Definitions
- the invention relates to elastic threads, produced by melt spinning block copolyether polyamides with a melting point of 170 to 260 ° C and with a base of 50 to 90 wt .-% of a polyamide, and a method for producing the elastic threads.
- Highly elastic threads such as rubber threads or elasthane are not suitable for many areas of application, either because of their too high elasticity or too little heat resistance.
- the high elasticity of the rubber in many cases makes it difficult to process the threads into textile fabrics on the existing machines.
- Thermoplastic block copolyether amides are known.
- DE-A-30 06 961 also describes thermoplastically processable polyether polyamides with a weight fraction of the polyether block of 8 to 60% by weight. It is mentioned that threads of high elasticity can be produced from such copolyamides. However, instructions for making the elastic threads are not shown.
- EP-A-0 187 607 also describes block copolyetheramides with melting points between 170 and 240 ° C., which have elastic properties and are suitable for extrusion. There is no indication that these polymers can also be used to produce elastic threads.
- the object of the invention is to produce elastic, melt-spun monofilament or multifilament threads which do not stick together and whose elasticity is not so high that they severely hinder the continuous processing into flat structures.
- High elasticity means reversible strains over 120%.
- the reversible elongation of the threads is 10 to 120%, based on the length of the smooth, untensioned thread.
- Reversible strains of 20 to 100%, preferably 30 to 80%, have proven to be particularly advantageous.
- Such a relatively low elongation has the advantage that the usual machines and processes can be used for processing into textile fabrics, whereas special precautions have to be taken on the processing machines or processes for rubber-elastic threads.
- monofilament threads can also be wound up without any release agent and without adhesion. In the case of multifilaments, there must be no gluing between the individual fibrils.
- Non-sticky multifilament threads are easy to process and have better usage properties in the end product, e.g. Firmness, color uniformity and grip on.
- polyamide component of a block copolyetheramide polyamide 6, polyamide 6.6, polyamide 12, polyamide 6.10, polyamide 6.12, or their random copolyamides with at least 90% homopolyamide content.
- any other known homo- or random copolyamide with a melting point between 200 and 300 ° C. can also be used.
- copolyether components are: polyoxymethylenes, polyethylene glycols, polypropylene glycols and polybutylene glycols.
- the threads can achieve a reversible elasticity that is 30 to 200% higher after a hydrothermal treatment. This is of particular interest if the elasticity of the finished fabric is to be increased.
- Hot water is expediently used as a means of increasing the elasticity.
- the water should have a temperature of 70 to 100 ° C and the treatment of the threads should be carried out almost without tension for 0.5 to 10 minutes.
- Example 1 10 kg of polyether amide according to synthesis EP-A1-0 187 607
- the fibrils After cooling the fibrils in the blower duct with air at room temperature over a distance of 175 cm, the fibrils are combined into a bundle of threads, which is wound up at a speed of 2000 m / min and then stretched to 1.3 times the length at 120 ° C becomes.
- the resulting thread has a rel. Viscosity (5.5 g polymer, dissolved in 50 ml 90% formic acid; measurement at 20 ° C) of 56 and a titer of 64 dtex. The reversible elongation is 15%.
- the threads produced according to Examples 4 and 7 above were relaxed in boiling water (98 ° C.) for 2 minutes, causing the elongation at break to increase from 58 or 55 to 110 or 118% and the reversible elongation (elasticity) of 40% each. increased to 70 or 105%.
- the elastic threads according to the invention are particularly suitable for the production of elastic flat structures such as swimsuits, corsetry and sports clothing.

Abstract
