Description

The invention relates to a chair, in particular a work chair with the features of the preamble of claim 1.

Chairs of this type are known. In such a work chair (DE-PS 2000 172), a gas pressure spring is articulated at the lower end of the vertical support beam and essentially parallel to it, the upper end of which carries the valve tappet carries the pivotably mounted mounting plate via an intermediate support member, on which the seat Backrest part is attached. This support member is penetrated by a substantially horizontally extending threaded spindle, the actuation of which the gas pressure spring can be adjusted relative to the pivotable mounting plate. This adjustment mechanism is not only structurally very complex, due to its large height it is hardly possible to create an aesthetically satisfactory solution. The same applies analogously to the armchair constructions known from DE-OS 2501 673 and from DE-GM 7311 376.

In order to counter the last-mentioned disadvantage in particular and to create an adjustment mechanism with a low overall height, it has therefore already been proposed to arrange the gas pressure spring at an angle and to transmit the forces which can be applied by it to the mounting plate or the seat part via a lever system. Such an embodiment is described in DE-OS 2836 216. Here, the mounting plate on its front face is pivotally mounted about a horizontally lying axis on a laterally projecting support bar. The mounting plate is supported on its area facing away from the pivot axis and adjacent to the backrest part by a gas pressure spring, to which a pressure spring has additionally been slid. To actuate a valve integrated in the gas pressure spring, the latter has a valve tappet at one end. The valve tappet end of the gas pressure spring is operatively connected to a two-armed lever which is pivotally mounted. One lever arm is connected to the tension or pressure element, which is articulated at the end to a pivotable actuator. This adjustment mechanism as such has a low overall height, so that the underside of the chair can be designed in a way that satisfies the eye, but the lever system required here is very complex and complex, which must be regarded as a disadvantage.

The work chair according to US Pat. No. 2,859,799 is also to be mentioned here. Here, the mounting plate carrying the seat part is supported with a helical spring in relation to a cantilevered support bar, a lever mechanism also being provided here between the seat part and the support bar. This helical spring can be biased more or less via a threaded spindle through which it is penetrated, as a result of which the starting position to be assumed by the seat part can be changed. Apart from the fact that the spring behavior of the seat part is dependent on its respective initial position, the threaded spindle provided for this setting or the handwheel connected with it is very difficult to access for the user of the chair. A similar construction is also shown and described in DE-OS 2001 097, for which what has been said above applies analogously.

The invention is now based on a chair of the type mentioned and has set itself the goal of designing the adjustment mechanism so that it can be made robust and economical with a low overall height, so that the underside of the seat part can be designed in an aesthetically satisfactory manner can and that care is also taken that the handle strips provided for the adjustment can be easily reached by the user of the chair even while maintaining his normal sitting position and can be actuated just as easily. To solve this complex problem, the invention proposes those measures that are the subject and content of the characterizing part of claim 1.

At the upper end of a vertically standing support tube 1, which is not here Stand shown is connected at the lower end, laterally protrudes a support bar 2, which here includes an acute angle with an imaginary horizontal plane and is directed upwards. A mounting plate 3, to which a seat-backrest part (not shown here) is fastened, is pivotally mounted with its end face at the front end of the support bar 2 about a horizontally lying axis 4. The support beam 2 shows a plan view (FIG. 2) of an essentially isosceles, triangular shape and is formed by a laterally raised, flanged edge 5 as an upwardly open shell, this cup-shaped support beam 2 thus formed with its tapered section on the support tube 1 is attached. On the freely projecting section of the support spar 2, two aligned, horizontally lying pipe sections 6 and 7 are provided which penetrate the edge 5 and whose inner end are spaced apart and which have sections within the edge 5 with the support spar 2 by means of clamping tabs 8 and 9 are firmly connected. Those parts of the pipe sections 6 and 7 which lie between the clamping tabs 8 and 9 and the respectively adjacent edge 5 of the support spar 2 have bearing eyes 10, 11 which can be freely pivoted in a plane which is at right angles in FIG Drawing level stands. Threaded bores 12 are provided for receiving fastening screws with which the mounting plate 3 can be fastened to these bearing eyes 10 and 11. In Fig. 2, the outline of the mounting plate 3 is indicated by a dash-dotted line 3 '. Between the tube pieces 6, 7 on the one hand and the vertical support tube 1 on the other hand there is a bearing block 13 which is fixedly connected to the support bar 2 and which is formed from two disc-like supports 14 and 15 spaced apart from one another. This bearing block 13 now carries the lower end of a gas pressure spring 17. This lower end of the gas pressure spring 17 is connected to a block 16 which has shaft journals 18 on two opposite sides, which are held rotatably in the supports 14 and 15. The end of the gas pressure spring 17 received by the block 16 also has the valve tappet 19, by means of whose axial displacement the valve integrated in the gas pressure spring 17 can be actuated.

