Definitions
- the invention relates to a method and a device for burning liquid and / or solid fuels according to the preamble of claim 1 and claim 7.
- the present invention is based on the object of creating a method and a device for burning liquid and / or solid fuels in pulverized form, in which or with which a practically complete combustion is possible with simple structural means, combustion can be maintained with high efficiency even when solid fuels are supplied in dry form.
- the fuels are introduced into the combustion chamber with spontaneous fanning out and very fine distribution.
- the compressed air admixture is preferably carried out immediately before the fuel is introduced into the combustion chamber, approximately radially against the fuel, but preferably directed slightly obliquely towards the fuel inlet opening.
- the fuel is therefore broken up before it enters the combustion chamber and enriched with combustion-supporting air.
- the fuel spray cone formed in this way which is essentially hollow, is then limited immediately after entering the combustion chamber by an external, approximately rectified primary air flow.
- the spray cone thus "encased” is finally acted upon by a secondary air flow which is located radially further outward, breaking open the flow jacket or spray cone.
- the secondary air flow is therefore directed against the spray cone.
- the fuels introduced into the combustion chamber are therefore broken up spontaneously immediately behind the fuel inlet to form the smallest fuel particles or droplets.
- a maximum effective fuel surface is obtained directly behind the fuel inlet, as a result of which virtually complete combustion is achieved at an extremely short distance.
- the combustion chamber can be made correspondingly short and small, even when burning solid fuels in powdered form.
- the method according to the invention is suitable both for the combustion of oil and for the combustion of solid fuels in dry form and for the combustion of a mixture of these fuels.
- oil When burning solid fuel, it is advisable and usually also necessary to add flammable oil to start the combustion in order to start the combustion.
- the oil supply can then be interrupted after the start of the combustion, possibly replaced by water, in order to be able to supply the solid fuel particles better and to be able to discharge them into the combustion chamber.
- solid fuels are mainly coal, for.
- hard coal coal containing betumen, gas-rich coal or a mixture thereof.
- the device according to the invention is also suitable for burning heavy oils. The device is therefore suitable for the combustion of substances which are usually difficult to burn.
- the oil and / or coal burner shown in the drawing in schematic longitudinal section has a nozzle body 36 with a central fuel inlet opening into the combustion chamber 16 in the form of a fuel inlet opening 10, which is arranged sunk in the end wall 12 of the combustion chamber 16 and which is surrounded by two gas channels 14, 18 concentrically.
- the gas channel 14 immediately surrounding the nozzle body 36 opens into the combustion chamber 16 through a gas or.
- Air inlet opening 24 which is closest to the fuel inlet opening 10.
- a so-called "primary air” flows through the channel 14, which can be enriched with combustion gases of higher temperature, the gas emerging from the opening 24 having a flow rate of 100 to 200 m / s, preferably approximately 130 m / s.
- the side walls 20 and 22 delimiting the opening 24 are each conical in shape with the formation of an annular nozzle.
- the "primary gas” Immediately before the "primary gas” emerges, it can be deflected by about 70 ° by swirl elements (not shown) in the form of guide vanes and thus set in rotation about the longitudinal axis 26 of the nozzle body 36 or combustion chamber 16.
- the "primary gas” is blown into the gas channel 14 at a pressure of about 1000 to 1200 mm water column.
- the gas channel 14 is surrounded concentrically by a further gas channel 18, the annular inlet opening 28 opening into the combustion chamber 16 is likewise delimited by conical side walls 30 and 32.
- the side walls 30, 32 are directed such that they impart a conical flow profile to the gas flow emerging from the ring opening 28, which constricts the opposite flow profile of the fuels and of the "primary gas” emerging from the ring opening 24.
- the fuel inlet opening 10 and the ring opening 24 for the "primary gas” are set back relative to the ring opening 28 for the so-called "secondary gas", the gas or.
- the "secondary gas” flowing through the channel 18 can also be deflected by swirl elements arranged in the area of the ring opening 28 in the form of guide vanes or the like, namely by about 40 to 45 ° to the longitudinal axis 26, that is, in rotation about the longitudinal axis 26 be transferred.
- the exit velocity of the "secondary gas” is approximately 120 to 180 m / s, preferably 140 m / s.
- the annular gap width of the opening 28, like the annular gap width of the opening 24, can be changed by changing the relative position of the side walls 30, 32 delimiting it.
- the exit velocity of the "secondary gas” is of course variable in a corresponding manner.
