Description

The invention relates to a device for cleaning a transfer cylinder of a rotary printing press during operation according to the preamble of claim 1.

Die US 15 62 010 zeigt eine schwenkbare, einen Zylinderspalt abdeckende winkelförmige Schutzleiste.DE 36 01 539 A1 discloses a device for cleaning a transfer cylinder of a printing press, with the aid of which dust and lint can be removed from a transfer cylinder during operation. Brushes are pressed periodically against the transfer cylinder, which is preferably a rubber blanket cylinder, dust and lint being swept away by the latter and being fed to a so-called lint catcher. This device is arranged on the periphery of the transfer cylinder and fastened on both sides to the printing unit side walls. It can be seen as a nuisance that this device is arranged on the periphery of the transfer cylinder, since this affects work on the machine. Furthermore, a cleaning device having a scraper is known from DE-AS 11 32 151. The scraper is arranged in the gusset between the blanket cylinder and the impression cylinder. A similar device is also known from US Pat. No. 2,961,953. US 35 08 711 discloses a cleaning device with a spray nozzle bar in the web inlet gap, that is in the gusset between the printing material web and the blanket cylinder. From DE patent 36 10 697 a conventional so-called finger protection spindle (protective strip) is known, in the form of an angle. As with all known cleaning devices, additional space is required for these. US 15 62 010 shows a pivotable, angular protective strip covering a cylinder gap.

Proceeding from this, it is the object of the invention to design and arrange a device for cleaning a transfer cylinder of a rotary printing press in such a way that it does not take up any additional space and does not interfere either during operation or during business interruptions. This object is achieved by applying the features of the characterizing part of claim 1.

In diesen zeigt jeweils schematisch.

Since protective strips are also required in the area of the inlet gaps for safety reasons, a significant advantage of the invention results from the fact that the means required for cleaning the cylinders are arranged in or behind the protective strip, where they practically do not interfere, and also those for Bracket and adjustment required means, for example, the levers for swinging out are only required once. An embodiment is explained with reference to the drawings. In these each shows schematically.
  • Fig. 1 shows the left part of a cylinder mounted in a printing unit wall to be cleaned and
  • Fig. 2 is a side view of the cylinder with a partial representation of the adjacent cylinder.

The protection and cleaning device 1 according to the invention is arranged on a blanket cylinder 3 mounted in a side wall 2 or can be adjusted to it. The blanket cylinder 3 can be supported on both sides, as indicated in FIG. 1, by means of pins 4. The protection and cleaning device 1 according to the invention can be designed in the same way on the left side of the blanket cylinder 3.

As is known, for example, from DE-PS 36 10 697, safety regulations require that so-called finger protection is provided in order to avoid accidents in the inlet gap of two cylinders rotating against each other. This usually consists of a pivotable or displaceable protective strip, which according to FIGS. 1 and 2 preferably has a rectangular or semicircular cross section. The protective strip 6 can be arranged on a crossmember 7, which is pivotally held on both sides within the printing unit side walls 2. According to the present invention, a suction pipe 8 is positioned on or in the crossmember 7, with which the dust, lint and dirt are sucked off from the brushes 9 arranged in the axial direction of the cylinder to be cleaned, or from the surroundings thereof, by means of the brushes 9 from the Printing unit cylinder 3, for example a cylinder carrying a blanket 5, is removed.

The suction pipe 8 is connected to a flexible, schematically indicated hose 10, which can lead to a suction device (not shown) via the printing unit side wall. For turning the protective and cleaning device 1 on and off, a pivotable lever 11 is preferably provided on both ends at the ends, which is rotatably supported on brackets 12 on one side and one end of the cross member 7 is attached to the other side of each. On the one to be cleaned Blanket cylinder 3 is another cylinder 13 employed, which, depending on the construction of the machine, can be an impression cylinder, another blanket cylinder or, as in the present case, a plate cylinder 13. In the present case, a further blanket cylinder 14 is attached to the blanket cylinder 3, so that a printing medium, for example a paper web, carried out between the cylinders 3, 14 can be printed on both sides. It goes without saying that such protective and cleaning devices can also be attached to the further blanket cylinder 14.

When the cylinders 3, 13 rotate in the direction of the arrows 15, 16, an inlet gap 19 is created. When the direction of rotation of the cylinders 3, 13 is reversed, an inlet gap 20 results on the other side. The protection and cleaning device according to the invention is therefore preferably double, ie provided at an inlet gap 19, 20, as indicated at 1 and 17.

According to the invention, the protective and cleaning device 1, 17 described above is therefore arranged in the region of the approximately triangular inlet gap 19 and / or 20. As a result, practically no additional space is required and the protection and cleaning device 1 or 17 does not interfere with handling on the printing press. Since, as already explained at the beginning, protective strips are also required in the area of the inlet gaps for safety reasons, a significant advantage of the invention results from the fact that the means required for cleaning the cylinders are arranged in or behind the protective strip, where they do not interfere paractically and the means required for mounting and adjustment, for example the levers 11, are also only required once. The setting or adjustment of the protective strip 6 and the brushes 9 is indicated at 18.

Within the framework of the general idea on which the invention is based, 9 can also be used instead of the brushes Cleaning elements are used, although it is advantageous, but not absolutely necessary, to work with a suction device. The protective strips 6 can be produced in a simple manner from angles or semicircular profiles. The pivoting of the levers 11 can be done manually or, preferably, with known electrical or mechanical devices, which also applies to the adjusting and parking device 18.