On the side of the supports 14 and 15 of the bearing block 13 adjacent to the pipe sections 6 and 7, a further shaft 20 is provided therein, with which a two-armed angle lever 21 is pivotally mounted. The arm of the angle lever 21, which runs essentially parallel to the support bar 2, lies against the valve tappet 19, the upward arm of the angle lever 21 is connected to an actuator 23 via a rod-like tension member 22.

This actuator 23 is fixedly connected to the end face of a shaft 24 which is rotatably mounted in the tube section 6. The outer end of this shaft 24 carries a pin 25 which projects through a transverse slot opening 26 in the outer part of the pipe section 6 and which projects radially with respect to this pipe section 6. On this outer part of the pipe section 6, a sleeve 27 can be pushed with a longitudinal slot 28 which, when the sleeve 27 is pushed on, positively engages the pin 25 which projects radially from the pipe section 6. This sleeve 27 is also fixed to a handle bar 29. The grip bar extends towards the support tube 1 and lies essentially parallel to the vertical central plane of the support bar 2.

The upper end of the gas pressure spring 17 carries a U-shaped yoke 30, the side cheeks of which are directed downwards. A screw 31, which is screwed into the housing of the gas pressure spring 17, secures this connection. The cheeks of the U-shaped yoke 30, which are directed downward, are pivotably articulated on downward-facing tabs 32 of the mounting plate 3. The upper end of the gas pressure spring 17 is connected to the mounting plate 3 in the area in which the imaginary vertical central axis of the support tube 1 intersects the mounting plate 3 or this connection point is close to this area.

Ihr oberes Ende liegt an der Unterseite des U-förmigen Joches 30 (Fig. 1) an.In the exemplary embodiment shown, the gas pressure spring 17 is enclosed by a helical spring 33 and this helical spring 33 rests with its lower end on the supports 14 and 15 of the bearing block 13. Its upper end lies against the underside of the U-shaped yoke 30 (FIG. 1).

Connected to the vertical support tube 1 and integrated into it is a further gas pressure spring 34 (for height adjustment of the seat surface), opposite the upper end of which the valve tappet 35 projects from this gas pressure spring 34. A second angle lever 37 is pivotally mounted on a further bearing block 36, which is fixedly connected to the support beam 2, with the horizontal arm of the lever 37 is in operative connection with the valve tappet 35 and the arm directed downward from the pivot axis 38 of the angle lever 37 is connected to a tension member 39 with a second actuator 40 which is fastened to the end face of a further shaft 41 which is in the second pipe section 7 is mounted in a completely identical manner, as has been discussed above in connection with the pipe section 6, the shaft 24 and the actuator 23 thereof. Again, a sleeve 27 'with a handle 29' and a longitudinal slot 28 'is provided, which have the same task and the same structure as the parts 27, 28 and 29, which were explained above.

From Fig. 2 it can be seen that the inner ends of the two pipe pieces 6 and 7 are spaced from each other and in the space thus recessed the actuators 23 and 40 are mentioned. The construction described in detail above is on a reduced scale and in a side view in Fig 3 shown. In this Fig. 3, a seat-back part 42 is shown in simplified form, which is firmly connected to the mounting plate 3. This seat backrest part 42 is, however, not upholstered and upholstered accordingly.

The representation according to FIG. 4 differs from the representation according to FIG. 3 in that the seat-back part is not formed in one piece. Here, the front part 42 'is separated from the actual seat-back part 42' and this front part 42 is firmly connected to the support bar 2 via a console 43 provided on the end face here. 4, the upholstery and the cover of the seat-back part 42 ', 42˝ is not shown. From these two Figures 3 and 4 it can be seen that the handle strips 29, 29 'are below the front region of the mounting plate 3, where they are easily accessible by the user of the chair without this having to change its normal sitting position significantly.

So much for the constructive structure of the facility. If the inclination of the seat-back part 42 is now to be changed when the chair is used as intended, the grip strip 29 is pulled up slightly, as a result of which the shaft 24 and the actuator 23 connected to it are pivoted in a clockwise direction (FIG. 1). Characterized the angle lever 21 is pivoted via the rod-like tension member 22, which in turn actuates the valve tappet 19, which can be pivoted upwards or downwards (about the axis 4) when the seat backrest part 42 is loaded or relieved accordingly. If the grip strip 29 is released again after reaching the desired inclination of the seat-back part 42, the valve tappet 19 returns to its original position, closes the valve installed in the gas pressure spring 17 and the setting of the gas pressure spring 17 that has been started is blocked. If the seat backrest part 42 is adjusted in height, this adjustment is achieved by actuating the handle bar 29 '. The sequence of movements of the associated construction parts (35-37-39-40-41) corresponds analogously to what has already been explained.

