Description

Technisches Gebiet:Technical field:

The invention relates to a road cap with an essentially hollow cylindrical frame which is widened to form a ring on one end face to form a cover seat, and with a cover which is received by the cover seat with its jacket.

DIN 4055 bis 4059).Street caps are used to make it easier to access shut-off devices, drainage and control pipes from gas or water pipes in roadways and sidewalks. A street cap consists of an almost hollow cylindrical - slightly frustoconical - frame, which is widened in a ring at its upper end and has a shoulder, and a cover which is inserted into the ring-shaped part. At the opposite end, the frame can have a flange for the stable and pull-out-safe mounting in a roadway or a walkway. Street caps are the subject of several DIN standards (cf. DIN 4055 to 4059).

Stand der Technik:State of the art:

Straßenkappen bestehen aus Grauguß (vgl. DIN 4058) oder aus Polyurethan-Schaum (vgl. DE-U- 81 25 409). Street caps consist of gray cast iron (see DIN 4058) or of polyurethane foam (see DE-U-81 25 409). For gray cast iron street caps, the fit between cover and frame is low, which leads to the known "rattling" of the cover. This is not the case with polyurethane road caps. Rather, the lid can be inserted into the frame with a precise fit. The lid does not rattle in the frame. The replacement of gray cast iron street caps with those made of polyurethane requires the complete removal of the gray cast iron street cap, which then becomes scrap. In many cases, this is an unacceptable effort.

Darstellung der Erfindung:Presentation of the invention:

Hier will die Erfindung Abhilfe schaffen. The invention seeks to remedy this. The invention has for its object to provide a road cap in which the fit between the frame and cover is given without having to produce the entire road cap from polyurethane. According to the invention, this object is achieved in that the cover seat and / or the jacket are made of polyurethane.

Römpps Chemie-Lexikon Band 5 1975 S. 2774/2775).Polyurethanes are linear chain molecules created by polyaddition of diisocyanates to diols and contain the urethane group. Polyurethane foams are formed during polyaddition when water and / or carboxylic acids are present (cf. Römpps Chemie-Lexikon Volume 5 1975 pp. 2774/2775).

The road cap according to the invention has the properties of the road cap made entirely of polyurethane with regard to the accuracy of fit between the lid and the frame. Like this, it can be used instead of the gray cast iron street cap. They are used in exchange: the gray cast iron road cap is removed and a road cap according to the invention is used in its place. The removed road cap made of gray cast iron is then machined, provided with a cup-like recess in the area of the cover seat in an embodiment of the invention, and this is filled with polyurethane. A frame designed in this way can then be exchanged for the next gray cast iron street cap. If one is satisfied - which is sufficient in numerous cases - only with the replacement of the cover, which in the embodiment of the invention is formed from a disk-like middle piece made of gray cast iron and the annular jacket surrounding the middle piece made of polyurethane, the frame need not be removed; rather, the cover made entirely of gray cast iron can be replaced on the spot with the cover according to the invention. Street caps according to the invention with a cover seat and a jacket made of polyurethane can also be newly manufactured and used in the factory.

Kurze Beschreibung der Zeichnung:Brief description of the drawing:

An embodiment of the invention is shown in the drawing and will be described in more detail below. The only figure shows the view on a smaller scale, on the one hand, and an axial section of a street cap on the other.

Bester Weg zur Ausführung der Erfindung:Best way to carry out the invention:

The street cap chosen as an exemplary embodiment has a frame 1 into which a cover 2 is inserted. Both the frame 1 and the cover 2 are made of gray cast iron and polyurethane in the embodiment. It is possible to manufacture only the frame 1 or only the cover 2 from gray cast iron and polyurethane; the other part only made of gray cast iron. However, the latter does not lead fully to the advantages sought with the invention.

The frame 1 has an essentially hollow cylindrical, slightly conical middle part 11 made of gray cast iron. On one end of the frame 1, a ring 13 is formed on the central part 11 to form a cover seat 3. The cover seat 3 is formed by a cup-like recess 12 in the ring 13, which is filled with polyurethane. The cover 2 rests in the cover seat 3. A web 14 projecting into the cavity is formed on the inner wall of the central part 11 in relation to the recess 12, which is offset inward in the axial direction. With the help of the web 14, the cover 2 is captively attached to the frame 1. On the end face facing away from the ring 13, the middle part 11 merges into a flange 15.

The cover 2 is formed from a disk-shaped middle piece 21 made of gray cast iron and an annular jacket 4 surrounding the middle piece 21 made of polyurethane. For the support in the cover seat 3 and for stabilization, the jacket 4 is supplemented to a collar 23. It is possible on the inside of the Cover 2 reinforcement ribs. The outer surface 22 of the cover 2 lies flush with the end face 16 of the ring 13. The cover 2 has a recess 24 in the center for receiving actuating and holding members.
