- the lower shell can have bristles, a pad or the like. have and are connected to the upper shell by the simple plug connection.
- the plug connection provided according to the invention can be realized in a simple manner in that the two shells have mutually adapted undercuts and projections. These can be snap-in or snap connections, in which the elasticity of the shells can be used.
- At least one projection on the upper shell can be designed as a manually operable locking member.
- the two shells can be closed by inserting the projections or undercuts into one another and then tilting one or the other shell and connected to one another by actuating the locking member.
- the locking member can be formed from a rotatable or pivotable handle and a locking lug attached to it or an eccentric. In this way, the locking member with a Bring the simple and short handle into the locked position.
- the shells preferably have a coordinate symmetry, the lower shell being connectable to the upper shell offset by 90 ° or 180 ° from the basic position.
- This embodiment is based on the knowledge that, in the case of floor cleaning devices, wear is preferred at certain points on the cleaning elements.
- these are, for example, the front narrow areas, in the case of a stick broom or scrubber, however, the front slow areas.
- the stability of the intermediate shell carrier is completely sufficient even in the case of very thin-walled shells with a wall thickness in the range of approximately 2 mm.
- one of the two shells can be provided with stiffening ribs or stiffening formations.
- the upper shell advantageously has a style housing that accommodates the handle of the device, which is designed as a stick.
- the lower shell has two or more further shells or cavities on its lateral boundaries to enlarge the fastening surface for the cleaning elements.
- the lower shell is preferably formed centrally with respect to the adjacent shells or cavities and congruent with the upper shell forming the stem housing, so that the same Handle housing a lower shell with side shells or cavities enlarging the mounting surface can be attached. In this way, for example, a large-area street broom or the like can be made from a room broom, which is generally relatively narrow.
- the cleaning elements are attached to the bottom shell of the lower shell by thermal melting.
- the connection can be made by welding. If this requirement is not met, the cleaning elements can be pressed into the soft plastic floor until they are firmly anchored after the plastic has solidified.
- cleaning elements in the form of bristles, fibers or also of fabrics, fleeces, tangled fibers or tangled wires can be fastened, the latter possibly being designed to be pillow-shaped.
- anchoring by thermal melting can be accomplished with any open surface structure of the cleaning elements.
- the bottom shell of the bottom shell on the outside at the attachment point of the bristle bundles can have strip-like or hump-like thickenings on which the bristle bundles are placed by one of the aforementioned thermal methods.
- the floor cleaning device shown in Figures 1 to 3 which can be designed for example in the form of a broom, scrubber or a wiper, has a handle 1 and a carrier 2, which is formed from a lower shell 3 and an upper shell 4.
- a carrier 2 which is formed from a lower shell 3 and an upper shell 4.
- cleaning elements (not shown) in the form of bristles, fibers, cushions or the like are fastened, while the bottom 6 of the upper shell 4 forms the back of the carrier 2 and at the same time is shaped into a handle housing 7, which Stem 1 takes up via a mechanical connection.
- the shells 3 and 4 are connected to one another via a plug connection.
- the shell 3 has 8 projections 9, 10 on its opposite, still reaching shell edges, which are optionally formed like strips.
- the upper shell 4 has on its downwardly extending shell edges 11 a groove adapted to the strip-like projection 9, so that the upper shell 4 comes into engagement with the lower shell 3 in an angular position.
- a manually operated lock 13 is provided, which is formed from a handle 14 and a locking lug 15.
- the handle 14 is designed as a twist grip. In the corresponding position of the carrier 14, the locking lug 15 engages under the projection 10 on the lower shell 3.
- the lower shell 3 and the upper shell 4 are congruent.
- 3 further shell-shaped depressions 16 are arranged on both narrow sides of the lower shell. As shown in FIG. 11, for example, these can also be closed to form cavities 17.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a floor cleaning device with a handle in the form of a handle or a handle and a connected to this, having cleaning elements, carrier, which consists of two with the open side facing and releasably connected, thin-walled plastic shells, of which in the use position upper shell is connected to the handle, while the lower shell has the cleaning elements.
Floor cleaning devices of the aforementioned type are used in the form of brooms, scrubbers, hand brushes or as wipers with cleaning elements in the form of a pad. The carriers of such cleaning devices are today predominantly made of plastic, the carriers being solid, receiving the cleaning elements in a firm or detachable connection on their underside and being provided with a handle or handle on their top. In the case of stylish devices, the carrier has a handle housing for this purpose, into which the handle is inserted, while the handle is molded directly onto the carrier in the case of hand brushes or the like. Due to the necessarily large use of plastic mass, the material costs are relatively high, which is why one has resorted to inexpensive regenerated plastics, foamable plastics or the like. The work cycles in the manufacture of such carriers are also correspondingly long, since relatively large masses have to be molded and - at least in the case of injection molding - have to be cooled for a long time, so that the machine utilization is poor. Attempts have also already been made to attach the cleaning elements, in particular if they are formed from plastic bristles, to the carrier by thermal methods, for example by welding or to anchor them to the carrier by thermal heating and pressing the bristles into the melt. Again, the large plastic mass and the relatively large area cause difficulties when heated.
In the case of hand brooms, it is known (US Pat. No. 3,008,165) to form the carrier in two parts, in that the back of the hand broom forms an injection-molded part together with the handle and the back is cup-shaped, while the other part is a relatively solid plate on which the Bristles or fibers are fastened in a conventional manner by plugging into holes. The bristle plate is connected to it by a central spreader pin that extends through it and is attached to the underside of the back shell. The bristle plate can be fixed in a certain position on the upper part by a corresponding design of the bristle plate and the back shell on the edge. The detachable connection is used in this case to replace the handle parts. In this embodiment, too, however, the use of mass is only insignificantly reduced compared to the conventional solid design.
