Definitions
- the invention relates to a multi-hull boat, in particular a catamaran or trimaran, which has elongated hulls of different cross-sectional configurations designed as buoyancy bodies, the thickness of which increases continuously in the horizontal direction from front to aft up to a hull point of greatest height and width, and continuously decreases therefrom down to the stern part, whereby the front hull end forms a bow-shaped bow tip and the deck surface is laterally more curved, and in which the hulls are connected to one another by means of cross members and a deck is arranged between the hulls.
- the object of the invention is to design a multi-hull boat of the generic type in such a way that it is simple and quick to assemble and overall has good stability and is optimally safe to sail high speed and does not pose a risk of capsizing if a fuselage is immersed.
- each hull consists of a fuselage body whose underside keel extends with a largely constant thickness from the bow tip to the stern and is provided in the region of the middle third of the fuselage with a middle fin
- the deck surface in the longitudinal direction of the fuselage in the middle third of the fuselage is formed horizontally and is curved to the bow and to the stern to the waterline
- the fuselage side surfaces of the bow to the stern have a different curvature such that in the vertical cross section the strongly curved deck surface extends approximately over the area of the upper horizontal third of the fuselage and then in middle horizontal hull third connects a surface section, which is, however, just slightly convex in comparison to the deck surface and whose curvature varies in the individual cross sections from the bow tip to the stern and that in the lower horizontal third hull merges into a strongly arched surface section that extends to the keel, with the thickest hull point in the middle third of the trunk and from there af
- the hull shape provided according to the invention results in an extraordinarily high initial stability which, in contrast to the properties of the hulls used in conventional multi-hull boats, is maintained even at high speed.
- the hull shape ensures a balanced relationship between sail pressure and lateral area in a sail vehicle, so that optimal course stability is given. Due to the provided, specially designed hull point of greatest height and width, it is further ensured that the front part of the hull never dips into the water surface and thus does not impair the safety of the entire sailing vehicle.
- the special design of the top edge of the fuselage ensures that the leeward-side fuselage can dive under water without being slowed down.
- the fuselage according to the invention has considerably improved properties, is not subject to the risk of immersion or undercutting, and produces a high level of buoyancy at the point of its largest cross section. With good stability, a high sailing speed can be achieved, even with optimal safety for inexperienced sailors. It is also of particular importance that the height of the central fin is designed such that the flow to the rudder takes place without swirling. As a result, the desired high initial stability of the fuselage is achieved and it is ensured that there is a rapid transition to rapid fuselage sliding without the fuselage becoming stuck.
- the plug-in connections between the hulls and the crossbars also enable quick assembly and disassembly of the multi-hull boat. Due to the arrangement of the hook-shaped holders, the hulls and cross beams are connected to each other with sufficient torsion-resistance when the deck is installed. This dimensional stability is further increased when bracing a mast on the hulls.
- the multiple hull boat shown in FIG. 1, which is designed as a catamaran 20, consists of two hulls 1 which are connected to one another by means of a front cross member 13 and a rear cross member 14.
- a holding bush 25 is provided for receiving a mast.
- the end portions 26 of the cross facing the inner fuselage side surfaces 7 Traverses 13, 14 are inserted into sockets which are laminated into the hulls 1.
- a schematic representation of these bushings 19 is shown in FIG. 8.
- a rudder 12 is articulated at the stern 3 of the hulls 1.
- an eyelet 36 is provided which, in cooperation with another eyelet 37 arranged on the fuselage 1, serves to brace a mast (not shown in more detail).
- the deck 24 is designed as a two-part tarpaulin 29.
- the outer edge portions 32 of the tarpaulin parts 30, 31 are fastened to the hook-shaped holders 23.
- the butt-end portions 33 of the tarpaulin parts 30, 31 are braced together by means of a line 38.
- the hulls 1 are pressed onto the end sections 26 of the cross members 13, 14, so that the catamaran 20 is sufficiently stable without special screw connections.
- recesses are provided in the fuselages 1 by means of flaps, in which the screw connections for fastening the cross members 13, 14 to the fuselage 1 are made.
- the crossbeams 13, 14 are telescopically steplessly displaceable, so that a catamaran 21 of different widths can be produced.
