Abstract

Zur Herstellung von Dosenrümpfen mit unrundem Querschnitt, vorzugsweise mit einem rechteckförmigen Querschnitt mit abgerundeten Ecken werden flache Zuschnitte (3) zunächst in einer Verformungsstation (5) mittels einer Mehrzahl von gleichartigen Biegewerkzeugen (20) zur Herstellung jeweils einer Abbiegung verformt, wobei an den taktweise weitertransportierten Zuschnitten (3) gleichzeitig an den verschiedenen Zuschnitten jeweils eine andere Abbiegung hergestellt wird. Das Biegewerkzeug (20) weist ein innenseitig stationär gehaltenes Formstück (21) mit einer gekrümmten Aussenfläche (22) auf und ferner eine in einem Lagerungskörper (23) gelagerte Rolle (24), die unter der Wirkung einer gegen den Lagerungs­ körper (23) andrückenden Feder (26) steht, um den zwischen dem Formstück (21) und der Drückrolle (24) befindlichen Zuschnitt (3) während der durch eine an dem Lagerungskörper (23) angelenkte Hubstange (28) bewirkten Bewegung nach oben umzubiegen. Dies erfolgt gleichzeitig bei allen für jeweils eine Abbiegung vorgesehenen Biegewerkzeugen (20) durch einen beweglichen Teil (7) der als Presse arbeitenden Verformungseinrichtung (5). Der Zuschnitt (3) wird taktweise von einer zur nächsten Biegeeinrichtung (20) weiterbewegt, so dass nach mehreren Arbeitstakten ein Dosenkörper mit rechteckförmigem Querschnitt und abgerundeten Ecken vorhanden ist, dessen Ränder in einer nachfolgenden Schweissstation durch elektrisches Wider­ standsschweissen verbunden werden.