- the "secondary gas” is also blown into the annular channel 18 at a pressure of approximately 1000 to 1200 mm of water.
- the "secondary gas” is preferably deflected in the same direction as the "primary gas", if one is provided.
- the "secondary gas” is preferably not enriched with hot combustion gases, since it serves less as a carrier medium for the fuel introduced into the combustion chamber 16 and rather to increase the free or effective one men surface and the enrichment or supply of the fuel particles with oxygen.
- the “secondary gas” is therefore preferably pure "secondary air”.
- the component comprising the nozzle body 36, the ring channel 14 directly surrounding it and the ring channel 18 through which "secondary air" flows can be inserted as a whole into the end wall 12 of the combustion chamber 16 and can therefore also be easily replaced by a corresponding, somewhat modified component.
- an annular mouthpiece 34 arranged between the two ring openings or gaps 24 and 28 and comprising the two adjacent or facing side walls 22 and 30 of the two ring openings 24 - and 28 is in the axial direction or in the direction of the longitudinal axis 26 mounted to slide back and forth.
- the ring mouthpiece 34 is connected to a tube jacket 38 which separates the two gas channels 14, 18, so that the axial displacement of the ring mouthpiece 34 takes place by corresponding action on the tube jacket 38.
- the ring mouthpiece 34 is shifted to the right in the attached drawing, so that the gap widths of the ring openings 24 and 28 and thus the amount of gases or air escaping are a minimum.
- the conditions are reversed, i.e. H. the ring mouthpiece 34 is shifted to the left so that the ring openings 24 and 28 are opened to the maximum.
- the outlet quantity of the "primary gas" and the "secondary stage" is correspondingly maximum.
- the core of the device according to the invention is the configuration of the nozzle body 36, in particular the fuel inlet opening 10.
- the fuel inlet is formed by a central opening 10 delimited by a peripheral cutting edge 40.
- This opening 10 or cutting edge 40 is assigned a plurality of approximately radially directed air inlet openings 42 which are distributed uniformly over the circumference.
- the air inlet openings 42 are fluidly connected to one another via an annular duct 44 and a common compressed air duct 46 to a preferably variable, not shown compressed air source.
- the cutting edge 40 delimiting the fuel inlet opening 10 has an approximately triangular cross section.
- the fuel inlet openings 42 extend approximately as an extension of the inner boundary surface 48 of the triangular cutting edge 40.
- the air inlet openings 42 are each directed at an angle of 70 ° to the longitudinal axis 26 of the nozzle body 36 or the combustion chamber 16.
- the cutting edge 40 is part of a mouthpiece 50 which is inserted into the nozzle body 36 and which also includes the air inlet openings 42.
- the mouthpiece 50 is screwed into the nozzle body - (threaded connection 52).
- the cutting edge 40 or its inwardly tapering edge delimits a circular opening 10.
- the cutting edge 40 spontaneously fuses the fuel emerging into the combustion chamber 16 and forms an essentially hollow spray cone.
- the fanned-out spray cone is, as it were, sheathed by the “primary gas” emerging from the ring opening 24 directly surrounding the fuel inlet opening 10.
- the spray cone bounded by the “primary gas” is then broken up in the region of the end wall 12, with the result that the finest fuel particles form near the end wall 12, so that an almost complete combustion within the Combustion chamber 16 can take place.
- the formation of the “spray cone” can be varied or adjusted well to the respectively desired conditions or to the type and quality of the fuel which is to be burned.
- the air inlet openings 42 can also each be directed obliquely to the radial in order to impart a rotational movement about the longitudinal axis 26 to the exiting fuel / air mixture, which is then preferably directed in the same direction as the rotational movement of the outer gas or. Air flow.

Description
Patentanspruches 7.The invention relates to a method and a device for burning liquid and / or solid fuels according to the preamble of claim 1 and claim 7.
Over the years, various variants for the combustion of both liquid fuels, such as oil or the like, and solid fuels, in particular coal, peat or the like, have been proposed in powdered form, the latter mostly with a carrier liquid, such as water and / or Oil mixed as an emulsion can be introduced into a combustion chamber. The fuels are generally introduced into the combustion chamber with the formation of a recirculating flow profile, this being limited by a rotating external air flow. The combustion of a suspension of powdered coal in liquid has proven to be relatively difficult in practice; Above all, the aim was to prevent the fuel inlet openings or burner nozzles opening into the combustion chamber from becoming blocked. The combustion efficiency was also limited. To overcome these problems, a burner is proposed in DD-PS 145 316, which is a combination of a so-called. Rotary burner with a toroidal burner. However, tests have shown that even this Brnener can only achieve relatively low efficiencies, especially in the critical starting phase. The reason is probably that the atomization of the fuels is inadequate, so that inflammation problems occur especially in the start-up phase. The enrichment or mixing of the release agents with air is also deficient, which also affects the efficiency.
