Description

The invention relates to a device for cleaning objects that have come into contact with paint, consisting of a closed housing with a working chamber and a liquid collection tank, and a spray device arranged in the working chamber with a plurality of outlets which are pressurized with a solvent are supplied, the one outlet being connected to the object to be cleaned via a pipe.

Pneumatically operated paint spray guns have been known for a long time. These usually consist of the actual spray gun and an associated paint container, which is used to hold paint. There are three known variants of spray guns; in two of these known embodiments, the paint container is below, in the third known embodiment above the nozzle.

After the spraying process is completed, paint residues remain in the paint container and in the various parts of the spray gun, e.g. in the pipes and in the nozzle itself, but also on the outer casing of the spray gun and the paint container.

It is known to manually clean the spray gun and the paint container with solvent, the interior of the gun being freed from paint residues by spraying solvent.

However, a device for cleaning the interior of spray guns is also known, by means of which the trigger cock of the spray gun is held in the working position by spraying the solvent, the compressed air required for spraying also being made available by this device.

The disadvantage here is that both the casing of the gun, as well as the paint container and other containers must be cleaned by hand. On the one hand, this is time-consuming, and on the other hand, handling solvents is not good for the health of those involved.

A device for cleaning objects that have come into contact with paint is known from US Pat. No. 4,025,363, which consists of a closed housing with a working chamber and a liquid tank, and a spray device with several outlets arranged in the working chamber, which are supplied with a pressurized solvent, the one outlet being connected to the object to be cleaned via a pipe.

In this device, a collection tank for the used solvent is provided below the working chamber, which is then introduced into an underlying liquid tank with fresh solvent.

In addition, a special holder in the form of a dispenser holder is provided in this device, which holds the spray gun. The spray gun is connected via pipes to a piping system that supplies the solvent.

The disadvantage of this device is that considerable effort is required to hold the spray gun and additional devices are required to hold the paint container.

In addition, a washing tub with a funnel-shaped outlet is known from European patent application 34 290, which takes up a solvent and a liquid which is specifically heavier. In this washing tub, the objects are placed on a sieve and the solvent is washed around them.

The invention is therefore based on the object to provide a device for cleaning objects which have come into contact with paint, in which a thorough and automatic cleaning of the spray gun, the paint container and any paint mixing container from the inside and outside reliably and quickly with little construction and inexpensive is guaranteed.

According to the invention, the device is characterized in that the working chamber is separated from the liquid collecting tank by a permeable receiving device, the receiving device forming a surface which serves for receiving an object to be cleaned in a preferred position relative to the one outlet, and wherein the outlets extend through the permeable receiving device into the working chamber, the tube assigned to the one outlet being designed as a receiving tube which holds the object to be cleaned.

The other outlet has a spray head for a container to be cleaned, which is located above the receiving device.

Innerhalb des Stützrahmens 26 ist ein mit einem Scharnier versehener Deckel 32 vorgesehen, der auf einem umlaufenden Rand 27 des Gehäuses 12 ruht.1 shows the cleaning and reprocessing device 10 according to the invention, which has a housing 12 with an essentially rectangular upper part 14. The part 14 has at its lower end a circumferential shoulder 16, which is adjoined at the bottom by a lower part 18 designed as a rectangular cone, which represents the liquid tank and which ends with a bottom 20. In there is a drain valve 22 at the bottom 20. The chamber 12 is held by a plurality of supports 24a-d, an upper support frame 26 and a further circumferential support frame 28 on which the shoulder 16 of the upper part 14 is supported. The frame 26 also has a stiffening function for the housing 12, especially when the housing is made of plastic. Provided within the support frame 26 is a hinged cover 32 which rests on a peripheral edge 27 of the housing 12.

(Fig. 2)In the lower end of the lower part 18 there is a small amount of water 34, above which, due to the lower specific weight, a larger amount of solvent 36. The water 34 and the dissolved paint therein can be drained off by opening the valve 22. (Fig. 2)

A pump 40 is arranged on one of the supports 24a-d. This pump can be an air-operated pump, for example. The pump 40 has an inlet pipe 42, the end of which, provided with a filter 45, extends into the solvent located in the lower part 18, and an outlet pipe 44, which is located above the surface of the solvent 36. The outlet pipe 44 is connected to the spray device 52, which is shown in detail in FIG. 2. The pump 40 also has an inlet opening for compressed air.

Unterhalb des Geflechtes befindet sich die Sprühvorrichtung 52, die aus einem Halter 54 besteht, der an dem Unterteil 18 mittels Stützen 55 oder äquivalenten Mitteln befestigt ist.2, shown as a section through the housing 12, shows many of the essential features of the present invention. Above the solvent surface 36 there is a receiving device 50 which forms a surface 51 which serves to receive an object to be cleaned in a preferred position relative to the one outlet 62. The receiving device is designed in the form of a mesh, preferably a wire mesh, which rests on the circumferential shoulder 16 of the housing 12. Through this braid 50, a working chamber 72 is divided from the housing 12, below which the lower part 18, which is designed as a rectangular cone and in which the solvent 36 and the water 34 are located, is arranged. The object to be cleaned further, namely the spray gun container 82, rests on the surface 51 formed by the wire mesh. The spray device 52, which consists of a holder 54 which is fastened to the lower part 18 by means of supports 55 or equivalent means, is located below the braid.

