Definitions

  • the invention relates to an eluent pack made of plastic-coated carrier material made of paper or the like, in which the side walls, the lid and the bottom are connected to one another via weld seams and / or folded edges and in the lid or the side wall an opening device is attached which has a punched-out hole has sealing overlapping cover strips.
  • plasticizer packs of this type there are the known cuboid packs used for milk, in which the lid and base are connected to the side walls by fold lines and have double-walled triangular fields connected to the inside of the pack on both sides.
  • Numerous opening device proposals have been published in others and also in these types of plasticizers. These opening devices must be easy to handle for the end user, they must remain liquid-tight until the first opening even when the pack is more heavily used and filled and should be resealable as far as possible.
  • the pack manufacturers have developed complex packs and manufacturing processes to achieve these opening devices.
  • an eluent pack of the type mentioned at the outset is known from US-A-3,900,155.
  • a cover strip sealingly overlapping the punched hole is placed with the gripping tongue loosely projecting downwards over the pouring edge and deep-drawn in the area of the punched hole in such a way that the surface which essentially covers the hole comes to lie inside the pack and is bulged at the edges of the hole.
  • This circumferential bead can facilitate the reclosing of the opened package. This bead even serves for a relatively tight reclosure after the package has been opened.
  • the object of the invention is therefore to provide an eluent pack of the type mentioned at the outset, in which an opening device can also be produced reliably and inexpensively in a high-performance machine (large number of units per unit of time).
  • the cover strip consists of three-dimensionally molded plastic and its edge areas molded as double flanges are welded to both the outside and the inside edges of the punched hole, covering these on both sides, and that one piece is welded on the pull tab molded onto the cover strip protrudes vertically from the cover strip in the area of the hole.
  • the new superplasticizer package therefore has a three-dimensional plastic strip with edges around the perforated edges Double flanges on the one hand and a vertically protruding pull tab on the other. Only with the pull tab located in the area of the hole can an area within the hole be torn out of the cover strip, so that the double flanges still protectively cover the end of the hole when the liquid is poured out, even after the pack has been opened.
  • this three-dimensional design can be achieved with the double flanges and the pull tab, a tear line preferably also being circular or oval in the hole area in the cover strip.
  • the injected, three-dimensionally designed cover strip connects to the edges of the punched hole on the outside and inside and thus adheres firmly to the punched hole.
  • the spraying technique used according to the invention also makes it possible to form the pull tab in one piece in the vertically protruding shape, so to speak three-dimensionally.
  • pull tabs are known per se, which are designed in one piece with a stopper.
  • any suitable shapes of pull tabs can also be provided for the new superplasticizer pack.
  • the pull tab will have to be arranged more towards the edge of the hole on the cover strip, so that when this pull tab is pulled up, the tearing process begins in the area of the hole edge and a larger opening can be exposed by tearing into the opposite side.
  • the pull tab itself can also be provided with a triangular tearing tip, at which tearing begins, so that a larger hole is formed in the cover strip by pulling up the pull tab.
  • the cover strip in the region of the punched-out hole is a thin film and the pull tab is designed in the form of a flat field.
  • the conditions of tightness and logical and easy opening ability of the cover strip mentioned at the outset are also ensured if the cover strip is formed only as a thin strip while saving material, for example with a thickness of 0.3 to 2 mm, preferably 1 to 1.5 mm .
  • the cover strip can be made thicker when using a corresponding shape, so that the edges of the punched-out hole on the outside and inside are covered by strong round webs.
  • the pull tab is configured to stand essentially flat in the manner described, a particularly simple injection molding tool can be used, in which the lower mold half is designed in one piece as well as the upper mold half in the direction of the pull tab. If the pull tab is parallel to the main surface of the cover strip has running parts, the outer shape would have to be divided again. In the case of the inventive measure of the flat pull tab mentioned above, it is even possible to save the division of one mold half into two.
  • the invention also relates to a method for producing a plastic packaging material made of paper or the like, in which the side walls, the lid and the bottom are connected to one another via welds and / or fold lines and an opening device is attached in the lid or the side wall which has a cover strip sealingly overlapping a punched-out hole, the flat-lying coated paper web being drawn off from a supply roll, shaped into a tube, filled with flow agent, divided by transverse sealing seams, separated and formed into packs.
  • the invention has for its object to simplify the manufacture of an eluent pack in such a way that, despite high performance (large number of pieces per unit of time), perfectly sealed packs can be produced inexpensively with easily opening pouring devices.
