Abstract

To remove the thread waste (11) on a yarn carrier (7), the latter is clamped in a loading station (A) of the device between a take-up cone (6) and a pressing cone (8) arranged on a carriage (3) which slides to and fro on a carriage guide (1). During this movement, the yarn carrier (7) first passes through a cutting station (B) in which the thread waste (11) on the yarn carrier (7) is cut by blades (13) arranged on a blade head (12). During the subsequent movement of the yarn carrier (7), the pressing cone (8) is detached from the latter and the take-up cone (6) is set in rotation by a drive pulley (10) connected to a drive. The rotating yarn carrier (7) passes through a stripping station (C) into which compressed air is blown obliquely to the yarn carrier (7) through compressed air nozzles (15) arranged on a blower (14). The cut thread waste (11) is stripped and sucked through a suction channel (16). In a subsequent ejection station (D), the yarn carrier (7) is thrust away from the take-up cone (6) by an ejection cylinder (17) and the carriage (3) returns to the loading station (A) to begin a new work cycle.

Description

The invention relates to a method for removing the thread residue from a yarn carrier used on textile machines, on the outer surface of which there are uncoiled thread layers, the yarn carrier being clamped at least at one end in a holder and then the thread carrier held clamped and a at least one knife carrying Knife head are moved relative to each other in such a way that the free end of the at least one knife is moved parallel to a surface line of the thread carrier outer surface for the purpose of severing the thread layers at a short distance from the thread carrier surface, such that after severing the thread layers, the thread carrier and a blowing device with at least one arranged on this and directed obliquely against the thread carrier jacket surface in the direction of the free thread carrier end facing away from the holding mandrel, are moved relative to one another and by means of compressed air emerging at the nozzle, the thread number to be removed est forming, severed thread layers are stripped from the yarn carrier. The invention further relates to an apparatus for performing the method.

In order to be able to reuse yarn carriers after they have been used on a textile machine, they must be freed from the thread residue still present in order to be able to rewind them. In certain spinning processes with two bobbins placed one above the other at each spinning station, the threads of which are combined, a more or less large thread residue regularly remains on one of the two thread carriers when the thread has been completely unwound from the other thread carrier. A different number of thread layers are therefore still present on the one thread carrier, which must be removed. In the past, a method that involved a lot of manual work was used for this, with the help of a kind of reel the thread ends, which have been pulled off by hand and placed on the rotating part of the reel, have been unwound from the thread carriers attached to a plurality of holding mandrels arranged in a row next to the rotating part. This process takes a different amount of time for each thread spool. Carrying out this work with a lot of manual work is very tedious and not very economical.

In order to simplify and largely mechanize this complex technology, a device is proposed in GB-A-1 158 584 which enables the method described at the outset to be carried out. Despite certain reliefs, this solution, which includes firmly clamping a thread carrier, cutting through the thread layers remaining on the thread carrier by means of at least one knife moving in the longitudinal direction relative to the thread carrier and stripping off the separated thread layers by means of a blowing device, is only partially satisfactory. The result achieved is unable to meet the current requirements of coil and tube cleaning.

The present invention was therefore based on the object of further improving the complete removal of the thread remainder from thread carriers and at the same time achieving a high degree of economy in thread removal and cleaning of the thread carrier.

A method with the measures according to claim 1 serves to solve this problem.

In the method according to the invention, after cutting through the yarn residues on the yarn carrier, the yarn carrier is set in rotation and freed from the thread residues by means of simultaneous blowing (compressed air) and by using a suction nozzle. At the same time, the surface of the yarn carrier is also freed of dust and small foreign bodies.

The device for performing the method has the features of claim 3. In this, the essential parts are a device for clamping a yarn carrier between two holding mandrels, a knife head carrying at least one knife and a blowing device having at least one nozzle, by means of which the thread layers previously separated by the knife are stripped from the yarn carrier by compressed air, whereby this is set in rapid rotation by one of the holding mandrels, a suction device and a device for releasing the yarn carrier from the rotatable holding mandrel. The yarn carrier as well as the knife and the blowing device must move relative to one another with the aid of guide means. In a preferred embodiment, these guide means have a slide which can be oscillated along a slide guide, on which a support with a receiving cone forming the rotatable holding mandrel for holding the sleeve-shaped Thread carrier are arranged on the inner peripheral edge and with a drive for the rotatable receiving cone, as well as a further support with a pressing cone forming the second holding mandrel, the latter being axially movable with the aid of a pressing cylinder in order to be moved away from the package after the thread layers have been severed , so that the severed thread layers can be stripped from the yarn carrier with the help of the blowing nozzle over the then free end of the yarn carrier with rapid rotation of the yarn carrier and can reach an unobstructed suction channel opening in the area of the yarn carrier end. In a preferred embodiment, the slide guide therefore extends along a straight conveyor line, on which, in series, a loading station with means for automatically clamping a yarn carrier between the receiving cone connected to a rotary drive and the pressing cone, then a cutting station consisting of a cutter head with at least one knife, then a stripping station consisting of the blowing device with at least one nozzle, next to which a suction channel opens, and then an ejector station with an ejector cylinder, which can be actuated transversely to the conveying path, for pressing off the yarn carrier from rotatable receiving cone.

