Definitions
- the seat support and the backrest support are pivoted at one end to a support part at a distance from each around a horizontal axis, the seat part being connected at its other end to the backrest support by a swivel joint.
- the backrest support tilts at a greater angle than the seat part, one of the swivel joints additionally being designed as a sliding joint or an additional connecting bracket on one of the swivel joints.
- the greater inclination of the backrest support causes the known pull-out effect, i.e. the clothing of the chair user is pulled up when tilted backwards.
- the automatic displacement of the backrest which takes place as a function of the backward inclination of the seat support, is achieved by means of a linkage which is articulated on the swivel joint of the backrest support and is coupled to the end of the backrest support on the support part.
- This linkage takes up a lot of space and is because it is under the seat extends to the knee-side seat end, not only space-consuming but also costly.
- a simplification of the linkage can be achieved if the displacement of the backrest which takes place as a function of the backward inclination of the seat carrier is carried out in accordance with the solution described in the parent application.
- each additional linkage represents an additional effort, and it is an object of the invention to further develop chair frames of the type described in the preamble of claims 1-3 so that the chair frame offers sufficient comfort even without a sliding backrest.
- the chair shown in Fig. 1 is supported on a support part 1, which usually represents part of a mostly mobile, only indicated foot frame 2.
- a seat support 3 and a backrest part 4 are mounted on the support part 1, the seat support 3 having its knee-side end being pivotably mounted on the support part 1 by means of a swivel joint 5.
- the backrest part 4 is articulated by means of a swivel joint 6 to a lever, which in turn is pivotably mounted in the support part 1 by means of a further swivel joint 8 at a distance from the swivel joint of the seat support 3.
- the seat support 3 and the backrest part 4 are rotatably connected to one another on the backrest side by means of a swivel joint 9.
- the lever 7 is designed as a cantilever arm 10, at the free end of which one end of a spring member 11 is supported.
- the other end of the spring member 11 is supported on the support part 1, wherein it is articulated on the knee-side pivot joint 5 of the seat support 3 or is supported on the support part 1 in the vicinity of this pivot joint. If the backrest part 4 moves by a certain amount, this is increased at the free end of the arm 10, so that the spring travel of the spring member 11 is increased accordingly.
- the seat support 3 projects with an extension 12 beyond the swivel joint 9 on the backrest.
- a link chain 15 is coupled by means of a swivel joint 16, which is composed of three articulated links 17, 18, 19.
- the link 19 is connected at its free end to a slide 20 which is guided on the backrest support 4 and carries a backrest 21, shown schematically by a broken line.
- the seat support 3 moves around the knee-side swivel joint 5 in the direction of arrow a and the backrest support 4 around the backrest-side swivel joint 9 in the arrow direction A, the inclination of the backrest support 4 being greater than that of the seat support 3.
- the link chain 15 is adjusted so that the slider 20 moves down with the backrest 21.
- the middle link 18 is pivotally mounted in the backrest support 4 by means of a swivel joint 22.
- the link 18 thus forms a two-armed lever, by means of which the inclination of the link 17 is reduced when the backrest support 4 is tilted back and thus causes the slide 20 to move downward.
- the link 19 only serves to prevent a clamping end of the slide 20 on its guide.
- one arm of the lever 7 connects the backrest part 4 to the support part 1.
- the arm located between the swivel joints 6, 8 is accordingly a tab through which the backward inclination of the two supports 3, 4 is free of jamming and without formation of a Swivel joint is made possible as an additional sliding joint.
- Fig. 1 the space-saving and simple solution of the displacement of the slide 20 with the backrest 21 can be seen.
- the space below the seat support 3 can be used for the arrangement of other parts, the effect of the spring member 11 also being increased by using the lever 7, since this translates the movement of the backrest support 4.
- FIGS. 2-4 show that additional spring means or rods can be used for their actuation, as will be shown below.
- the seat support 3 mounted in the knee-side swivel joint 5 is connected on the backrest side with a bracket 25 and two swivel joints 9, 13 to the backrest support, with which the backrest support 4 can be pivotably mounted on the support part 1 by means of the swivel joint 8 without a sliding joint having to be provided.