The spraying device 52 has an inlet connection 56 connected to the outlet pipe 44 of the pump 40, as well as a plurality of outlets 60, 62 and 64a-d, as also shown in FIG. 1. These outlets extend through the openings 70a, 70b in the grid into the working chamber 72.

In particular, the spray device 52 has a first outlet 60 with a first tube 74 which extends through one of the openings 70a. On this tube 74 there is a spray head 80, over which a paint container 82 of a spray gun 84 can be placed, so as to be cleaned from the inside.

On the outlet 62 there is a receiving tube 90 which is provided with a step-shaped passage 92 for receiving the spray gun 84. The spray gun 84 shown in FIG. 2 is designed in the manner of a siphon; its inlet consists of a siphon tube 94 which is received and held by the step-shaped passage 92.

In addition, the receiving tube 90 can be provided at its open end 98 with a thread 96 for receiving an adapter for a gravity spray gun. Such adapters will be dealt with in detail later.

The type of siphon spray gun 84 has a trigger 100, a nozzle 102, an extension 106 of the siphon tube and a cap 104 for receiving a paint container 82.

Fig. 3 zeigt eine solche Abzugshahnsperre 110.To clean the spray gun, the pressurized solvent is pressed through the receiving tube 90 into the siphon tube 94 of the spray gun 84, the trigger valve 100 of the spray gun being held in the working position, which is achieved by a trigger lock 110. The trigger lock 110 is designed so that a larger number of differently designed trigger cocks can be held in the working position. 3 shows such a trigger lock 110.

There are the following types of trigger valves for spray guns: According to one embodiment (FIG. 2), a trigger valve 100 extends from the extension tube 106; 4, the trigger valve 130 may also be connected to a movable plunger 132 which regulates the amount of paint that is passed to the spray nozzle 136. This faucet mechanism creates a small, substantially rectangular opening 138 between plunger 132 and the adjacent parts of the spray gun. In the case of a gravity spray gun (FIG. 4 a), the paint is metered in by means of a trigger valve 140 that is movable relative to the hand knob 142 of the gun.

The trigger lock 110 is constructed so that it can be used to operate any of the three trigger valves described above. This trigger lock consists of a flat plate 112, which has a disk-shaped enlarged end 114 with a recess 116, which engages the extension tube 106 of the spray gun 84, as shown in FIG. 2.

The trigger lock 110 also has a plurality of notches 118 ac, which are arranged with different radius r1, r2 etc., from the recess 116 on the disk-shaped enlarged end 114, and which are designed so that they trigger the trigger 100 of the gun can record and operate. After the trigger 100 has been depressed by hand and the trigger lock is connected to the inlet pipe 106 by means of the recess 116, the trigger lock 110 is rotated so far that one of the catches 118 securely grips the depressed trigger 100 and holds it in the predetermined position .

The trigger lock 110 is intended to operate with the trigger mechanism of the gun shown in FIG are used, the pointed end 120 of the trigger lock 110 (when the trigger 130 is depressed) is inserted into the space 138, whereby the trigger 130 is also held in its predetermined position.

From Fig. 3 it can be seen that the trigger lock 110 has a bore 150 which receives a fastener 152 which is connected to one end of a chain 154. The other end of the chain 154 is fastened within the working chamber 72 by a further fastening element 156, for example on the housing 12 or the braid 50. The chain 154 has a hook 158, which makes it possible to place a loop around the handle 142 and the depressed trigger valve of the gravity spray gun (FIG. 4a), and thus to keep the trigger valve in the predetermined position.

As already mentioned, the spray device 52 has additional outlets 64a-d. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, these additional outlets have tubing extending from the holder 54 into the working chamber 72. These additional outlets 64, which are designed as pipelines, are each located in one of the inner corners of the rectangular upper part 14. Each of these outlets 64 is provided at the end with a spray nozzle 66, which brings about the cleaning of the surface of the objects located in the working chamber.

Die Reinigung des Farbbehälters 144 erfolgt in bekannter Weise.4a shows a gravity spray gun 139 in which the paint container 144 is located on the barrel 146. As already mentioned, this type of gun can also be cleaned by the device according to the invention, however an adapter 350 is required for this, which is also shown in FIG. 4a. To clean the gun, the paint container located on the inlet opening 351 is replaced by the adapter 350, as indicated by arrow 352. The adapter 350 can be connected to the gun by means of a thread or by simply pushing it into the paint inlet opening 351. The same procedure is followed if the ink inlet opening 351 is not arranged vertically but horizontally, ie laterally, on the gun barrel; the pistol is then held in the correspondingly pivoted position by the receiving tube 90. The ink container 144 is cleaned in a known manner.

