Definitions
- sanitary fittings that can endanger the quality of drinking water by sucking back dirty water.
- These include, in particular, bathtubs / shower mixers with a hose shower or washbasin and sink fittings with a pull-out hose shower.
- Fittings of this type must have safety devices which can reliably prevent the back suction of contaminated water into the drinking water.
- safety devices regularly include a pipe interrupter or aerator.
- a pipe interrupter of the type mentioned is from DIN 3266, July 1966; Figure 2, known.
- a connector is provided coaxially to the water inlet channel in the chamber of the housing, through which radial throughflow opening are passed through for the water.
- An outer wall is provided coaxially to the wall of this nozzle, which contains the openings for the admission of air.
- the elastic closing member is designed as a hollow cylindrical part, which rests against the inner connection piece without water flow and closes the water flow openings, at the same time exposing the air openings. As soon as there is excess pressure in the inlet channel, this presses the hollow cylindrical closing member radially outward, so that on the one hand the water path into the chamber is opened and on the other hand the air supply via the radial ventilation openings is blocked.
- the object of the present invention is to design a pipe interrupter of the type mentioned at the outset in such a way that it can scarcely be implemented with little effort on a very small scale and is particularly suitable for installation in a sanitary fitting.
- a pipe interrupter according to the invention can be easily installed in the floor area of a sanitary fitting due to its small dimensions.
- the responsiveness of the roll membrane is great, since only relatively small forces are required to turn it over and elastic expansion does not need to take place.
- the sanitary fitting shown in Figure 1 comprises, in a known manner, a fitting body 1, a rotatable and pivotable operating lever 2 and an extendable spout mouthpiece 3.
- the latter is via a shower hose 3 placed in a loop, which is partly inside the fitting body 1 and partly through the Hole of the wash basin to be thought below the sanitary fitting is connected to the outlet pipe 5.
- the outlet pipe 5 is fastened in a bottom part 6, which rests on an inner step of the fitting body 1.
- the base part 6 carries a control cartridge 7, which can be constructed in a known manner and in which the control elements required for controlling the water flow or the water flows are combined. These controls are moved in a suitable manner by means of the handle 2.
- Two inlet pipes 8 for cold or warm water also extend through the hole in the washbasin and into the fitting body 1 from below. They penetrate the base part 6 and communicate in a known manner with the control cartridge 7.
- a bore 15 is guided through the valve body 1 concentrically to the ring part 21; which part of a ventilation path for the pipe interrupter 13, as will become clear later.
- Another channel 11 leads from the pipe interrupter 13 to the outlet pipe 5.
- the pipe interrupter 13 which is shown installed in the fitting in FIG. 1, is drawn out in FIG. 2 on an enlarged scale and in section.
- a chamber 10 is formed in a housing 22 of the pipe interrupter 13.
- a channel 14a which is part of the ventilation path and communicates with the bore 15 in the valve body 1, opens into this, from the left in the drawing.
- a channel 9a opens into the chamber 10 on the opposite side, which is connected to the channel 9 in the base part 6 and is part of the water path between the control cartridge 7 and the outlet pipe 5.
- another channel 11a opens parallel to the channel 9a, somewhat below it, which is connected to the outlet channel 11 in the base part 6 and thus to the outlet pipe 5.
- the chamber 10 is in by a rolling membrane 16, which is fixed at its periphery in the housing 22 divided into two chambers 10a and 10b.
- the rolling membrane 16 lies against the mouth of the channel 14a into the chamber 10 in its central region and thus closes the ventilation path.
- the opening of the channel 9a into the chamber 10, on the other hand, is open, so that the water flow from the control cartridge 7 to the outlet mouthpiece 3 is free.
- the rolling membrane 16 turns upside down in such a way that - as indicated by dash-dotted lines in FIG. 2 - it lifts off the mouth opening of the channel 14a and bears against the mouth opening of the channel 9a. This clears the air path from the channel 14a into the left half of the chamber 10a in FIG. From there, the air can flow through a flow opening 20 in the edge region of the rolling membrane 16 into the right half 10b of the chamber 10 in FIG. 2 and from there into the channel 11a and the downstream flow paths.
- the rolling membrane 16 at the mouth of the channel 9a at the same time blocks the backflow of water from the downstream water path, so that contamination of the drinking water by sucked-in, dirty process water is impossible.

Abstract
A pipe interrupter, which is particularly suitable for installation in a sanitary fitting (1), comprises in a housing (22) a chamber (10) into which a water inlet channel (9), a water outlet channel (11) and a ventilation path (15) open. In the chamber (10) there is a rolling membrane (16) which is fixed on the peripheral area. Normally, as long as there is no negative pressure in the inlet channel, the rolling membrane (16) lies in the middle at the mouth of the ventilation path (15) into the chamber, so that on the one hand no atmospheric air can enter and on the other hand no water can escape. However, if a negative pressure develops in the line system (8), which is connected to the inlet channel (9), the rolling membrane (16) is turned inside out so that it now on the opposite side of the central area, the mouth of the inlet channel (9) closes in the chamber (10). On the other hand, a ventilation path to the chamber (10) is released. This ventilation path continues through a flow opening (20) in the edge region of the rolling membrane (16) to the outlet channel (11). In this way, water can no longer flow back into the inlet channel (9) and to the line system connected to it; on the other hand, the water paths downstream of the chamber (10) are aerated.

As is well known, there are sanitary fittings that can endanger the quality of drinking water by sucking back dirty water. These include, in particular, bathtubs / shower mixers with a hose shower or washbasin and sink fittings with a pull-out hose shower. Fittings of this type must have safety devices which can reliably prevent the back suction of contaminated water into the drinking water. Such safety devices regularly include a pipe interrupter or aerator.
A pipe interrupter of the type mentioned is from DIN 3266, July 1966; Figure 2, known. An outer wall is provided coaxially to the wall of this nozzle, which contains the openings for the admission of air. However, this known pipe interrupter ("
The object of the present invention is to design a pipe interrupter of the type mentioned at the outset in such a way that it can scarcely be implemented with little effort on a very small scale and is particularly suitable for installation in a sanitary fitting.
- da) im Umfangsbereich festgehalten ist;
- db) im mittleren Bereich ohne Unterdruck im Zulaufkanal an der Mündung des Belüftungswegs in die Kammer elastisch anliegt;
- dc) sich beim Auftreten eines Unterdrucks im Zulaufkanal umstülpt und dann an der Mündung des Zulauf kanals in die Kammer an liegt;
- d) the elastic closing member is designed as a rolling membrane, the
- da) is held in the peripheral area;
- db) rests elastically in the middle area without negative pressure in the inlet channel at the mouth of the ventilation path into the chamber;
- dc) if an underpressure occurs inside the inlet channel and then at the mouth of the inlet channel lies in the chamber;
- dd) has a through-flow opening in the edge area outside the central area, through which air can flow in the case of dc) from the ventilation path to the drainage channel.
A pipe interrupter according to the invention can be easily installed in the floor area of a sanitary fitting due to its small dimensions. The responsiveness of the roll membrane is great, since only relatively small forces are required to turn it over and elastic expansion does not need to take place.

- Figure 1: the side view of a sanitary fitting with built-in pipe interrupter, partly in section;
- Figure 2 shows a section through the pipe interrupter of Figure 1 on an enlarged scale.
The sanitary fitting shown in Figure 1 comprises, in a known manner, a fitting body 1, a rotatable and
The mixed water released by the

If a negative pressure now occurs in the
The rolling
