Chair with an inclinable seat. There are chairs with an inclinable seat which have an articulated connection between the seat and the shaft that carries the seat, and a spring which counteracts the inclination of the seat.
In one type of these known chairs, a horizontal -S: helical spring is arranged directly under the seat, which is compressed in one direction, usually backwards, when the seat is inclined; a tilt of the seat in any other direction is impossible.
In the case of the chair with the seat that can be tilted with respect to the shaft and is articulated with the latter, the seat according to the present invention is at least partially supported on a support plate guided on the shaft. The support plate of the seat is expediently carried by a helical spring that surrounds the shaft and is supported on it, so that the seat can be inclined in at least two directions.
Several exemplary embodiments of the subject matter of the invention are shown in the accompanying drawing, namely: FIG. 1 shows part of the first exemplary embodiment in vertical section, FIG. 2 shows a plan view of FIG. 1, the seat plate being omitted, FIG. 3 shows part the second embodiment, in which an inclination of the seat is only possible in one direction, FIG. 4 shows part of a further embodiment with a ball joint to enable the seat to be inclined in all directions,
5 shows a part of the seat with the upper part of the shaft in vertical section of a further exemplary embodiment, FIG. 6 shows a plan view of FIG. 5, the seat plate being omitted, FIG. 7 shows part of a further embodiment in vertical section Embodiment with inner spring, and FIG. 8 in the vertical .Schnitt part of a further embodiment with outer spring.
In the first embodiment of FIGS. 1 and 2, 1 denotes the seat plate, which is screwed onto two seat supports 2 arranged parallel to one another. 3 is the shaft which carries the seat and which is articulated to the seat supports 2 by the pin 4. A sleeve 5 on which a support plate 6 is screwed can be displaced on the shaft 3. Furthermore, an externally threaded bush 7 is attached to the shaft 3, onto which a hand wheel 8 is screwed. Between the hand wheel 8 and the support plate 6, a coil spring 9 is used.
In the seat supports 4 pins 10 and 11 are mounted parallel to the pin, against which the plate 6 is pressed by the spring 9. By turning the handwheel 8 the tension of the spring 9 can be regulated.
If the person sitting on the seat 1 moves their weight backwards, for example after the pin 10, the seat describes a rotary movement around the pin 4 and the pin 10 presses the support plate 6 and the sleeve 5 downwards while being compressed the spring 9. A similar effect is obtained by moving the weight forward, in which case the pin 11 moves the support plate and the sleeve 5 along the shaft. Instead of the pins 10 and 11, rollers could also be provided.
The embodiment according to FIG. 3 differs from the above-described one in that the support plate 6 is connected to the latter by bending its edge 12 around the pin 11 as shown. Here through only an inclination of the seat by laying: the weight on the pin 11 he aims, as indicated by the arrow 11, an inclination of the seat. in the opposite direction is not possible.
In the embodiment according to FIG. 4, instead of the pin 4, a ball joint arranged coaxially with the shaft is provided, in that the upper end of the shaft 3 has a spherical surface 13 with which a correspondingly recessed plate 14, which is connected to the seat supports 2 is connected, cooperates. The support plate 6 is pressed against the plate 14 by the spring 9. This embodiment enables the seat to be inclined to all “S” sides, with the support plate 6 advantageously having a circular shape.
The seat 1 describes at an inclination in any direction a rotary movement in this direction around the center of the spherical surface 13 where he pushes the plate 6 and the sleeve 5 against the We effect of the spring 9 along the shaft 3 ver.
In the three mentioned Ausführungsbei play the inclination of the seat by the distance between the sleeves 5 and 7 is limited.
- In the embodiment according to FIGS. 5 and 6, the seat T is again screwed onto two seat supports 2 arranged parallel to one another. 3 is the support shaft on which the seat is mounted and which is connected to the seat supports 2 by means of a universal joint consisting of pivot pins 4 and 5 'arranged perpendicular to one another. A plate 14 is also firmly connected to the latter. The plate 14 rests on the support plate 6 which is carried by the sleeve 5 which is guided on the support shaft 3.
A pin 15 penetrates the support shaft 3 and secures a spring plate 16, which is slipped onto the pin, in its position, the bent-down edge of the Fe derteller prevents the pin from falling out. The sleeve 5 has slots 17 through which the pin 15 passes.
On the sleeve there is a handwheel 8 which is screwed onto the upper threaded part of the sleeve 5. The helical spring 9, which presses the support plate 6 against the plate 14, is inserted between the handwheel 8 and the spring plate 16. The tension of the spring 9 and thereby the contact pressure between the plates can be regulated by means of the handwheel 8.
