Die Riffelung (14) an den Elementen (7) besteht aus einer Vielzahl aneinandergereihter, konkaver Einbuchtungen, so daß die zu zerteilende Pille oder Tablette von dieser Riffelung sicher gegriffen und gehalten wird. Die Auskerbung (15) in der Trägerfläche (6) ist mit abgeschrägten Seitenwänden versehen. So wird die Klinge (4) nach dem Zerteilen einer Tablette wieder in eine gerade, zentrale Position geführt, auch wenn sie beim Zerteilen leicht verkantet wurde. Eine Seitenwand (16) verhindert, daß eine Tablettenhälfte aus dem Vorratsbehälter (5) hinter die blattfederartigen Elemente (7) rutschen kann.9 shows a top view of the opened pill divider.   1. A pill divider comprising a pair of arms (1, 2) tiltable about an axis, including a carrier surface (6) for receiving the pill and comprising means (7) for positioning the pill, both being located at the first arm (1), and comprising a cutter (4) at the second arm (2) extending closely above the carrier surface (6) when the pill divider is closed, and forming together with arms (1, 2) and positioning means (7) two individual chambers (14) located adjacent to said axis,
    characterized in that
    said pill divider comprises means (8) for removing only one piece of the divided pill while the other piece remains in said pill divider.
  2. A pill divider as defined by claim 1,
    characterized in that
    it comprises a storage reservoir (5).
  3. A pill divider as defined by either of claims 1 or 2,
    characterized in that
    said removing means (8) is arranged opposite carrier surface (6).
  4. A pill divider as defined by either of claims 2 or 3,
    characterized in that
    the carrier surface (6) and the storage reservoir (5) are provided at a first arm (1) while the cutter (4) and the removing means (8) are provided at the second arm (2).
  5. A pill divider as defined by either of claims 1 to 4,
    characterized in that
    said removing means is a discharge port (8) provided in the second arm (2) which is located above one of chambers (14) when the cutting operation is accomplished.
  6. A pill divider as defined by either of claims 2 to 5,
    characterized in that
    the storage reservoir (5) is located at the rear end of the first arm (1).
  7. A pill divider as defined by claim 6,
    characterized in that
    the storage reservoir (5) and the pair of arms (1, 2) are designed such that after the cutting operation is finished they form a closed unit.
  8. A pill divider as defined by either of claims 1 to 7,
    characterized in that
    wall (11) of reservoir (5) facing the cutter (4) comprises an aperture (13) for passing a piece of the divided pill directly from the area adjacent to the axis to the storage reservoir (5).
  9. A pill divider as defined by either of claims 1 to 8,
    characterized in that
    the positionining means comprises a pair of angularly arranged leaf type spring elements (7) the conjugated faces of which are provided with corrugations (14).
  10. A pill divider as defined by either of claims 1 to 9,
    characterized in that
    extending in the direction of the cutter (4) the carrier surface (6) comprises a central groove (15) receiving at least part of the cutter (4) when the pill divider is closed.
