Description

SKI MAINTENANCE EQUIPMENT WITH ONE HANDLE

The invention relates to a ski care device with a handle for quickly preparing skis.

Regular maintenance of the tread is necessary to maintain the sliding properties of skis. The tread is treated in such a way that molten wax is dripped onto the surface in order to then be ironed on evenly. Since the wax is not applied evenly, i.e. unevenness occurs, these must be removed. When the wax is applied, the center groove is closed by wax flowing into it. So that the center groove can fulfill its function as a track groove, it must be freed of the wax that has flowed in, which is usually done with a pointed object, e.g. B. happens a screwdriver.

Several devices are used for these four steps, drip on, smooth and iron in, remove the wax and clean the track groove. This is how the wax is melted with a blowtorch or an iron. Since the wax cools down quickly after it has been dripped on, smoothing must be done with a warm object that liquefies the wax again. This is usually done using an iron. The distributed wax, which still has unevenness, is pulled off with a scraper. The wax is then removed from the track groove.

However, it is necessary to use a variety of different tools. In addition, when dripping on the wax, both hands are required to hold the wax with one hand and to bring the heated object to the wax with the other. So is no hand free that can move the ski in a targeted manner so that the dripping wax can run into larger notches or unevenness of the base. The use of the various devices to prepare the ski is particularly disadvantageous when the ski is to be waxed on site. So at least three devices must always be taken.

The invention has for its object to provide a ski care device which can be used on site and with which the various individual steps of waxing can be carried out on one of the two skis with one hand, the ski being able to be held by hand.

The good running properties of skis with modern ski bases can only be optimally used by hot waxing. Knowledge of the snow conditions on site is a prerequisite for the correct wax mixture.

For the ski care equipment according to the invention, the wax mixture is now composed of commercially available hard waxes and the tank is filled in accordance with the determined snow conditions. The heater of the ski care device is switched on and the correct operating temperature is waited for. When this is reached, a ski is gripped with one hand so that the tread is facing up. The ski maintenance equipment is held in the other hand. First, the wax is applied to the tread, for this the ski care device is placed on the start of the tread and with the hand that holds the handle, tipped forward until the actuators release the outlet openings and wax emerges. The ski care equipment will now, depending on the amount of wax desired, slow or Faster to the end of the ski, so that wax is applied linearly over the entire length of the tread. When the end of the ski is reached, the ski care equipment is tipped back onto the ironing surface. It goes without saying that the hand that holds the ski always grips accordingly and follows or is ahead of the ski care device. With the ironing surface heated by the radiator, the wax is evenly distributed on the running surface before it cools, penetrating into the pores of the covering. When the tip of the ski is reached, the ski care equipment is turned over and tipped back until the track groove cleaning nose engages in the track groove and then moves swiftly towards the end of the ski. Wax that has flowed into the track groove is lifted off like a plane. At the end of the ski, the ski care equipment is tipped back onto the edge of the pull-off plate and the excess wax applied is pulled off towards the tip of the ski. If the wax layer is still too strongly structured, it can be melted again immediately with the ironing surface and smoothed with the peel plate.

The advantages that can be achieved with the invention are, in particular, that all operations on a ski can be carried out in succession. Up to now, it was common to prepare the skis alternately, which means that both skis were worked on in parallel. Since there is no change of the processing device or of the ski during processing in the ski maintenance device according to the invention, there is no time delay between the individual work steps. Thus, the risk that z. B. between the ironing and stripping operations, the ski wax completely solidifies and is torn from the pores when stripping. With the ski care equipment according to the invention it is therefore possible to carry out the processing operations with wax still plastic perform.

FIG. 1 shows the implement 10, on the lower area of which a base body 11 is attached. Above the base body 11 there is a handle 12 which ends freely at the rear and is attached to the base body in the front region. This enables the hand to be easily gripped in the handle 12 and additionally ensures that the ski care device 10 is securely held in the hand in the working direction running parallel to the extension of the handle 12. The handle 12 is arranged on the base body such that an air gap 26 remains between its front end in the working direction and the tank 13. The area of the handle 12 encompassed by the hand extends essentially lie parallel to the base body 11 to the rear. The handle 12 has handle side surfaces 35, 36 which are symmetrical with respect to the longitudinal axis. A socket 37 is placed in the front area of the handle side surface 35. A switch 38 is arranged opposite the socket 37 in the front upper region of the handle side surface 36.

In the working direction at the front there is a tank 13 on the top of the base body 11. The tank 13 is filled with wax and closed with a closure 14. Furthermore, the tank 13 has two outlet openings 15 at the front in the working direction, so that the wax can be applied evenly to the right and left of the track groove. In the outlet openings 15 of the tank 13 actuators 32, z. B. spring valves are used. For the wax application, the ski care device 10 has to be tilted forward in the working direction, the actuating members 32 are pressed inward and wax flows through the outlet openings 15 onto the covering.

The base body 11 has a flat bracket surface 18 on its underside. This ironing surface 18 can be heated. The bow surface 18 merges at its front end in the working direction in a kink line 19 (FIG. 4) perpendicular to the working direction into a tipping surface 20 which runs obliquely to the bearing surface 1 obliquely to the upper side of the base body. The tipping surface 20 is flush with the front of the tank 13 at the front. The base body 11 has on its side opposite the bottom surface 18 a depression 30 with a substantially rectangular shape. Outline on. The bottom surface of the depression 30 extends essentially parallel to the ironing surface 18. A heating element 29 is inserted into the depression 30, which is flat and is connected to the bottom surface 31 with good thermal conductivity. The bearing surface 18 goes in one to the working direction at right angles and parallel to the first folding line 19, the second folding line 21 into a second tilting surface 22, which runs obliquely upwards at an obtuse angle to the support surface 18. Both tipping surfaces are flat. The side surfaces 23, 24 adjoining the underside of the base body upward run conically inward in their front regions in the working direction.

From the side surfaces 23, 24, arranged above the crease line 19, extend to the sides and over the base body 11 in the working direction to the front stops 25. The front ends of these stops 25 are so far apart that when wax is applied between the Side surfaces of the ski and the stops 25 a game remains, which corresponds essentially to the width of the track groove. By these stops 25 it is achieved that no wax wax is lost on the side surfaces or runs into the track groove during waxing. The ski care device 10 preferably has the track groove cleaning nose 16 on its underside, arranged centrally and parallel to the working direction, in the tilting surface 20. The track groove cleaning nose 16 is substantially wedge-shaped. Its base surface 40 merges into the ironing surface 18 at the rear end in the crease line. The base surface 40 extends upward and forms a larger obtuse angle with the bracket surface 18 than the tilting surface 20 (FIG. 2). The end face 39 jumps back at an acute angle, thus forming a wedge with the base area 40.

At the rear end of the ski care device 10, a pull-off plate 17 is arranged above the support surface 18, preferably plane-parallel to it, which extends beyond the rear end of the ski care device 10 in the working direction. It is inserted between the base body 11 and the handle 12. Your top is covered by handle 12 further back, as its underside through the base body 11 to the rear. The rear upper edge 27 of the pull-off plate 17 is round, the lower edge 28 underneath, on the other hand, is sharp-edged (FIG. 5). The sharp-edged lower edge 28 is therefore suitable for removing large unevenness in the wax layer, while the round upper edge 27 is suitable for smoothing the wax layer.

An edge with a rectangular cross section is milled into the side surface 24 from below, one surface 42 of which is parallel to the ironing surface 18 and the other surface 43 of which extends in the direction of the longitudinal axis. An edge file 44 is inserted into the surface 42. Burrs that form on the steel edge during skiing can be removed with the edge file 44.
