- die Mulde teilweise mit einem feuchtigkeitshaltenden Substrat (14) wie Torf gefüllt wird,
- die von Erdreich im wesentlichen befreiten Wurzeln (12) der liegenden Pflanze (10) auf das Substrat (14) aufgelegt werden,
- weiteres Substrat (14) auf die Wurzeln (12) aufgebracht wird,
- das Drahtgitter (16) durch Zusammenbiegen der beiden ge­nannten Ränder (24, 26) zu einer Röhre verformt wird, und
- die genannten Ränder (24, 26) miteinander fest verbunden werden, indem durch Maschen (22) längs eines Randes (24) Drahtenden (28) vom anderen Rand (26) hindurchgesteckt werden, und diese Drahtenden (28) anschließend umgebogen werden,
dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß
- das Drahtgitter (16) zum Bilden der Mulde längs einer ersten Kantenlinie (32), die ungefähr in der Mitte zwischen den genannten beiden Rändern (24, 26) liegt, ungefähr rechtwinklig abgekantet wird,
- das Drahtgitter (16) nach dem Aufbringen von Substrat (14), Auflegen der Wurzeln (12) und Aufbringen weiteren Substrats (14) längs einer zweiten Kantenlinie (34), die ungefähr in der Mitte zwischen der ersten Kantenlinie (32) und einem der genannten Ränder (26) liegt, erneut ungefähr rechtwinklig abgekantet wird, wobei das Drahtgitter (16) an dieser zweiten Kantenlinie (34) festgehalten wird, und

dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß an der zwei­ten Füllstation (D) ein im Wechsel mit der Zuteilvorrich­tung (80) in Arbeitsstellung bringbarer Stempel (82) zum Verdichten des Substrats (14) angeordnet ist.

6. Maschine nach Anspruch 4 oder 5,
dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß an der Schließstation (E) zwei gegenläufig bewegbare Stößel (84, 86) zum Schließen der Klappen (60, 62) und mindestens ein weiterer Stößel (88) zum Umbiegen von Drahtenden (28) der Drahtgitter (16) angeordnet sind.

7. Maschine nach einem der Ansprüche 4 bis 6,
dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß an der Ent­nahmestation (F) ein heb- und senkbarer Greifer (90) an­geordnet ist, der Haken (92) zum Eingreifen in das zu einer Röhre verformte Drahtgitter (16) aufweist.
