Abstract

The invention relates, as is best apparent from Fig. 7, to a spraying container with a child-resistant double protection cap of resilient plastic possessing a cup inserted at the edge into the bordering flange of the container lid and an inner shell which, with a beading starting at the bottom, engages behind the valve dome, a plug-in brush holder 8 which is known per se being moulded onto the cup shell 14 on the inside, in a taperingly oblique manner below the bottom edge of the inner shell 2 which forms a nose 9 at that point, above a horizontal slot 15 opposite the container edge, and the bottom 10 leaving space at 13 for the valve trigger 12 is designed to receive working accessories 11, and the recess 13 in the bottom 10 extends radially outwards in the plane of symmetry of the beading 5, away from the latter, characterised in that the beading 5, which is semi-circular in radial cross-section, engages, at the bottom 10 of the inner shell 2, behind the valve disc 6 over a length of arc of something over 180 DEG , and in that the plug-in brush holder 8 ends at the lower edge in an apron 18, and in that the turn-over 7 together with the plug-in brush holder 8 and apron 18 are offset by about 30 DEG relative to the plane of the symmetry of the beading 5, and the inner shell 2 possesses an interruption 19 at the level of the valve trigger 12 in the peripheral region of the recess 13. <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to a spray can according to the preamble of claim 1.

Such a spray can is known from DE-A-19 21 416. The protective cap is secured against unauthorized opening by inwardly projecting webs provided on the cap wall, which can be brought into engagement with a collar on the can body via end parts formed on the webs. When the cap is placed on the can body, the webs yield elastically to the outside and snap back behind the collar, so that the cap is locked on the can body. To lift the cap from the can body, a tool, for example a screwdriver, is inserted into a notch formed in the cap wall and the cap is lifted from the can body by pivoting the tool. At least one of the webs breaks off and the cap can be removed from the can body. The spray can is therefore only protected against unwanted opening when the cap is lifted for the first time, while the cap sits loosely on the can body when the spray can is closed again. Childproof lock is no longer available after the spray can is used for the first time.

In a cap known from the older, not prepublished DE-A-37 14 234, both the working material and the filled-in spray paint are secured against unwanted removal by children with little production effort, because these are secured with the opening tool required for removal, for example a screwdriver, can't handle it yet. The cap cup can be removed with a screwdriver, if you push its blade through the slot at the bottom of the cap cup and then swivel the screwdriver down. His blade rests on the edge of the can and the brush socket above it is pressed against the bottom edge of the inner jacket, which is cambered there, so that both parts dodge elastically against each other and the cap cup can be removed from the spray can. He releases the inner jacket open at the top and the working material housed in it. In order to make the valve handle accessible as well, only the inner jacket needs to be pulled horizontally from the valve dome in the direction of its bead-shaped attachment, which can be done without tools by overcoming an elastic securing against unintentional loosening. This is given by the fact that the bead-shaped approach engages behind the valve dome on an arc length of slightly more than 180 °. This function is hardly imaginable for a small child. If you then want to store the working material in the inner jacket separately from the spray can, the cap cover can be placed on the inner jacket. The cap lid can also be used in a manner known per se to take up some paint from the spray can, in order to then bring this paint onto a scratch, for example in a car body, using the dab brush, the brush handle also being known in the brush socket brought of the cap cup and can be manipulated sensitively with the cap cup as a large-area handle. These advantages of use stand in contrast to the fact that an unskilled user when hastily inserting the screwdriver blade can damage the thin sheet metal of the can lid or, when carelessly pulling off the inner casing horizontally, can pry off the valve pusher which is inserted over the poppet valve and is easily lost or damage the poppet valve. In In both cases, the spray can becomes unusable. Also, the horizontal insertion of the inner jacket when assembling with the spray can requires complex kinematics in the automatic assembly machine.

The object of the invention is therefore to provide a spray can of the type mentioned which, with simple manufacture, ensures effective protection against unintentional opening or use by children, even after repeated use.