Fig. 4b zeigt eine andere Ausführungsform des Adapters 350. Dieser Adapter 360 ist als hohles Paßelement 362 ausgebildet, dessen eines Ende 366 mit einer Öffnung 364 zur Aufnahme des Aufnahmerohres 90 versehen ist.4b shows another embodiment of the adapter 350. This adapter 360 is designed as a hollow fitting element 362, one end 366 of which is provided with an opening 364 for receiving the receiving tube 90.

The other end 368 of the fitting element 362 is designed such that the paint inlet opening 351 of the gun 139 can be plugged onto it. According to an advantageous embodiment, a ring 370 is provided to hold the gun in the raised position.

FIG. 5 shows the receiving tube 90, which is placed on the outlet 62 of the spraying device 52 and receives a hollow cylinder 202. This hollow cylinder 202 is located within a cylindrical sleeve 206, which is connected to the carrier 204, which receives the ink container 200. The carrier 204 here consists of a plurality of arms 210a-e, which extend radially from the cylindrical sleeve 206. Each of these arms has a groove 214a-d on its upper side 212 for receiving and fastening the edge 216 of a paint container 200. Typically, the rim 216 of a paint container consists of an inner lip 219 and an outer lip 221, as shown in Fig. 5a. The hollow cylinder 202 has a thread at its end 218, on which there is a spray nozzle 220 which sprays the interior of the paint container 200 with solvent. The spray nozzle 220 here consists of the vertical spray head 225, which preferably has a relatively wide spray pattern, and a further inclined spray head 227, which is directed onto the inner lip 219 of the edge 216 of the paint container 200, this spray head 227 having a very narrow spray pattern . In addition, additional spray heads 229 are provided on the spray device 52, which generate a concentrated spray jet which is directed onto the outer lip 221 of the edge 216.

In order to increase the cleaning effect, it appears desirable to produce a relative movement between the paint container 200 and the spray nozzle 220. This can be achieved in that the carrier is locked, whereas the spray nozzle rotates on the end 218 of the hollow cylinder 202. Such rotation occurs in response to the solvent sprayed under pressure against the carrier 204 or the rim 216 of the paint container; the rotation therefore takes place for the same reason as with a lawn sprinkler.

The same result is obtained if the spray nozzle is firmly connected to the hollow cylinder 202 by the thread 218 and the carrier rotates relative to the spray nozzle 220. The sleeve rotating on the receiving tube 90 is designed as a liner. If necessary, a separate sleeve 207 can be provided between the cylindrical sleeve 206 and the receiving tube 90. Below and at a distance from the carrier 204 is a liquid nozzle 230, which can be attached to the rectangular upper part 14 of the chamber or directly to the holder 54 by means of an extension arm. This nozzle 230 is connected to the outlet opening 47 (FIG. 2) of the pump 40 and receives the liquid under pressure. The pressurized liquid flowing out of the nozzle 230, when striking the arms 210 of the carrier 204, causes the carrier to rotate about the hollow cylinder 202 relative to the fixed spray nozzle 220. Via the outlet opening 47, the nozzle 230 can alternatively be operated with compressed air or with pressure standing solvent are supplied.

In this case an adapter 240 provided with a tip is provided, which extends from the outlet arranged in the holder 54 60 is included. The adapter has a shoulder 242 on which the sleeve 206 of the carrier 204 rotatably rests. The sleeve 206 acts as a liner and allows the carrier to rotate on the adapter 240, as previously described. There is a spray nozzle 220 on the adapter 240, with two angled spray heads 227, 241, the spray head 241 producing a relatively wide spray pattern. Conversely, the carrier 204 can also be stationary and the spray nozzle 220 can be rotatably attached to the end of the adapter 240.

Fig. 6 zeigt eine weitere Ausführungsform der Erfindung. Here, one or more brushes 250 are provided, each arranged on a flexible rod 252, which, due to the flexible fastening, exert a resilient force on the inner lip 219 of the edge 216 of the paint container 200. According to one embodiment, the brushes are connected to the spray nozzle 220, so that when the spray nozzle 220 rotates, it rotates relative to the carrier 204 and thereby removes solvent and paint from the lip 219. The same effect is achieved when the carrier 204 rotates and the spray nozzle 220 stops. In addition, due to the slightly oblique pressure of the brushes on the edge 216 of the paint container, this container is additionally fixed on the carrier 204. The exact number of brushes and the orientation of the brushes can be varied as required.

Fig. 7 zeigt eine weitere Ausführungsform der Erfindung. Here, the carrier 204 with the arms 210 is arranged at an angle relative to the vertical. 5 and 6, on the one hand the carrier 204 can be rotated and on the other hand the spray nozzle 220 can be rotated, the other part being fixed in each case.

The advantage with this embodiment is that the solvent and the dissolved paint, which have accumulated, for example, in the lip 219 of the edge 216, are thrown around in the paint container 200 by the rotational movement and thereby fall through the openings in the carrier. When the spray nozzle is stationary, it is advantageous to point the spray nozzle 227 preferably against the erected part of the edge 216.
