Im dargestellten Ausführungsbeispiel soll die Farbe in der Farbkammer 13 mit leichtem Überdruck anstehen, so daß die Rasterwalze 3 ohne weitere Hilfsmittel zuverlässig eingefärbt wird. Es wäre aber auch denkbar, im Bereich der Farbkammer 13 eine mit der Rasterwalze 3 zusammenwirkende Schöpfwalze anzuordnen. In diesem Fall könnte auf einen Überdruck und dementsprechend auf eine vollständige Füllung der Farbkammer 13 verzichtet werden.The ink chamber 13 is supplied with paint. Diese Überströmöffnungen 24 können, wie Figur 2 weiter erkennen läßt, als von der Rakelkante beabstandete, bohrungsförmige Ausnehmungen des stromaufwärts gelegenen, als Vor- bzw. Schließrakel wirkenden Rakelblatts 11 ausgebildet sein. Zusätzlich oder alternativ zu diesen Ausnehmungen des Rakelblatts 11 könnten aber auch im Bereich der Rakelblattaufnahme angeordnete Schlitze als Überströmöffnungen vorgesehen sein. Zur Erzielung einer möglichst gleichmäßigen Beaufschlagung der Vorkammer 41 auf ihrer ganzen Länge sind mehrere, gleichmäßig über die ganze Kammerlänge verteilte Überströmöffnungen 24 vorgesehen.The pre-chamber 41 is also supplied with paint. In diesem Fall wird mit einer fest vorgegebenen Drehrichtung der Rasterwalze 3 gearbeitet, so daß lediglich eine dem in jedem Falle als Vor- bzw. Schließrakel fungierenden Rakelblatt benachbarte Vorkammer 41 vorgesehen ist. Im Falle einer Umkehrbarkeit der Drehrichtung der Rasterwalze 3 könnten im Bereich beider Rakelblätter Vorkammern vorgesehen sein, wobei jeweils nicht benötigte Vorkammer nicht mit Farbe beaufschlagt wird, indem lediglich im Bereich der benötigten Vorkammer ein Rakelblatt mit Überströmöffnungen eingesetzt wird.The pre-inked and stripped by means of the doctor blade 11 anilox roller receives its final inking in the area of the ink chamber 13, which is under a slight positive pressure here, that is to say the filling of the cells 5 is supplemented where something is still missing. Claims (10)

1. An inking unit and more particularly short inking unit for printing presses, more particularly offset litho presses comprising at least one pitted roll (3), with which a chamber doctor blade arrangement (7) is associated having two doctor blades (11 and 12) which are offset in relation to each other in the circumferential direction of the pitted roll and are preferably mounted on a doctor blade holder (9) and furthermore delimit an ink chamber (13), able to be charged with ink, into which chamber the pitted roll (3) extends, characterized in that the ink chamber (13) is preceded by a pre-chamber (41) which is able to be charged with ink and is placed outside the doctor blade (11) which is upstream in the direction of rotation of the pitted roll (3) and acts as a preliminary or shut off doctor blade, said pitted roll (3) being arranged to extend into said pre-chamber (41).
2. The inking unit as claimed in claim 1, characterized in that the ink chamber (13), which is preferably able to be charged with a gage pressure, is provided with at least one overflow opening (24) running into the pre-chamber (41
3. The inking unit as claimed in claim 2, characterized in that the pre-chamber (41) is separated by the adjacent doctor blade (11) from the ink chamber (13) and in that within this doctor blade (11) and/or the means receiving it at least one transfer opening (24) is provided.
4. The inking unit as claimed in claim 3, characterized in that the doctor blade (11) is provided with recesses which are preferably evenly distributed along its length and are spaced from the edge of the doctor blade in order to constitute the transfer opening (24).
5. The inking unit as claimed in any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the pre-chamber (41) is provided with an ink overflow.
6. The inking unit as claimed in claim 5, characterized in that the pre-chamber (41) is delimited by a sheet metal dam (40) spaced from the doctor blade (11) and received on the doctor blade holder (9), whose end adjacent to the pitted roll constitutes an overflow edge not in contact with the pitted roll (3).
7. The inking unit as claimed in claim 5 or in claim 6, characterized in that the overflow gap (42), which is preferably delimited by the sheet metal dam (40), has a drain gutter (14) underneath it.
8. The inking unit as claimed in claim 8, characterized in that the drain gutter (14) is connected with a return line (26) running to an ink reservoir and/or an ink pump (16).
9. The inking unit as claimed in any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the doctor blade (11) adjacent to the pre-chamber (41) and more particularly both doctor blades (11 and 12) are adapted to be loosely positioned in a respectively associated receiving slot in the doctor blade holder (9).
10. The inking unit as claimed in claim 9, characterized in that at least the ink chamber (13) and preferably the ink chamber (13) and the pre-chamber (41) are delimited at the end by sealing cheeks (43) which are positioned in resilient engagement with the ends of the doctor blade (11 or 12) or, respectively, the doctor blades (11 and 12) and of the sheet metal dam (40) in the longitudinal direction of the doctor blades (11 and 12), such sealing cheeks preferably being able to be elastically thrust into position.
