Description

The present invention relates to an electronic timepiece with analog display, the indicators of which are driven by two multi-pole motors, the rotors of these two motors being coaxial and being directly integral with the indicators which they drive, respectively.

Electronics make it possible to design timepieces, and often even wristwatches, which provide the most diverse time indications: ordinary time (hours, minutes and seconds), chronograph and its totalizers, fractions of seconds, calendars , days of the week, moon phases or any other astronomical indication, additional time indicators from different time zones, day-night indicators.

The problem posed by such timepieces lies in the difficulty of bringing together in a very small space the various motors driving the different indicators.

The object of the present invention is to provide a solution to this problem thanks to which the general arrangement of the motors of such a timepiece is particularly simple and compact.

It should be noted that electronic timepieces with analog display are known (cf. French Patent No. 2,155,246), the indicators of which are driven by motors, in which, moreover, the rotors of these motors are coaxial , one being directly attached to the indicator it drives.

However, in these constructions, it is not a question of motors of the type comprising a winding traversed by a core belonging to a frame forming two openings between which the rotor is disposed, but of motors with an annular rotor or motors known as with a rotating ring can only directly drive indicators in the form of discs or crowns.

This object is achieved by the means defined in claim 1.

The drawing shows, by way of example, two embodiments of the subject of the invention.
  • Fig. 1 is a plan view of the movement of a first embodiment of a wristwatch.
  • Fig. 2 is a section of this watch along the line II-II of FIG. 1, on a larger scale.
  • Fig. 3 is a plan view of the movement of a second embodiment of a wristwatch.
  • Figs. 4 a and 4 b together form a section along the line IV-IV of FIG. 3, on a larger scale, and
  • Fig. 5 is a plan view of the movement of this watch, similar to that of FIG. 3, in which have been added schematically the conductive tracks as well as the microprocessor carried by a substrate which has not been shown or which would be assumed, for clarity of the drawing, to be transparent.

The watch shown in figs. 1 and 2 comprises a movement, the frame of which is formed by a plate 1, a center bridge 2 and an intermediate bridge 3.

It includes two coaxial multipole motors, located in the center, the rotor of one, upper, is designated by 4, and that of the other, lower, by 5. The armature of the upper motor, designated in a way general by 6, and the armature of the lower motor, generally designated by 7, are arranged in a relative position such that the windings of these two motors, designated by 8 and by 9 respectively, are diametrically opposite. However, they may not be located strictly on the same diameter, but in the immediate vicinity thereof, the main thing being that they are arranged so as to minimize the magnetic influences of one of the motors on the other.

4a.These motors are controlled by a quartz oscillator schematically represented at 10 in FIG. 1, the power being supplied by a battery 11 also visible in FIG. 4 a .

The rotor 5 is fixed to a floor 12 of the hub, designated by 12a, which it is mounted, this floor being pivoted on the one hand in the plate 1 and secondly in the intermediate deck 3. With regard to rotor 4, it is mounted on a bearing surface 13 a which has a shaft 13 passing through the barrel, designated by 12 b , from the roadway 12. This shaft 13 is pivoted in the plate 2 on the one hand and in the barrel 12 b d 'somewhere else.

The roadway 12 is engaged with the wheel, designated by 14, of a reduction gear, the pinion of which, designated by 15, is engaged with a wheel 16 rotatably mounted on the barrel 12 b .

The shaft 13 secured to the rotor 4 carries a seconds hand 17 while the barrel 12 b secured to the rotor 5 carries a minutes hand 18, a sleeve 16 a which has the wheel 16 carrying an hour hand 19.

The driving of the seconds 17 and minutes 18 hands being ensured directly, without reduction, by the rotors of the two motors, respectively, of which they are directly integral, it is advisable to control these using pulses whose frequency will be a function of the number of poles of these rotors, for example sixty, and the speed at which said indicators must rotate, namely one revolution per minute for the 17 seconds hand and one revolution per hour for the hand minutes 18. As for the hour hand 19, which makes one revolution per twelve hours, its speed is determined by the gear ratios.

The timepiece shown in Figs. 3 to 5 comprises, like that of the first embodiment, two coaxial multipolar motors driving, in the same way as in the case of the first embodiment, hour hands 20, minutes 21 and seconds 22, the first and the last directly by their respective rotors 23 and 24. In this embodiment, the second hand 22 is a chronograph hand, being arranged to be able to be stopped and restarted at will.

In this embodiment, the watch comprises three additional motors, arranged in a cross, that is to say two of which are situated on a diameter, indicated at 25 in FIG. 3, perpendicular to the diameter, indicated by 26, on which are located the windings, designated by 27 and 28, respectively, of the two coaxial central motors. These three peripheral motors, whose rotors have been designated by 29, each have their winding, designated by 30, located at the periphery of the movement. They drive, directly, using shafts 31 on which the rotors 29 are mounted, hands 32 which constitute the chronograph totalizers. One or the other of the three needles 32 can moreover provide any other desired indication. In this regard, provision may be made for the three rotors 29 of the peripheral motors not to have the same number of poles or even to be bipolar.

In general, it should be noted that all of the indicators of the watches described and represented, whether they are those driven by the central motors or by the peripheral motors, may provide indications different from those which were given as an example, such as fractions of seconds, dates, days of the week, phases of the moon or any other astronomical indication, additional indications of the time in different time zones or even constitute day-night indicators, including precisely the drive motor may be bipolar.

It can also be provided that one or the other of the motors is controlled manually and then serves as unit counters (objects or points to be totaled).

A substrate, which has not been shown, covers the movement and carries conductive tracks shown in FIG. 5 where some of them have been designated by 33. The substrate also carries a microprocessor, indicated at 34 in FIG. 5. Those of tracks 33 which end at the periphery of the movement terminate opposite push-buttons for controlling the various functions of the watch, in particular the chronograph, or for setting the time.