- the backrest support 4 here has an arm 23 projecting from the swivel joint 8, on the free end of which the spring member 11 is supported. Further spring means are attached on the backrest side, see a tension spring 26 which is fastened on the one hand to the backrest support 4 and on the other hand to the supporting part 1. If further spring means are required, it is also possible to arrange a torsion spring in the knee-side swivel joint 5 of the seat support 3 and in the swivel joint 8.
- the spring means always have the task of moving the chair into the normal or working position when it is relieved. It is desirable to be able to actuate the spring means 11 arranged in the knee area, in particular a gas pressure spring, in order to block the chair in a certain position, for example in the backward inclined position. The actuation can be made easily accessible because of the location of the spring means.
- one end of the spring means 11 is supported on a pair of tabs 30, 31, of which the tab 30 is supported on the backrest-side swivel 9 of the two supports 3, 4 and the tab 31 on the support part 1.
- the spring travel of the spring means 11 can be varied.
- a tension spring 27 is supported on the one hand on the pair of tabs 30, 31 and on the other hand on the support part 1.
- the two supports 3, 4 are connected to one another on the backrest side by the tab 25 and are pivotably mounted on the supporting part 1 by the swivel joints 5, 8.
- a pair of tabs 32, 33 is provided, of which the tab 32 is pivotally mounted on the pivot 9 of the seat support 3 on the backrest and the tab 33 on the pivot 8 of the back support 4 in the seat part 1.
- the chair frames described have a relatively small volume of rod parts under the seat support.
- the inevitable "duck belly” in other constructions due to the arrangement of voluminous and bulky rod parts under the seat support can be avoided in the present construction.

Abstract
Description
Chairs with a reclining seat support and backrest support are known in various designs. In the simplest known embodiment, the seat support and the backrest support are pivoted at one end to a support part at a distance from each around a horizontal axis, the seat part being connected at its other end to the backrest support by a swivel joint. When the seat part is tilted backwards, the backrest support tilts at a greater angle than the seat part, one of the swivel joints additionally being designed as a sliding joint or an additional connecting bracket on one of the swivel joints. The greater inclination of the backrest support causes the known pull-out effect, i.e. the clothing of the chair user is pulled up when tilted backwards.
In order to avoid the pull-out effect, it is known (PCT application WO 83/00610) to arrange a height-adjustable backrest on the backrest support, which is guided downwards to an appropriate extent when the seat support is tilted backwards, so that no pull-out effect occurs.
The automatic displacement of the backrest, which takes place as a function of the backward inclination of the seat support, is achieved by means of a linkage which is articulated on the swivel joint of the backrest support and is coupled to the end of the backrest support on the support part. This linkage takes up a lot of space and is because it is under the seat extends to the knee-side seat end, not only space-consuming but also costly.
A simplification of the linkage can be achieved if the displacement of the backrest which takes place as a function of the backward inclination of the seat carrier is carried out in accordance with the solution described in the parent application. But each additional linkage represents an additional effort, and it is an object of the invention to further develop chair frames of the type described in the preamble of claims 1-3 so that the chair frame offers sufficient comfort even without a sliding backrest.
This object is achieved according to the invention by the characterizing features of claims 1-3.
- 1 is a backward-tilting chair (or its kinematic replacement image) with a sliding backrest,
- 2 shows a first variant of the chair frame of the chair according to FIG. 1,
- 4 shows a third variant of the chair frame of the chair according to FIG. 1.
The chair shown in Fig. 1 is supported on a
All the rotary joints described here, including the
The seat support 3 and the
The seat support 3 projects with an
When the chair is tilted back, the
In the chair according to FIG. 1, one arm of the lever 7 connects the
Furthermore, FIGS. 2-4 show that additional spring means or rods can be used for their actuation, as will be shown below.
In the chair frame according to FIG. 2, the same parts are provided with the same reference numerals as in FIG. 1. The
In the illustrated embodiments of the chair and the chair frames, the spring means always have the task of moving the chair into the normal or working position when it is relieved. It is desirable to be able to actuate the
In the chair frame according to FIG. 4, the two supports 3, 4 are connected to one another on the backrest side by the
Of course, it is also possible to provide a torsion spring in the chair frames according to FIGS. 3 and 4 and also in FIG. 1 on the knee-
The chair frames described have a relatively small volume of rod parts under the seat support. The inevitable "duck belly" in other constructions due to the arrangement of voluminous and bulky rod parts under the seat support can be avoided in the present construction.