The coil spring 33 supports the action of the gas spring 17 connected in parallel. It is possible to design the upper part of the bearing block 13 such that it can be lifted off (via a lever linkage and an adjusting screw), so that the tension of this coil spring 33 can be changed.

A constructive solution of this type is illustrated in FIGS. 5 and 6, which correspond to the representations according to FIGS. 1 and 2, the same parts bearing the same reference numbers. To influence the bias of the spring 33, a two-armed lever 45 is provided here, the pivot axis 44 of which lies between the shaft journal 18 of the gas pressure spring 17 and the axis 4 of the pipe sections 6 and 7 and is arranged parallel to these. On its side facing the gas pressure spring 17 is the Lever arm designed in the manner of a fork 46 (FIG. 6), on the other lever arm a threaded spindle 47 engages, which can be actuated with the wing nut 48 or a corresponding handwheel in such a way that the lever 45 is turned clockwise or counterclockwise (FIG. 5 ), can be pivoted. Since the helical spring 33 rests with its lower end on the part of the two-armed lever 45 designed as a fork 46, the spring 33 is thereby more or less pretensioned. 6, the spring is indicated by a dashed circular line and it can be seen from this figure that the spring rests on the fork 46.

Wird nun die Griffleiste 29 nach oben gezogen, aus der Zeichenebene der Fig. 2 also nach oben, so schwenkt das Stellglied 23 (Fig. 7) im Uhrzeigersinn und über das Zugglied 22 wird der Hebel 21 verschwenkt mit den oben beschriebenen Folgen.1 and 2 or 5 and 6 in the embodiment according to FIGS. 1 and 2 or 5 and 6 it is necessary to grasp and pull up the grip strip 29 to change the inclination of the mounting plate 3, which, as soon as it is released, returns to its starting position, the embodiment shows 7 shows a variant in which the handle bar 29 is not only operable in the manner described, but is also held by itself in the pivoted-out position, so that the chair can be rocked without having to grasp this handle bar 29 . The representation according to FIG. 7 corresponds to that according to FIG. 1, with the same parts being provided with the same reference numbers here as well. Here, in this exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 7, the lever 21 is bound with two tension members 22 and 49, which are articulated essentially at the same point on the upright leg of the lever 21. The other end of the tension member 49 is fastened to the actuator 23, which is designed here as a disk, at a diametrical point — in relation to the axis 4 and the articulation point of the tension member 22. On the edge of the actuator 23 designed as a disc there is a notch 50 which interacts with a ball catch 51 fastened to the support rollers 2. If the handle bar 29 is now pulled upwards, ie upwards from the plane of the drawing in FIG. 2, the actuator 23 (FIG. 7) pivots clockwise and the tension member 22 pivots the lever 21 with the consequences described above.

The anchoring of the end of the tension member 49 fastened to the actuator 23 has so much play that this twisting movement of the actuator 23 does not exert any force on the tension member 49. If the grip strip 29 is released, it returns to its original position, under the effect of the gas pressure spring 17 exerted force. If the valve of the gas pressure spring 17 is now to be opened and this opening condition is to be maintained without the grip bar 29 being held firmly, then this is first pressed down (FIG. 2) until the ball catch 51 engages in the notch 50. The actuator 23 rotates counterclockwise (Fig. 7), but thereby exerts the same pivoting effect on the lever 21 as in the first case, the tension member 22, only that now when the handle bar is released, it is held by the holding action of the ball catch until it is pulled up again by manual intervention. As long as the valve of the gas pressure spring is open, the chair can be rocked by shifting weight.

In the exemplary embodiment as illustrated in FIG. 3, the seat-back part 42 changes its inclination in its entirety when the handle bar 29 is actuated as described above. 4, the part 42 'remains regardless of the respective inclination of the mounting plate 3 in its predetermined position.

In the embodiment shown, the coil spring 33 is penetrated by the gas pressure spring 17. The two springs are coaxial with each other. It is quite conceivable to arrange these springs side by side in the context of this invention. The design of the support bars 2 offers sufficient space for this. In the exemplary embodiment shown, the support beam 2 also extends obliquely to the support tube 1 over its entire projecting length. It would be conceivable and within the scope of the invention is the support beam To be formed angularly over its projecting length with a first horizontally lying section which directly adjoins the support tube 1 and a section which then rises obliquely upwards. To actuate the angle levers 21 and 37, rod-like tension members are provided in the exemplary embodiment described, which are skimmed over their length. Such tension members can be designed in a structurally simple manner. The use of such tension members here results from the use of angular levers 21 and 37 and their respective mounting relative to the valve lifters 19 and 35. In principle, it is also conceivable to use pressure members instead of tension members, which act on pivotably mounted levers, but this will result in Construction not simplified.
