the engaging blade (37A, 37B) and corresponding respectively to the protruding position and the retracted position.
  3. Machine according to Claim 2, characterised in that the blade (37A, 37B) is connected to a mechanism including an elastic member (51A, 51B) and affording between the said stops (49A, 49B) a configuration in which the said elastic member (51A, 51B) is compressed to the maximum possible extent and on each side of which the elastic member (51A, 51B) pushes the mechanism steadily towards one of the said stops (49A, 49B).
  4. Machine according to either one of Claims 2 or 3, characterised in that the stop (49B) corresponding to the protruding position is adjustable.
  5. Machine according to any one of Claims 1 to 4, characterised in that the said cylinder (30) has means for immobilising (52) the blade (37A, 37B) by clamping in order to maintain it in the protruding position or retracted position.
  6. Machine according to any one of Claims 1 to 5, characterised in that the said folding cylinder (30) has several engaging blades (37A, 37B), each able to move between the said protruding position and the said retracted position, and a coupling device (38A, 41A, 42A, 43, 42B, 41B, 38B) between the said blades (37A, 37B) in order to move them simultaneously from the protruding position to the retracted position and vice-versa.
  7. Machine according to Claim 6, characterised in that the said coupling device (38A, 41A, 42A, 43, 42B, 41B, 38B) has,
    - for each engaging blade (37A, 37B), a shaft (38A, 38B) articulated on the cylinder (30) along an axis (39A, 39B) parallel to the rotation axis (40) of the cylinder (30), on which shaft (39A, 39B) is mounted the said blade (37A, 37B) which is able to move between the said protruding and retracted positions through rotation of the said shaft (38A, 38B);
    - for each shaft (38A, 38B), a lever (41A, 41B) carrying a roller (42A, 42B) at one end and fixed to the shaft (38A, 38B) at the other end;
    - a collar (43) articulated on the cylinder (30) along the rotation axis (40) of the cylinder (30) and having, for each lever (41A, 41B), a radially oriented fork joint (44A, 44B) in which the roller (42A, 42B) of the lever (41A, 41B) is slidably engaged.
  8. Machine according to Claim 7, characterised in that the cylinder (30) has two stops (49B, 49A) limiting the travel of the said collar (43) and corresponding respectively to the protruding position and the retracted position of the said blades (37A, 37B).
  9. Machine according to Claim 8, characterised in that the said coupling device (38A, 41A, 42A, 43, 42B, 41B, 38B) affords, between the said stops (49A, 49B), a configuration in which the roller (42A, 42B) of a lever (41A, 41B) is as close as possible to the collar (43), and has a spring (51A, 51B) disposed between the collar (43) and the said roller (42A, 42B).
  10. Machine according to any one of Claims 7 to 9, characterised in that at least one of the said shafts (38A, 38B) is mounted on a split bearing including a screw (52) for clamping the bearing in order to immobilise the shaft (38A, 38B) with respect to rotation.
  11. Machine according to any one of Claims 7 to 10, characterised in that at least one of the said shafts (38A, 38B) has an engagement means (53, 54) for a control element intended to cause it to rotate in order to move the blade (37A, 37B) from the protruded position to the retracted position or vice-versa.
  12. Machine according to Claim 11, characterised in that the said engagement means is a prismatic boss (53) situated at the end of the shaft (38A, 38B), the said control element being a key.
  13. Machine according to Claim 11, characterised in that the said engagement means is a cam (54) with two opposite sloping profiles (55A, 55B) fixed to the end of the shaft (38A, 38B), the said control element including: a V-shaped lever (56) articulated at its apex on a shaft (57) fixed to the frame whilst each end opposite to the apex carries a roller (58A, 58B), two stops (59A, 59B) between which the lever (56) is able to move and corresponding respectively to the said retracted position or the said protruding position, one of the rollers (58A, 58B) acting, during a rotation of the cylinder, on one of the profiles (55A, 55B) of the cam (54) to cause the shaft to rotate to the desired position if it is not there, and means for controlling the lever.
  14. Machine according to Claim 13, characterised in that the said means for controlling the lever include an actuator (60).
  15. Machine according to Claim 13, characterised in that the said means for controlling the lever include a rod.
  16. Machine according to any one of Claims 1 to 15, characterised in that the said cylinder has two diametrically opposite engaging blades (37A, 37B).