  • the method for achieving this object is characterized in that the hole for the opening device is punched in register for printing and / or the fold line pattern before or after deduction from the supply roll in the paper web and shortly before the forming of the flat web into the tube of the cover strips is injected into the punched-out hole in a liquid-tight manner with an integrally molded pull tab, the edge regions of the cover strip fusing with the plastic coating on both surfaces of the paper web.
  • an opening device with the necessary and favorable conditions of tightness, easy and logical opening ability and inexpensive production of an opening device has been created for the first time by the invention.
  • a hole can be punched using known techniques with high register accuracy with regard to the printing and / or the pattern of the fold lines.
  • This is a paper web coated on both sides with plastic which has a hole, but this is exactly where you want it, so that it fits well for advertising, opening instructions and for the general picture of the package.
  • Such a pretreated paper web provided with a hole is now fed to the packaging machine, which is preceded by a spraying system upstream of the tube forming devices.
  • Imprints, edges, fold lines or even the punched hole can adjust the position of the web relative to the spraying machine so precisely that a plastic film can be injected as a cover strip at precisely the right place in the area of the punched hole.
  • the spraying device can be designed in a very simple manner in the manner mentioned above, in particular if the pull tab is designed to protrude vertically from the cover strip.
  • the punched-out hole is closed completely liquid-tight, and the web can then be converted into a tubular shape in the usual way, so that further processing with filling, cross-sealing, separating and shaping the finished package can take place as in conventional machines .
  • the injected cover strip does not interfere with this manufacturing process.
  • a commercially available milk or fruit juice packaging in cuboid form is shown and described here as a plasticiser.
  • the material of this cuboid pack consists of paper thinly coated on both sides with plastic, which forms both the side walls 2 and 3 and the bottom and lid 1, as shown in FIG.
  • the side walls result from the formation of a tube which is closed along the longitudinal sealing seam 4. In the present case, no transverse sealing seam is shown on the lid side. This is located in other wall parts of the pack, which are not shown in the figures.
  • Lid 1 and bottom are designed with folded-over triangular fields 5 which are formed in one piece with the side walls 2, 3 and which are connected to the inside of the packaging.
  • a pouring flap 8 is also shown in FIG. 1, which is intended to facilitate the tearing off of the pouring jet of the liquid filling material.
  • the opening device 7 is created by punching out the hole 6, which is closed by means of the cover strip 10 made of plastic.
  • a pull tab 11 in the form of a flat field protrudes vertically from the cover strip 10, the front attachment edge of which is denoted by l 2 in FIG. 2 being arranged off-center.
  • the pull tab ll on the opening device 7 is located off-center to the hole 6.
  • the edge l2 can, however, also be displaced towards the opposite side, in order in any case to ensure that a larger hole is torn open when the liquid pack is opened.
  • FIG. 2 shows the edge areas l3 of the cover strip l0, which, like double flanges, cover the edges l4 of the hole 6 both on the outside and on the inside.
  • FIG. 2 shows the ring-shaped web l5 of the cover strip l0 connecting the two flange-like edge regions l3 of the cover strip l0, which covers the front edge of the punched hole, which is open to the outside without any plastic coating, in such a way that no liquid, neither from inside from the outside, into which paper can penetrate.
  • FIG. 2 also allows a good idea of an injection mold, not shown, in which the inner or lower mold part is to be thought of as being arranged below the cover 1, while the upper part is to be thought of in one piece above the limit of the material web forming the cover 1.
  • the narrowly created area representing the cover strip 10 would then represent the hollow shape into which the plastic is injected.
  • the shape of the packaging that can be provided with such a new opening device can of course differ from the cuboid shape shown here in the figures.
  • Tubular or box-shaped packs are known, in which a paper web is also first punched and sprayed with the cover strip shortly before the pack is set up or a tube is formed.
  • FIG. 2 also shows two tear lines 16, which in a preferred embodiment can also merge into one another as a circle or oval as an endless single line.
  • the left weakening or tear line 16 is arranged directly next to the tab 11, so that the opening takes place when the pull tab 11 is pulled up.
  • the circular or oval-shaped part of the cover strip l0 has a reclosing edge within the tear lines l6, which is denoted by l7 in FIG. In this way, the part of the opening device 7 which has been torn out can be pushed back into the opening until it rests on the reclosing edge 17 and locked there.
  • An inner cover strip l8 seals the package in a liquid-tight manner despite the pouring edge 8.