The support plate 6 is out as a circular plate with a downwardly curved edge and has an asymmetrical shape with respect to the passage opening of the support shaft by being eccentric to the shaft. It is thereby achieved that the inclination of the seat in the various directions which, depending on the distance of the tipping point, is opposed to different levels of resistance.
For example, the inclination of the seat to the right in FIG. 5, as a result of the increased cornering of the bushing 5, has less resistance than the inclination to the left, and the support plate 6 will therefore be arranged so that the right-hand side of the in FIG corresponds to the rear side of the chair, since in most cases leaning back in the chair and therefore tilting the seat backwards should be easy, while tilting forwards or to the sides, which is only possible in exceptional cases,
greater resistance should be countered. In this version, however, not only the resistance is different, but also the deflections of the inclinations on the different sides are different, namely the deflection of the chair to the rear, which is the smallest resistance, is the greatest.
Instead of a circular support plate 6, a square plate could of course be used ver.
In the embodiment of FIG. 7, the seat 1 is screwed back onto two seat supports 2 arranged parallel to one another. The upper part of the shaft, which is connected to the seat supports 2 by a universal joint with two pins 4 and 5 'perpendicular to one another, is denoted by 3. With the latter, the plate 14 is also firmly a related party. The plate 14 is supported on the support plate 6, which is carried by a sleeve 5.
The sleeve 5 and support plate 6 are firmly mounted in the frame of the chair, which is indicated by dash-dotted lines. The shaft part 3 is guided inside the sleeve and has a threaded hole 15 into which the part 16 of the shaft is screwed.
In order to prevent the part 3 from rotating relative to the sleeve 5, a groove 17, into which a pin 18 fixed in the sleeve 5 protrudes, is arranged in part 3. Furthermore, a ring 19 is fixed by a .set screw 20 in the sleeve and forms an abutment for .das one end of the Fe of 9 surrounding the shaft part 16, the other end of which rests against a ring 21 felt in the sleeve 5, the ge against a thickened part 22 of .Schaftteils 16 is applied.
In the lower end of the sleeve 5, a sleeve 23 is guided and serves to guide the shaft part 16; a hand wheel 24 is screwed on the threaded end of part 1.6. In addition, a wing nut 8 is attached to the lower end of the shaft part 16, which serves to adjust the spring tension by allowing the shaft part 16 to be more or less screwed into the shaft part 3 through it.
If the seat 1 is tilted to either side under the influence of the body weight, the plate 14 tilts on the support plate 6 and the shaft: 3, 16 moves upwards under tension of the compression spring 9. By adjusting the handwheel 24, the stroke of the shaft 3, 16 when tilting the .Sitzes, which stood by the distance of the handwheel .2.4 is given from the lower edge of the sleeve 5, can be selected at will.
This embodiment has the advantage that the spring 9 and the moving parts are housed in a dust-proof manner within the sleeve 5.
The embodiment according to FIG. 8 has an outer spring 9 'instead of an inner spring compared to the one described above. For this purpose, the lower end of the sleeve 5 is provided with a thread and a washer 19 'is screwed onto this end, against which one end of the spring 9 rests. The other end of the latter is based on the handwheel 8 'which is screwed onto the lower end of the shaft part 16 provided with a thread. By adjusting the hand wheel 8 ', the pretension of the spring 9' can be changed.
The stroke limitation results from the adjustable distance between the lower end of the sleeve 5 and a sleeve 23 'resting on the handwheel 8'. (The operation of this imple mentation form is the same as that of FIG. 7).
While in the chair according to FIG. 7, the passage opening of the shaft lies in the symmetry axis of the plates 6 and 14, so that the inclination of the seat in different directions is opposed by an equally large resistance, according to the embodiment according to FIG. 8 plates 14 and '6 selected, which have an asymmetrical shape in relation to the point of passage of the shaft. In this case, the resistance that opposes the tilting of the seat in different directions, depending on the Ab etand of the tilt point from the shaft axis is different.
Instead of the universal joint 4, 5 ', the shaft part 3 could be provided with a simple Ver thickening, against which the plate 14 could lock in the inclined position in order to limit the inclination. It is even conceivable to omit the spring, since the seat can automatically be brought back from the inclined position to its starting position by the weight of the person resting on the chair.
The universal joint is two execution forms according to Fig. 7 and 8 with upward moving shaft when tilting less ger claimed than in the execution forms according to Figures 5 and 6, in which the shaft is fixed; the spring is also less loaded when the seat is tilted and a weaker spring can therefore be selected.
