Claims (10)

  1. Mobile firing unit with mortar comprising a carrier vehicle (1) with suspension, a set of tracks (10) or of wheels, and a mortar (2) mounted on the carrier vehicle through the intermediary of a base plate (6, 18) serving as mechanical support thereof characterised in that it comprises a chassis (7) connected on the one hand to the set of tracks or of wheels through the intermediary of a retractable suspension serving to lower the entire vehicle rapidly so as to place the lower assembly of the carrier vehicle directly or indirectly in contact with the ground in a low position and to transmit thereto the major part of the energy of the firing, chassis connected on the other hand to the base plate (6, 18) through the intermediary of a resilient connection (8).
  2. Unit according to Claim 1 characterised in that the suspension is of oleopneumatic type.
  3. Unit according to Claim 2 characterised in that the suspension comprises on each roller (9) a jack (11) acting through the intermediary of a lever (12) on the adjacent suspension arm (13).
  4. Unit according to the preceding claims characterised in that the base plate (6) is in contact with the ground in firing position.
  5. Unit according to Claim 4 characterised in that the base plate (6) has on its under-surface a relief for immobilisation.
  6. Unit according to Claims 4 and 5 characterised in that the relief for immobilisation is constituted by several spade-shaped ribs (14) connecting stud-type shapes (15).
  7. Unit according to Claim 1 characterised in that the plate is a seating plate (18) mounted floating above the bottom (23) of the chassis (7) on a double projecting structure (21, 22) through the intermediary of a suspension (8) of resilient connection type formed of two transverse coils (16) and (17).
  8. Unit according to Claims 1 and 7 characterised in that the resilient connection between the base plate (6, 18) and the chassis (7) is formed by two transverse coils (16) and (17) of a metal cable the turns of which are interconnected by high (19) and low (20) longitudinal support members securely attached on the one hand to the bottom of the chassis (7) and on the other hand to the base plate (6, 18).
  9. Unit according to Claim 8 characterised in that the high (19) and low (20) support members are connected respectively to the chassis (7) and to the base plate (6, 18).
  10. Unit according to Claim 8 characterised in that the high (19) and low (20) support members are connected respectively to the base plate (18) of the mortar and to the chassis (7).