- the crossbeams 13, 14 can then be lengthened again, so that the hulls 1 are again large keep their distance from each other. This improves the stability of the catamaran 21.
- the deck 24 is designed as a foldable plate 35 which is detachably connected to the cross members 13, 14.
- lounges and a chamber for a motor drive can be provided in the hulls.
- a catamaran 22 is shown schematically, which can optionally be operated as a motor boat.
- the deck 24 is formed by a plate 34 which has a recess in the central area. This recess is assigned to a longitudinal cross member 27 between the front cross member 13 and the rear cross member 14.
- a holding device 28, to which a motor can be attached, is arranged in the longitudinal cross member 27. With the holding device 28, the motor, not shown, can be moved parallel to the longitudinal axis of the catamaran 22, so that the catamaran 22 can always be optimally adjusted.
- the hull 1 of a multi-hull boat according to the invention has an elongated shape which extends aft from the bow tip 2 to the stern 3.
- the fuselage 1 consists of an elongated fuselage body 4 of different cross-sectional configuration, configured as a buoyancy body, as shown in the individual cross-sectional representations. 4a to 4h can be seen.
- a keel 5 is provided on the underside of the fuselage body 4.
- the keel 5 is provided on the underside with a center fin 6.
- the actual fuselage body 4 of the fuselage 1 extends from the bow tip 2, which is indicated in a cutting shape, aft over a bulbous fuselage 1D of greatest height and width, approximately in the middle third of the fuselage 17, with the following decrease menden cross sections to a constricted in the vertical extension, lying in the rear third of the fuselage 18 fuselage 1 H, which forms the rear 3.
- the outer contour profile of the fuselage body 4 is not only shaped by the special cross-sectional design (FIGS. 4a to 4h), but also by the contour profile in the area of the top deck surface 8, the fuselage side surfaces 7, 9 on both sides and the lower boundary edge 10 of the fuselage body 4 forms the transition between the hull body 4 and the keel 5.
- the fuselage 1 has an essentially identical structure at the front and rear.
- the deck surface 8 of the fuselage 1 falls from the middle fuselage third 17 forming the middle section of the fuselage 1 to the bow tip 2 and the stern 3 and is curved at the side. This ensures good water drainage from the bow tip 2 to the stern 3 and prevents the bow from being immersed.
- the two fuselage side surfaces 7, 9, which extend from the top surface 8 down to the lower boundary edge 10 of the fuselage body 4, run from top to bottom in the area of the front and rear fuselage thirds 16, 18 in sections approximately flat, but slightly convex, whereby the particular course in each case can be seen from the individual cross-sectional representations (FIGS. 4a to 4h) according to FIG. 4.
- the lower boundary edge 10 of the fuselage body 4 runs horizontally and parallel to the deck surface 8 in the middle fuselage third 17.
- the height of the fuselage body 4 defined thereby increases from the front to the aft up to the fuselage point 1 D of greatest height and width and then aft again.
- the different cross-sectional configuration of the fuselage body 4 which is predetermined as a result of the configuration of the top surface 8, the two fuselage side surfaces 7, 9 and the lower boundary edge 10, is clearly the individual cross-sectional representations according to. 4a to 4h.
- the cross section of the fuselage body 4 is designed in such a way that its thickness increases horizontally from front to rear approximately in the area close to the deck and also at medium height up to the fuselage point 1 D of greatest height and width and then continuously decreases again to the rear 3.
- the configuration is preferably such that the thickness of the fuselage body 4 is reduced from the fuselage location 1 D of greatest height and width to the rear part 3 to less than 1/3 of the greatest fuselage width.
- the extent of the increase in the cross-sectional area or the thickness of the fuselage body 4 in the area of the cross sections 1 A to 1 D is greater than the extent of the decrease in the respective cross-sectional area or thickness of the fuselage body 4 in the area of the cross sections 1 D to 1 H.
- the same or similar hull cross-sectional configuration as in the area close to the deck and at half the height of the hull prevails, but with the difference that the respective dimensions are different.
- the cross-sectional design of the hull 1 is such that the greatest possible buoyancy is achieved in the area of the center of gravity of the sail.
- the porridge lies in the keel area teste or thickest hull point in the middle third of the fuselage 17, this widest fuselage point from there decreases sharply aft to the respective lower boundary edge 10 of the fuselage body 4.
