  • a) résistance mécanique trop faible,
  • b) abrasion des fibres dans le chas de l'aiguille,
  • c) instabilité dimensionnelle due à l'impossibilité d'effectuer l'opération de tension et de fixation indispensable pour un 100 % filé de fibres.

On obtient donc un fil en tout point comparable aux meilleurs fils à coudre, mais avec un procédé beaucoup plus économique à mettre en oeuvre, puisque, au lieu de douze opérations successives nécessitées dans le système classique et énumérées ci-avant, sa fabrication ne néces­site que les cinq opérations suivantes :

  • 1) craquage
  • 2) étirage/mélange
  • 3) bancs à broches
  • 4) filature
  • 5) bobinage/épuration/épissurage.
