Abstract

Codeur MICR (14) (reconaissance magnétique des caractères) commandé pour imprimer automatiquement en code MICR le montant total en dollars d'un achat calculé par une caisse enregistreuse électronique (6) ou un autre ensemble de circuits associés et indiqué par les signaux électriques provenant de ceux-ci afin d'éliminer la nécessité d'une entrée supplémentaire du clavier. Les signaux électriques sont obtenus par des connecteurs libérables à la jonction d'un circuit de terminal maître (28) avec divers dispositifs de sortie (34, 36), dispositifs d'entrée ou un système d'ordinateur hôte (38). Outre le codage MICR, une autre imprimante régulière (16) est commandée afin d'imprimer le nom du bénéficiaire, la date et le montant au verso du chèque et d'autres informations d'identification de clients, de vérification ou d'endossement au verso du chèque. Une imprimante de reçu (34) est également commandée de manière à imprimer le nombre total de chèques codés, le montant en dollars de chaque chèque et le montant total en dollars. Des ports d'entrée/de sortie permettent la communication avec des systèmes de vérification, d'autres ordinateurs ou dispositifs.
