Abstract

The discharger armature, which is used especially for shower bottoms, consists of a housing (7) provided with an inflow opening, a discharge socket (22) and a fastening flange (6) and of an immersion pipe (15) inserted into the housing and delimiting the inflow opening. The housing (7) contains an outer annular channel (19) and an upper discharge channel (21). The fastening flange (6) of the housing, which is fixed to the edge of a base opening (2) in the shower bottom, is arranged offset downwards with respect to the upper housing wall (13), which delimits the upper discharge channel (21). The bottom (20) of the outer annular channel (19) is inclined towards the discharge socket (22). As a result of this inclination of the bottom of the outer annular channel, in the case of a large flow cross-section of the annular channel, on the one hand, the discharging capacity is improved and, on the other hand, self-cleaning of the discharger armature is achieved. The discharger armature has a low overall height and a high throughput capacity. <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to a drain fitting, preferably for shower trays, consisting of a housing provided with an inflow opening, an outlet connection and a fastening flange and an immersion tube inserted into the housing and delimiting the inflow opening and forming part of an odor trap, the housing forming the odor trap encompassing drain channel.

Such a drain fitting is known from an operational state of the art. With this drain fitting, the mounting flange forms the upper edge of the housing. An insert is screwed into the housing, which likewise has a fastening flange on the upper edge and is provided on the inside with an annular surface in the upper edge region, on which an annular flange of the dip tube is supported. The case bottom is flat.

A drain fitting is also known (DE-A-2837967), which is provided with an upper and a lateral inlet, with an inlet pipe being assigned to each inlet. The housing, which is provided with a flat bottom, consists of a lower part equipped with a lateral outlet connection and a rotatable upper part. The upper part of the housing is equipped with an annular flange which is aligned with the upper housing wall and which is provided with an insertion opening for a dip tube.

The invention has for its object to design a drain fitting of the type mentioned so that a high throughput is achieved with a low overall height.

This object is achieved according to the invention by the features of the characterizing part of claim 1 in cooperation with the features of the preamble.

Due to the inventive arrangement of the mounting flange, which is supported by a sealing ring on the lower boundary surface of a circular recess of the tub, the upper part of the housing and thus also part of the drainage channel protrudes into the recess of the tub, which is formed by a conical edge strip of the tub body is limited. The arrangement of the upper housing part of the drain fitting within the recess of the tub gives the drain channel a relatively large flow cross-section, although at the same time the overall height of the drain fitting below the shower tray is kept small.

Due to the inclination of the bottom of the drain channel, the drain performance is improved on the one hand with a large flow cross section of the drain channel and on the other hand self-cleaning of the drain fitting is achieved.

The floor can be sloped with a 20 percent.

Further features of the invention emerge from the subclaims. An embodiment of the drain fitting according to the invention is shown in the drawing and is described below.

The bottom 1 of a shower tray is provided with a round recess 2 for draining the shower water, which is delimited by a conical edge strip 3. On the lower surface 4 of this edge strip a sealing ring 5 is supported, which is carried by a mounting flange 6 which is integral with a housing 7 of a drain fitting.

The outer edge of a flange ring 10, which is fixed to the housing 7 by means of two fastening screws 11, is supported on the inclined surface 9 of the edge strip 3.

For this purpose, the housing has threaded bushings 12, which start from openings in the upper housing wall 13 and into which the fastening screws 11 are screwed.

The upper housing wall is provided with a central opening 14 into which a dip tube 15 is inserted, which is supported with its upper ring part 16 on an inner flange 17 of the housing. This dip tube 15 forms with the cylindrical housing part 18 the odor trap.

Through the odor trap, the shower water flows into an outer, annular drain channel 19, which is provided with an inclined floor 20, and from there into a drain connector 22 of the housing. The shower water reaches a drain pipe from this drain connector 22.

It can be seen from the illustration that the fastening flange 6 fixed to the housing is offset downwards relative to the upper housing wall 13, which limits the upper part 21 of the outlet channel 19 at the top. The housing part lying above the mounting flange 6 thus protrudes into the recess 2 of the shower base. In the exemplary embodiment shown, the outer edge of the flange ring 10 is aligned with the outer edge of the fastening flange 6.

The drain fitting has a cover part 23 which is supported on the flange ring 10 via cams 24. In the areas between two adjacent cams 24, the shower water can flow into the drain fitting, as shown by arrows.
