At least some of these fibers are frayed. As a result, if the wind pushes the flame towards the bottom of the combustion chamber, which could extinguish it, these fibers are first immersed in the ignited gas and brought to very high temperatures, so that the incandescent fibers immediately rekindle the flame. Furthermore, this wick 15 constitutes an obstacle which lowers the speed of flow of the gas in the chamber 7 .