- FIGS. 5 to 7n The geometrical relationships on the fuselage 1 are illustrated in FIGS. 5 to 7n using the example of a fuselage 1 that has been designed.
- the total length of fuselage 1 is 450 cm. It is composed of two fuselage shells 48 which are glued together.
- the dimensions of the different sections of the fuselage shown in the table below illustrate its contour.

Description
The invention relates to a multi-hull boat, in particular a catamaran or trimaran, which has elongated hulls of different cross-sectional configurations designed as buoyancy bodies, the thickness of which increases continuously in the horizontal direction from front to aft up to a hull point of greatest height and width, and continuously decreases therefrom down to the stern part, whereby the front hull end forms a bow-shaped bow tip and the deck surface is laterally more curved, and in which the hulls are connected to one another by means of cross members and a deck is arranged between the hulls.
In such known multi-hull boats, there is the disadvantage that the hulls develop little buoyancy in the forward hull section. As a result, when used as a sailing vehicle, particularly in the case of larger winds, it cannot be prevented with certainty that the hull is immersed in water, that is to say undercuts. This affects the safety of the entire sailing vehicle. In particular, there is a risk of capsizing quickly. Another disadvantage of smaller multi-hull boats of the generic type in particular is that the connection of the cross members to the hulls requires screw connections. Disassembling and assembling such multiple hull boats is therefore cumbersome.
The object of the invention is to design a multi-hull boat of the generic type in such a way that it is simple and quick to assemble and overall has good stability and is optimally safe to sail high speed and does not pose a risk of capsizing if a fuselage is immersed.
According to the invention, the object is achieved in that each hull consists of a fuselage body whose underside keel extends with a largely constant thickness from the bow tip to the stern and is provided in the region of the middle third of the fuselage with a middle fin, the deck surface in the longitudinal direction of the fuselage in the middle third of the fuselage is formed horizontally and is curved to the bow and to the stern to the waterline, the fuselage side surfaces of the bow to the stern have a different curvature such that in the vertical cross section the strongly curved deck surface extends approximately over the area of the upper horizontal third of the fuselage and then in middle horizontal hull third connects a surface section, which is, however, just slightly convex in comparison to the deck surface and whose curvature varies in the individual cross sections from the bow tip to the stern and that in the lower horizontal third hull merges into a strongly arched surface section that extends to the keel, with the thickest hull point in the middle third of the trunk and from there aft within the rear third of the trunk decreases sharply up to a transition line between the trunk body and keel, that further in the upper third of the trunk into which one hull side surface sockets are used as connectors for the cross members and on the other fuselage side surface holding means for releasably fastening the deck are arranged.
The hull shape provided according to the invention results in an extraordinarily high initial stability which, in contrast to the properties of the hulls used in conventional multi-hull boats, is maintained even at high speed. The hull shape ensures a balanced relationship between sail pressure and lateral area in a sail vehicle, so that optimal course stability is given. Due to the provided, specially designed hull point of greatest height and width, it is further ensured that the front part of the hull never dips into the water surface and thus does not impair the safety of the entire sailing vehicle. The special design of the top edge of the fuselage ensures that the leeward-side fuselage can dive under water without being slowed down. Overall, the fuselage according to the invention has considerably improved properties, is not subject to the risk of immersion or undercutting, and produces a high level of buoyancy at the point of its largest cross section.
The plug-in connections between the hulls and the crossbars also enable quick assembly and disassembly of the multi-hull boat. Due to the arrangement of the hook-shaped holders, the hulls and cross beams are connected to each other with sufficient torsion-resistance when the deck is installed. This dimensional stability is further increased when bracing a mast on the hulls.

The multiple hull boat shown in FIG. 1, which is designed as a
The
Hierdurch wird die Stabilität des Katamarans 21 verbessert.2 shows a further multiple hull boat designed as a
The
In Fig. 3, a
Fig. 4a bis 4h ersichtlich ist. The
Fig. 4a bis 4h zu entnehmen.
In the area of the
The
The design of the fuselage, which is clearly shown in the drawing and described in detail above, allows a different arbitrary mast arrangement in the front, middle or last fuselage third 16, 17, 18 and also enables different sail training without having to provide a sword. The
The
It is possible to provide a bridge structure on the
