Description

The invention relates to a door arrester for motor vehicle doors, consisting of a pivotally attached door support rod with at least one double-sided thickening and a two cylindrical roller rolling elements rolling on the two broad sides of the door support rod, which are penetrated by the door support rod and attached to the door, in which the brake roller bodies are mounted so as to be movable against a spring load essentially transversely to the plane of movement of the door holding rod, the brake roller bodies being accommodated in cage-like holders in recesses aligned parallel to the plane of movement of the door holder rod such that they extend over the recesses of the recesses in the region of their overlap with the door holder rod push through in the holders and only at their end regions lying outside in relation to the door holding rod over the major part of their circumference in the recesses the cage-like holders are rotatably mounted and the cage-like holders are supported by spring-elastic means against the wall surfaces inclined to the plane of movement of the door holding rod or the cover surfaces of the holder housing.

Such door locks for motor vehicle doors are known from DE-PS 27 02 731 and the associated DE-PS 29 44 766. In these known types of door locks, the brake rolling elements are formed by cylindrical rollers with end faces oriented essentially perpendicular to their axes and are furthermore the sections of the recesses in the holders forming the bearing of the brake rolling elements are open towards the two end faces of the holder and are designed such that they encompass the brake rolling elements to the majority of their circumference in order to enable automatic pre-assembly of the brake rolling elements in the holders. First of all, that within the holder without any guidance in the axial direction of the brake roller, due to the installation conditions of the door lock in the standard vehicle body and the resulting occasional, albeit slight tilting between the door support rod and the axes of rotation of the brake roller, during the operation of the Walk the door arrester in the axial direction and then scrub on the side walls of the holder housing, which causes abrasion, especially on the housing walls made of unhardened material, which necessarily settles in the bearings of the brake rolling elements encompassing the majority of their circumference and destroys the bearing surfaces. At the same time, the abrasion of the brake rolling elements on the holder housing side walls naturally also produces noises which are highly undesirable.

The invention is therefore based on the object of further improving a door arrester of the type described at the outset in such a way that, despite automatic pre-assembly of the brake roller bodies designed as cylinder bodies, chafing of the brake roller bodies on the side walls of the holder housing is excluded, as is deposition of abrasion and dirt in the bearings the brake roller inside the holder.

This object is achieved essentially in that, in conjunction with a spherical design of the end faces of the brake roller bodies, the recesses receiving the brake roller bodies in the holders are overlapped by side walls of the holder which are oriented parallel to the side walls of the holder housing, the inner surfaces facing the end faces of the brake roller bodies the side walls of the holder have an outward bulge directed toward the side walls of the holder housing, the radius of curvature of which is greater than the radius of curvature of the spherical front ends of the brake roller bodies and wherein on the holders in In connection with the circumference of the brake roller bodies, means for retaining the brake roller bodies in the region of their predetermined position are provided which act to hold up only half of their bearing surfaces. As a result, not only can a direct abrasion of the ends of the brake roller bodies on the side walls of the holder housing, but also a wear-through of the wall parts of the holder be reliably excluded. It is therefore entirely possible, and in the interest of simplifying production, that the holders on the two sections of the width of the bearing comprising the brake rolling elements then have side walls that extend through their entire height.

According to an essential feature of the invention it is provided that on the holders in connection with the circumference of the brake roller bodies, only a maximum of up to half of the bearing surfaces encompassing retaining means for holding the brake roller bodies in their predetermined position are provided. The radially directed projections or lugs, which can be designed as a type of clip lugs, merely have the task of securing the brake roller bodies against falling out until they are finally installed in the holder housing in the holders. This arrangement also ensures, in conjunction with an automatic pre-assembly of the brake roller bodies, the possibility of designing the bearings of the brake roller bodies in the holders in such a way that deposition of abrasion or dirt and the like is completely ruled out in the area of the bearing surfaces of the brake roller bodies and the door stop therefore overall has a higher fatigue strength.