This object is achieved by the features mentioned in the characterizing part of claim 1. The apron protects the can lid and with its semicircular profiled bead, the inner jacket can be placed on the can from above, but can only be removed from the side. The recess in the circumferential area of the base section protects the valve handle.

Further features of the invention result from the subclaims.

The invention is illustrated using the exemplary embodiment shown schematically in the figures.

The protective cap, as can be seen from FIG. 1, consists of a cap cup 1 and an inner container 2, both made of crystal-clear plastic, and a lid 3, which has the color of the lacquer filled in a spray can 4.

For assembly, the inner container 2, which has a semicircularly profiled bead 5, is inserted with its bead 5 from above onto the valve dome 6 of the spray can 4, the ends of the bead 5 temporarily spreading apart and elastically contracting again so that the inner container 2 does not inadvertently move away the spray can 4 can solve. In order to find the correct angular position of the bead 5, a sensor on the associated chuck of the automatic assembly machine can scan an axial trough-shaped indentation 7 of the inner container 2 (not shown). This indentation 7 also serves to allow in the following assembly step, the axial fitting of the cap cup 1, to pass a brush socket 8 integrally formed on its lower end along the inner container 2, the brush socket 8 finally having a nose 9 molded onto the indentation 7 below elastically pushes away and then snaps behind the nose 9. Thus, the cap cup 1 and thus also the inner container 2 and the working material lying on the bottom 10 of the inner container, shown in FIG. 7, such as a dab brush 11 which can be plugged into the brush socket 8, and likewise the valve presser 12 of the spray can located under the bottom 10 4 protected against unauthorized handling by the interested party before buying the goods. Nevertheless, the customer can recognize the working material through the cap walls made of crystal-clear plastic, as well as the color of the paint in the spray can 4 from the paint application on the lid 3.

The indentation 7 on the inner container 2 and the brush jack 8 and an apron 18 on the cap cup 1 are offset by approximately 30 ° with respect to the plane of symmetry of the bead 5 on the inner container 2, as best shown in FIG. 6.

The bottom 10 of the inner container 2 has a radially extending inwardly projecting bottom section 13 in the push-on direction, so that the lateral pushing on or pulling off of the inner container 2 is not hindered by the valve pusher 12.

To open the blade of a screwdriver 17 is inserted into a slot 15 formed between the edge of the cap cup 1 and the edge of the spray can 4 and then the screwdriver 17 is pivoted downward and the brush socket 8 levered over the nose 9, whereupon the cap cup 14 can be removed upwards.

The cover 3 stuck on the crystal-clear protective cap is provided with the color of the lacquer filled into the spray can 4 and is appropriately secured against unauthorized removal in the locked position by a self-adhesive tear-off strip 16.

The brush jack 8 merges into the apron 18 at the lower edge, which runs parallel to the cap axis, so that it does not form an undercut for the injection molding tool and therefore does not require any additional production outlay. When the protective cap is pressed onto the spray can 4 by the automatic assembly machine, the apron 18 rests elastically against the can dome, as can be seen in FIG. 7, and directs the screwdriver blade 17 introduced by the user to open obliquely upwards against the brush socket acting as a stop 8 and holds it there while the user presses the handle of his screwdriver in the direction of the arrow. It is not possible to damage the thin-walled can dome. If the user then, after removing the cap cup 1, unlocks the inner container 2 by moving it horizontally to the right in FIG. 7, the valve pusher 12 is no longer laterally stressed because it is released through the recess 19 in the inner jacket 2.

To improve child safety, the spray can can be inserted into a thermoplastic, tearable stocking hose, which also overlaps the cover 3, not shown. The tearability can be improved in a manner known per se by means of a perforation or an incorporated one from which Garter protruding ripcord. A small child does not yet understand this possibility of tearing open, which also serves as protection against unauthorized removal of paint, for example by a trying customer in the shop, because it is clear to the customer that by tearing open the paint removal the seller can be recognized and then also buy the goods and would have to pay.
