  • Generic regulating devices are known from DE-PS 564 169 and DE-OS3 406 646. Furthermore, it is known from DE-PS-2 950 633 to move the reciprocating actuator of a fuel injection pump by an axial force, regardless of the position of the lever, into an end position which corresponds to the zero delivery of the pump piston. Locking the reciprocating actuator changes the position of the lever regardless of the current position of the rotatable member. As a result, the driver device is displaced from its rest position against the force of the return spring. The return torque then resulting on the lever acts via the rotatable member on the regulator of the internal combustion engine coupled to the regulating device and undesirably reduces the working capacity of the regulator.
