Definitions

  • the invention relates to a toilet brush with a device for dispensing a cleaning and / or disinfecting liquid, with a container connected to the handle of the brush made of an elastic material, the mouth region of which faces the bristled end of the handle.
  • a coupling is switched on between the container and the brush handle, and the flow path from the container to the brush can be opened or closed by relative rotation of the coupling and handle.
  • it is ensured with the aid of a relatively complex sealing construction that no leakage can occur between the brush handle and the coupling, even in the open position.
  • detergent located in the circumference of the connecting line can gradually flow out of the outlet openings of the brush body, as conversely air enters the connecting line through the line mouth, so that the residual liquid drips here as well.
  • the handling of this brush is cumbersome because the user needs both hands to open and close by relatively rotating the coupling and handle.
  • the invention has for its object to further develop the toilet brush of the type mentioned in such a way that the dispensing of a cleaning and / or disinfecting liquid is considerably simplified and nevertheless it is ensured that no more liquid is dispensed after the cleaning process.
  • this object is achieved in that a U-shaped tube is arranged in the container, one leg of which extends through the mouth region of the container in a liquid-tight manner and ends in the region of the bristles, and the other leg of which ends shortly before the mouth region of the container, wherein the connecting bow of the two legs is arranged at a short distance from the wall of the container which is remote from the bristled end of the stem, and that a small hole is arranged in the pipe wall at the apex of the connecting bow.
  • the container After arranging the bristled end of the brush handle in the toilet bowl to be cleaned, the container is pressed together with one hand, whereby the air bubble located in its upper region is compressed.
  • the pressure acting on the surface of the liquid in the container has the result that the liquid is pressed into the leg of the U-shaped tube which ends near the downward-pointing mouth of the container and is pressed through the other leg of the same and ejected near the bristles .
  • part of the liquid still in the longer leg rises back into the container and another part emerges and moistens the bristles, as some air from the air bubble enters the longer leg and the otherwise existing suction effect of the longer liquid column can prevent according to the principle of communicating tubes.
  • the hole has a diameter of approximately 0.4 mm. This diameter has proven to be useful for aqueous liquids; an opening of smaller diameter is expedient for dispensing liquids of higher viscosity.
  • the end of the handle provided with the bristles is angled backwards and that the associated end of the tube is also angled and turned towards the bristles.
  • the container is detachably connected to the brush handle and that the tube is divided into an area connected to the container and an area connected to the handle.
  • the empty container can be separated from the actual brush and replaced with a new full container.
  • the container is bottle-shaped and is provided with an external thread in the mouth area so that the area of the tube connected to the container in the mouth area of the Container is arranged concentrically to the external thread and closed with a membrane, and that the region of the tube connected to the brush handle is provided at its end remote from the bristles with an internal thread which can be screwed to the external thread of the mouth region.
  • the area of the tube connected to the brush handle can be a separate component, but it is also possible to provide the brush handle with a longitudinal bore so that it forms the tube itself.
  • the region of the tube connected to the container can be inserted into the mouth region of the container, whereby it can be fixed in the mouth region of the container with a stopper arranged at the end of its longer leg.
  • the brush handle is provided with a tube socket arranged concentrically to the internal thread, the outside diameter of which is smaller than the inside diameter of the tube area arranged in the mouth region of the container.
  • the pipe socket is preferably cut obliquely at its free end to form a cutting edge.
  • the toilet brush shown in the drawing consists of a brush handle 10 and a container 12 releasably connected thereto.
  • the bottle-like container 12 is made of an elastic plastic so that it resumes its original shape after being deformed.
  • the end of the brush handle 10 which is remote from the container 12 and points downward in the use position of the toilet brush is provided with an angled extension 14 which, like the end of the brush handle, is provided with bristles 16.
  • a longitudinal bore 18 extends through the brush handle 10 and opens at its free end into an oblique bore 20 which is directed at an acute angle against the angled extension 14 of the brush handle 10.
  • the end of the brush handle 10 opposite the angled extension 14 is provided with a bell-like extension 22 which has an internal thread 24.
  • a pipe socket 26 connected to the longitudinal bore 18 extends concentrically to the internal thread 24 and ends at a distance from the free end of the extension 22 of the brush handle 10.
  • the pipe socket 26 is cut off obliquely at its free end in order to have a cutting edge for a reason explained in more detail below 28 form.
  • a U-shaped tube 30 is arranged in the container 12 and has a long leg 32 and a short leg 34.
  • the free end of the long leg 32 is connected to a stopper 36 which is inserted into a recess 40 arranged in the mouth region 38 of the bottle-shaped container 12 or - as illustrated in the drawing - forms a structural unit with the latter.
  • the opening of the container 12 adjoining the recess 40 is large enough so that the U-shaped tube 30 already provided with the plug 36 can be inserted into the container 12.
  • the mouth region 38 of the container 12 is provided with an external thread 39.
  • the short leg 34 of the tube 30 ends at a short distance from the stopper 36.
  • the end region of the long leg 32 of the tube 30 fixed in the stopper 36 is closed with a membrane 42.
  • the connecting bend 44 of the two legs 32 and 34 of the U-shaped tube 30 arranged near the bottom of the bottle-like container 12 is provided with a small hole 46 at its apex.
  • the container 12 is filled with a cleaning and / or disinfecting liquid in the manufacturing plant, whereupon the U-shaped tube is inserted into the container 12 and the plug 36 pushed onto it is inserted into the recess 40 of the container is pressed. Since the long leg 32 of the tube 30 is closed by the membrane 42, no liquid can escape from the container 12.
  • the container 12 is sold and sold as a refill regardless of the brush handle 10.
  • the end user only has to connect the brush handle 10 to the container 12 by screwing the bell-shaped extension 22 of the brush handle 10 onto the mouth area 38 of the container 12.
  • the pipe socket 26 arranged on the brush handle 10 increasingly penetrates into the end region of the long pipe leg 32 fixed in the container 12 until it cuts through the membrane 42 with its cutting edge 28.
  • the flow channel of the U-shaped tube arranged in the container 13 has a diameter of 3.4 mm
  • the small hole 46 arranged in the connecting bend 44 of the tube 30 has a diameter of 0.4 mm.
  • the brush handle is provided with a sleeve-shaped locking slide 48 which, when not in use, can be moved downwards from the illustrated upper position into a lower locking position, in which it closes the mouth of the bore 20.
  • This slide valve 48 forms a child safety device, which ensures that no liquid can escape when the toilet brush container unit is handled in a playful manner even when pressure is exerted on the container.
  • the bottle is also provided with a known twist lock which serves as a child lock.
  • a side bottle holder can also be provided on a brush handle of a conventional design in a modified embodiment. It is essential, however, that the bottle attached to the side also contains the U-shaped tube with the small hole 46, by means of which valve-less liquid metering is possible when an external pressure pulse acts on the liquid level.