In a further embodiment of this feature of the invention it is further provided that the restraining means are formed by projections or noses which protrude inwards with respect to the recesses receiving the brake roller bodies and are arranged radially to the recess sections in the holders supporting the brake roller bodies. The too the recesses which receive the brake roller bodies and which protrude radially inwards or Lugs are expediently arranged on the outside in relation to the bearings of the brake rolling elements. Furthermore, the arrangement and design of the projections or lugs with the advantage of a certain transverse elasticity of the holder as a whole is expediently made such that the radially inwardly projecting projections or lugs with the wall parts of the holder that overlap the end faces of the brake rolling elements each have a frustoconical partial annular space lock in.

Finally, it is provided in a further embodiment of the invention that the recess sections forming the bearing for the brake rolling elements in the holders are extended to the side thereof directed towards the door holding rod and that the projections or noses projecting radially inwards and arranged in connection with the bearing surfaces for the brake rolling elements a radially to this directed distance to the intended operating position of the axes of rotation of the brake rolling elements are arranged on the holder. Since the radially inward projections or lugs only have the task of holding the brake rolling elements in their pre-assembled position in the holders, but the operating position of the brake rolling elements results automatically when the holder is installed in the holder housing, in this way the greatest possible freedom of the brake rolling elements with regard to the setting of their axis of rotation to the position of the plane of movement of the door holding rod and also with regard to self-cleaning of the bearing surfaces.

The door arrester shown in the exemplary embodiment essentially consists of a door support rod 1 which is attached to a door pillar (also not shown) and which is provided with a double-sided bulge 2 via a pivot bearing (not shown in detail) about an axis parallel to the hinge axis of the door. The door holding rod 1 passes through a holder housing which is fixed to the front wall of a vehicle door (not shown in detail) and is generally designated by 3 and consists of a pot-shaped housing body 4 and a cover 5 which closes the open side thereof. The cover 5 is fastened to the housing body 4 by means of folded flaps 8 and is provided with a slot recess 9 which, in conjunction with a slot recess 10 in the holder housing base 11 of the door holding rod, enables passage through the holder housing. On both sides of the door support rod 1, brake roller bodies formed by cylindrical rollers 12 made of hardened steel are arranged in the holder housing 3 and are rotatably supported in cage-shaped holders 13. The holders 13 are designed as sliding blocks and are slidably supported on the side walls of the holder housing 4 in such a way that they can perform a sliding movement directed at an angle to the plane of movement of the door holding rod 1, which causes the brake rolling elements 12 to be adjusted essentially perpendicular to the door holding rod. The front ends 14 of the rollers forming the brake rolling elements 12 are spherical and of one piece with the body formed side walls 15 of the holder 13 overlapped. The side walls 15 of the holders 13 have on their inner surface 16 a bulge directed outwards towards the side walls 4 of the holder housing, the radius of curvature of which is greater than the radius of curvature of the spherical ends 14 of the brake roller bodies 12. Outside their area of coverage with the door holding rod 1 the brake roller bodies 12 are rotatably supported in the holders 13 via bearings 17, the bearings having only a maximum of half the circumference of the brake roller bodies encompassing bearing surfaces 18 and basically recesses in the holders 13 which are approximately V-shaped and open towards the door holding rod 1. In order to ensure that the bearings 17 secure the roller rolling elements 12 against falling out after their automatic pre-assembly in the holders 13, projections or noses 19 projecting radially inwards on the holders 13 on both sides and with respect to the bearings 17 are formed on the outside. The projections or lugs 19 are arranged in such a way that they allow the brake roller bodies 12 to move parallel to the intended operating position of the axes of rotation of the brake roller bodies and perpendicular to the bearing surfaces. In the axial direction, the projections or lugs 19 are essentially wedge-shaped, such that they each form an essentially frustoconical partial annular space 20 with the inner surfaces of the side walls 15 of the holders.