The design mentioned at the outset is known for a floor mopping device (US Pat. No. 4,007,510), the support of which thus consists of two shells facing one another with the open side, a flat pad between the peripheral edges thereof is pinched. The upper shell, on which the style housing is also molded, is connected to the lower shell by means of two screws which are arranged on both sides of the stem housing. In addition, both shells are provided with a plurality of stiffening ribs, so that the two shells have a cassette-like profile. This cleaning device is only available in five parts - upper and lower shell, wiping pad and two screws - in terms of use, whereby a number of complicated steps are necessary to make the device functional. This has a disadvantageous effect both in the manufacture and assembly at the manufacturer, and in particular with the user of the device. A quick change of the cleaning elements is not possible.
The invention has for its object to form floor cleaning devices of the above-mentioned construction inexpensive in terms of production and assembly and useful in terms of use.
This object is achieved in that the two shells are connected by a plug connection in a self-locking design or with an additional, manually operable lock.
The training according to the invention has the advantage over the generic state of the art that the cleaning device in the case of a self-locking design of the plug connection consists of only two components, in the case of an additional lock of a maximum of three components, which can be easily plugged together and possibly one additional handle can be connected to each other when operating the lock. This results in an inexpensive production and assembly technology training in the manufacturing company, which is also user-friendly, since the parts can be easily separated from each other or reconnected if necessary, but a quick change is possible. A similarly simpler one Although connection is known in the hand brush described at the beginning (US Pat. No. 3,008,165), this requires a considerably greater use of plastic material. Compared to this known design, the invention has the further advantage that lower shells with new cleaning elements or lower shells with other cleaning elements can be attached to the same upper shell, which is not exposed to wear. For example, the lower shell can have bristles, a pad or the like. have and are connected to the upper shell by the simple plug connection. Up to now, if the entire carrier had to be thrown away in the event of corresponding wear, the design according to the invention makes it possible to keep the waste resulting from wear considerably lower by throwing away only the lower shell with the worn-out cleaning elements and replacing it with one with new cleaning elements. In contrast to the aforementioned prior art, no separate tool is required for loosening.
The plug connection provided according to the invention can be realized in a simple manner in that the two shells have mutually adapted undercuts and projections. These can be snap-in or snap connections, in which the elasticity of the shells can be used.
In another embodiment of the invention, at least one projection on the upper shell can be designed as a manually operable locking member. In this embodiment, for example, the two shells can be closed by inserting the projections or undercuts into one another and then tilting one or the other shell and connected to one another by actuating the locking member.
The locking member can be formed from a rotatable or pivotable handle and a locking lug attached to it or an eccentric. In this way, the locking member with a Bring the simple and short handle into the locked position.
The shells preferably have a coordinate symmetry, the lower shell being connectable to the upper shell offset by 90 ° or 180 ° from the basic position.
This embodiment is based on the knowledge that, in the case of floor cleaning devices, wear is preferred at certain points on the cleaning elements. In the case of a hand broom, these are, for example, the front narrow areas, in the case of a stick broom or scrubber, however, the front slow areas. By repositioning by 90 ° (in the case of a square plan) or by 180 ° (in the case of a rectangular plan), less worn areas can be brought into the positions which are particularly subject to wear, so that the cleaning elements - in particular when they are designed as bristles - become more uniform and complete be worn out, so that a cost-saving and waste-friendly training is obtained. In general, the stability of the intermediate shell carrier is completely sufficient even in the case of very thin-walled shells with a wall thickness in the range of approximately 2 mm. In the case of particularly heavy use of the cleaning device, one of the two shells can be provided with stiffening ribs or stiffening formations. In the case of a stick device, the upper shell advantageously has a style housing that accommodates the handle of the device, which is designed as a stick.
In a further embodiment of the invention it is provided that the lower shell has two or more further shells or cavities on its lateral boundaries to enlarge the fastening surface for the cleaning elements. Here, the lower shell is preferably formed centrally with respect to the adjacent shells or cavities and congruent with the upper shell forming the stem housing, so that the same Handle housing a lower shell with side shells or cavities enlarging the mounting surface can be attached. In this way, for example, a large-area street broom or the like can be made from a room broom, which is generally relatively narrow.
In a further preferred embodiment, the cleaning elements are attached to the bottom shell of the lower shell by thermal melting.
If the lower shell and the cleaning elements are made of plastics that are affine to one another, the connection can be made by welding. If this requirement is not met, the cleaning elements can be pressed into the soft plastic floor until they are firmly anchored after the plastic has solidified.
In the aforementioned manner, cleaning elements in the form of bristles, fibers or also of fabrics, fleeces, tangled fibers or tangled wires can be fastened, the latter possibly being designed to be pillow-shaped. In particular, anchoring by thermal melting can be accomplished with any open surface structure of the cleaning elements. In order to be able to make the shells as thin-walled as possible, it may be advisable to only partially melt the base of the shell, insofar as this is necessary for anchoring, without there being any deforming shrinkage.
If the cleaning elements are designed as bristle bundles, the bottom shell of the bottom shell on the outside at the attachment point of the bristle bundles can have strip-like or hump-like thickenings on which the bristle bundles are placed by one of the aforementioned thermal methods.

Fig. 11 beispielsweise im Blasverfahren hergestellt sein.1 and 3, the
In the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 4, which only shows the
In the embodiment according to FIG. 7, in which the
The
In the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 13, the
