Description

The invention relates to a washing method for a program-controlled drum washing machine with control means for the speed adjustment of the drive motor and a laundry drum rotatably mounted in a tub, which has at least one drum rib in its interior, the drum rib being formed with water outlet openings and water inlet openings, such that the drum rib an effective scooping effect occurs in both directions of rotation of the drum during washing operation and that cycles of higher and lower drum speeds can be set during the washing cycle.

The specified washing process is intended on the one hand to achieve thorough mixing of the laundry in the higher speed range (mechanics) and on the other hand to intensively moisten or flood the item of laundry and at the same time to save energy and water.

Various proposals are known which aim to improve the washing effect in washing machines which work with low water levels. From DE-OS 33 24 481 it is known, for example, to work at a lower rate of moisture penetration at the beginning of the wash cycle for better moisture penetration of the laundry and to gradually increase this drum speed in the course of the wash cycle. This ensures that the laundry is moistened faster and better at the beginning of the wash cycle.

Furthermore, DE-OS 37 12 118 describes a drum washing machine with drum ribs designed in a manner known per se as scoops. These scoops or drum ribs are intended to support the moistening of the laundry by taking wash liquor with them at a lower speed at the beginning of the wash cycle and letting them trickle onto the laundry from above.

In both of the above-mentioned drum washing machines, the dampening of the laundry is only promoted at the beginning of the washing process.

The invention is therefore based on the object of designing a washing process for a program-controlled drum washing machine in such a way that the washing action and the utilization of the detergents are improved and at the same time the process is energy and water-saving.
This object is achieved by the features of claim 1, characterized in that there is a constant change of higher and lower washing speed during the entire wash cycle
Advantageous refinements and developments of the invention result from the following claims.

The advantages that can be achieved with the invention are, in particular, that washing is carried out at the start of the wash cycle at a higher speed and a lower speed in the course of a switch-on period of the drive motor. As a result, good detergent dissolution and optimum laundry moisture are achieved right at the start of the wash cycle. In the further course of the washing program, the constant alternation between high and low speed results in a thorough mixing of the laundry with an optimal washing effect on the one hand and a good washing flow on the other. The temporary attitude The lower speed in the course of the entire washing cycle favors the scooping effect of the drum rib and the intensive washing flow.

An embodiment of the invention is shown in the drawing and is explained in more detail below.

The drawing shows a speed diagram with a speed gradation in the switch-on periods of the drive motor.

A gradual change in the drum speed takes place within the switch-on period of the drive motor. The drum is first accelerated to the increased speed n1 and after a period of z. B. 2 to 6 seconds driven at the lower speed n2. The speed n1 is preferably in a range from 50 to 60 min⁻¹ and the speed n2 in a range from 35 to 45 min⁻¹. The drum is driven in reverse mode during the wash cycle. The drum diameter is in a range from 430 to 500 mm. In the example shown, the drum is driven for about 5 to 6 seconds (t1) at a speed of 55 min⁻¹ and then for about 5 to 6 seconds (t2) at a speed of 40 min⁻¹. Then there is a 4-second pause (t3) before the next switch-on period takes place with a changed direction of rotation but the same time periods. The flow-through speed phase n2 = 40 min⁻¹ is followed by a pause, during which the lye can act on the laundry as in a soaking process. In the next switch-on period of the drive motor, the drum speed is set again to the higher speed n1 = 55 min⁻¹ in order to loosen the dirt from the fiber of the textile and wash it away with the washing speed. To protect the laundry, the user can select a gentle cycle, in which then shorter switch-on times and longer breaks in the Drive motor can be set. In gentle cycle z. B. during the switch-on period of the drive motor first set the speed of 55 min⁻¹ for a time of 3 seconds and then the lower speed of 40 min⁻¹ for 3 seconds. After a pause of 9 seconds, the next switch-on period follows with changed direction of rotation.

The washing process described above is used in washing programs with and without prewash.
For washing programs with a pre-wash cycle, e.g. B. the prewash cycle can be operated essentially with the lower drum speed of n2 = 40 min⁻¹ in the reverse rhythm for better washing moisture. At the end of the prewash cycle, the drum is driven for a short period of time at the stepped speed n1 / n2 according to claim 1 in order to detach the dirt from the fiber. In the main wash cycle, the drum is driven only at a stepped speed n1 / n2.
