- Each rope generally crosses the frame right through, passing inside a hole provided for this purpose.
- the base of the basket located near the handle, generally forms a "bridge" supporting the central longitudinal cords.
- the subject of the invention is a device for damping the vibrations of the stringing of a racket and the noise which results thereby making it possible to overcome this drawback. It is constituted by at least one flexible annular membrane, pierced with an orifice of diameter smaller than that of the rope, and fixed respectively in one of the holes of at least the lower part of the basket, or bridge, holes intended for each to deliver passage to the rope.

- each rope is fixed to the basket 3 by passing through holes 8 in this frame, and more precisely in tubular parts 9, or “barrels", or eyelets, in polyamide for example, fixed in these holes.
- a flexible annular membrane 10, made of elastomer for example is attached, glued or force fitted, in the barrels 9 relating to the longitudinal ropes 6, and at least in the central part of the bridge 4.
- all the barrels 9 relating to the longitudinal strings 6, whatever they are, are each fitted with a membrane 10.
- each membrane 10 is of smaller diameter than that of the cord. It is therefore strongly pinched by the membrane.
- each membrane 10 is fixed towards the end of the barrel 9, that is to say of the bore 8, situated towards the inside of the basket 3.
- each membrane 10 can be produced at the same time as the associated barrel 9, by bi-injection, overmolding or any other process.
- barrels 9 could be absent, in which case each membrane would be fixed directly in the corresponding bore 8, which would then have the same internal diameter as the barrel 9.
- the barrels 9, each equipped with their membrane 10, can be produced individually, but, as shown in FIG. 2, they can also be produced in a single molding piece in groups of two or more.
- the bridge 4 is equipped, in its main central part with four rope jumpers 11, molded in one piece and shaped as shown to allow passage to the longitudinal rope.
- both the transverse and longitudinal strings stretched along the lateral parts of the basket 3 pass through successive barrels 9 which are formed by molding in one piece with a common strip 12, carrying said barrels, and fixed, as shown in a groove 13 in the outer part of the basket 3.

- the membrane 10 may have not J conical double-entry.
- FIG. 5 shows the same barrel 9, after passage and tension of the longitudinal rope 6. It can be seen that the membrane 10 is strongly deformed towards the inside of the racket and that, the central orifice 14 having been greatly enlarged by force by the passage of the cord 6, a permanent contact zone has been created between the membrane and the cord.
- the invention is of course not limited to the embodiment which has just been described by way of example. It applies in particular to the damping of transverse as well as longitudinal strings.