On the basis of this prior art, the present invention is based on the object of creating a method and a device for burning liquid and / or solid fuels in pulverized form, in which or with which a practically complete combustion is possible with simple structural means, combustion can be maintained with high efficiency even when solid fuels are supplied in dry form.
This object is achieved with regard to the method by the characterizing measures of claim 1, and with respect to the device by the characterizing features of claim 7.
By means of the invention, the fuels are introduced into the combustion chamber with spontaneous fanning out and very fine distribution. Of particular importance here is not only the introduction of the fuels into the combustion chamber via a cutting edge, but also the additional admixture of compressed air before introduction into the combustion chamber, so that fuel which is highly enriched in air gets into it. The compressed air admixture is preferably carried out immediately before the fuel is introduced into the combustion chamber, approximately radially against the fuel, but preferably directed slightly obliquely towards the fuel inlet opening. The fuel is therefore broken up before it enters the combustion chamber and enriched with combustion-supporting air. In addition, the fuel spray cone formed in this way, which is essentially hollow, is then limited immediately after entering the combustion chamber by an external, approximately rectified primary air flow. The spray cone thus "encased" is finally acted upon by a secondary air flow which is located radially further outward, breaking open the flow jacket or spray cone. The secondary air flow is therefore directed against the spray cone.
The fuels introduced into the combustion chamber are therefore broken up spontaneously immediately behind the fuel inlet to form the smallest fuel particles or droplets. In this way, a maximum effective fuel surface is obtained directly behind the fuel inlet, as a result of which virtually complete combustion is achieved at an extremely short distance. The combustion chamber can be made correspondingly short and small, even when burning solid fuels in powdered form.
Surprisingly, the method according to the invention is suitable both for the combustion of oil and for the combustion of solid fuels in dry form and for the combustion of a mixture of these fuels. When burning solid fuel, it is advisable and usually also necessary to add flammable oil to start the combustion in order to start the combustion. The oil supply can then be interrupted after the start of the combustion, possibly replaced by water, in order to be able to supply the solid fuel particles better and to be able to discharge them into the combustion chamber.
Advantageous procedural and device-related measures are described in claims 4 to 6 and 8 to 13 insofar as they have not yet been described in more detail above, the latter claims primarily relating to design details that relate entirely to the handling and control of the device (burner) according to the invention make it much easier. In terms of device technology, it is in any case of particular importance the circumferential cutting edge delimiting the fuel inlet opening and the air inlet openings associated with this cutting edge, which are preferably arranged approximately radially on the side of the cutting edge facing away from the combustion chamber.
As solid fuels are mainly coal, for. As hard coal, coal containing betumen, gas-rich coal or a mixture thereof. The device according to the invention is also suitable for burning heavy oils. The device is therefore suitable for the combustion of substances which are usually difficult to burn.
The invention is described in more detail below on the basis of an exemplary embodiment of a device for carrying out the method according to the invention. This is shown in the accompanying drawing in a schematic cross section. The drawing shows only part of the device according to the invention, namely the burner part with fuel and air inlet. The peripheral parts associated with these inlets and the combustion chamber are omitted from the drawing for a better understanding of the essence of the invention.
The oil and / or coal burner shown in the drawing in schematic longitudinal section has a
The
Before the "secondary gas" flowing through the
Das "Sekundärgas" ist also vorzugsweise reine "Sekundärluft".The "secondary gas" is preferably not enriched with hot combustion gases, since it serves less as a carrier medium for the fuel introduced into the
The component comprising the
The exit speeds of the "primary gas" and the "secondary air" remain approximately the same in all operating states between start and full load. Only the amount of discharge or the throughput are changed by correspondingly increasing or reducing the gap widths of the ring openings or
The core of the device according to the invention is the configuration of the
By means of the compressed air blown in through the
The above-mentioned admixture of combustion gases to the "primary gas" has two advantages. On the one hand, both the liquid and the solid fuel can be preheated along the way through the
