Definitions
- the present invention relates to an electronic chronograph watch.
- a watch allows, in addition to the normal time display, to measure times usually between fractions of a second and a few hours.
- This using a time counting mechanism derived either from the train of a mechanical or electronic watch, or from motors controlled by the oscillator and the integrated circuit of an electronic watch.
- the watch movement and the chronograph mechanism are constructed as a function of the other and completely nested one inside the other, which leads to expensive embodiments.
- the aim of the present invention is to produce an electronic chronograph watch which is easy to manufacture and inexpensive.
- the watch according to the invention is produced as described in claim 1.
- the chronograph mechanism is completely independent (possibly with the exception of the energy source) of the watch movement and that 'it is produced in the form of a separate module, it can be arranged and assembled without difficulty either next to or below the watch movement, which facilitates assembly.
- this design allows the same standard electronic components and particularly low prices to be used without other for the movement of the watch and for the chronograph module. The combination of these measures leads to an inexpensive chronograph watch.
- FIG. 1 illustrates a watch 15 according to the invention, comprising in its center an electronic watch movement 1 with hour, minute and second hands 2, a time-setting rod 3 and a power source 4
- the peripheries of the movement 1 and of the watch 15 determine between them a ring 6 external to the movement which is used to house an autonomous chronograph mechanism in the form of a module powered by an energy source 5 specific to this mechanism.
- the chronograph mechanism does not necessarily require its own energy source and it can also be powered by the energy source 4 of the watch movement 1.
- FIG. 1 also shows push-buttons 7 and 8 for controlling the engagement, stopping and resetting of the chronograph.
- FIG. 2 shows an autonomous chronograph mechanism in the form of a module according to the invention.
- the chronograph has only one counter (13).
- the module comprises a quartz resonator 9, an integrated circuit 10 and a motor 11 driving a gear train 12 leading to an analog display with a needle 13.
- An energy source 14 provides a power supply independent of the chronograph module. We recognize the organs 7 and 8 for controlling the chronograph functions.
- a chronograph with at least two displays can be produced either using at least two motors 11, or using respective mechanical elements such as gears or cams and levers from the gear train 12 of the first display 13 .
- At least part of the timed times digitally.
- at least one digital display controlled in a manner known per se by the integrated circuit 10 of the chronograph module.
- Such a digital display can also be used outside of the chronograph functions to display other values, eg the date indication.

Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to an electronic chronograph watch. Such a watch allows, in addition to the normal time display, to measure times usually between fractions of a second and a few hours. This using a time counting mechanism derived either from the train of a mechanical or electronic watch, or from motors controlled by the oscillator and the integrated circuit of an electronic watch. In the known embodiments of this type of watch, the watch movement and the chronograph mechanism are constructed as a function of the other and completely nested one inside the other, which leads to expensive embodiments.
Consequently, the aim of the present invention is to produce an electronic chronograph watch which is easy to manufacture and inexpensive. To achieve this object, the watch according to the invention is produced as described in
- FIG. 1 illustrates the basic principle of the invention, and
- FIG. 2 illustrates an example of a chronograph mechanism according to the invention.
On reconnaît les organes 7 et 8 de commande des fonctions du chronographe.FIG. 2 shows an autonomous chronograph mechanism in the form of a module according to the invention. In the example illustrated, and for the sake of simplification, the chronograph has only one counter (13). The module comprises a
A chronograph with at least two displays can be produced either using at least two
As a variant, it is possible to display at least part of the timed times digitally. In this case, there is provided at least one digital display controlled in a manner known per se by the integrated