The method and the device are described in more detail in a preferred embodiment with reference to the drawing. The single figure shows the device schematically and only its essential components.

On a straight slide guide 1, a slide 3 is arranged to be longitudinally movable by means of two ball bushings 2. This carriage is moved by a not shown in the drawing, on the right side of the device outside the plane of the drawing, of which only the piston rod end 4 is shown, along the slide guide 1 oscillating. A support 5 is arranged on the slide 3 with a holding mandrel 6 rotatably mounted therein, which is designed as a receiving cone in order to hold the sleeve-shaped and conical yarn carrier 7 on the inner peripheral edge. The yarn carrier 7 is clamped between the receiving cone 6 and a further holding mandrel 8 which is arranged on the opposite side and is designed as a pressing cone and which can be moved back and forth in the axial direction with the aid of a pressing cylinder 9. The loading of the device with yarn carriers 7 in this loading station A can be automated, for which purpose, for example, a shaft (not shown in the drawing) opens above the holding mandrels 6 and 8, through which the yarn carriers come down from a storage container.

The receiving cone 6, which is rotatably mounted in the support 5, is connected via a drive disk 10 to a drive (not shown in the drawing), for example to an electric motor fastened on the carriage 3, in order to set the yarn carrier 7 in rotation, which will be explained below.

After the thread carrier 7 has been clamped between the two holding mandrels 6 and 8 in the loading station A, the thread remainder 11 still present on the thread carrier 7, which is present in a more or less large number of thread layers on the outer surface of the thread carrier 7, must be completely cut open will. For this purpose, the slide 3 is moved through the cutting station B with the aid of the piston rod 4 of the pneumatic cylinder (not shown in the drawing). A knife head 12 has three knives 13 arranged one behind the other in the conveying direction, which can be adjusted steplessly and are pressed downwards by means of spring pressure onto an inner stop, so that the free ends of the knives 13 immediately, at a distance of approximately 0.05 mm, are located above the lateral surface of the yarn carrier 7 shown with dashed lines. The knives 13 thus move parallel to a surface line of the yarn carrier 7. In order for this to be possible, in the example of a conical yarn carrier 7 shown in the drawing, the yarn carrier 7 must be held at an angle to the carriage 1 with its central axis. For this reason, the receiving cone 6 and the pressing cone 8 are arranged with their axes obliquely to the slide guide 1. This is achieved by tilting the slide 3 with respect to the slide guide 1.

When severing the thread layers 11 on the yarn carrier 7 by means of the knife 13, the yarn carrier is held in place and after the severing of the thread layers is then during the further movement of the Carriage 3, the pressure cone 8 is separated from the yarn carrier 7 with the aid of the pressure cylinder 9, so that it is only stuck on the receiving cone 6. At the same time, this receiving cone is rotated via the drive pulley and the drive as described above, so that the yarn carrier 7 at about 900 rpm. rotates. The rotating yarn carrier 7 is then moved under the blowing station C adjoining to the left in the drawing. A blowing device 14 arranged here carries two compressed air nozzles 15 arranged one behind the other in the transport direction of the yarn carrier and thus serves to fasten the nozzles and to supply the compressed air. The nozzles 15 are arranged obliquely against the outer surface of the yarn carrier 7 and in the direction of the free yarn carrier end facing away from the rotating holding mandrel 6. Compressed air flows out of the nozzles 15 at about 6 bar and, due to the simultaneous advancing movement of the yarn carrier 7 moved with the carriage 3 and the rotation of the yarn carrier, the previously severed thread residue 11 is stripped from the yarn carrier and is discharged through a suction channel 16 opening directly next to the blowing station aspirated.

The carriage 3, which is continuously moved during the entire process, then moves into the adjoining ejector station D, in which an ejector cylinder 17 is arranged, which presses the yarn carrier 7 from the receiving cone 6, so that it falls into a container not shown in the drawing due to its own weight . The carriage 3 then travels back to the loading station A in rapid traverse in order to pick up a new thread carrier.
