Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a method for operating a single or multi-color printing device and a device for performing this method.
The operation of conventional printing machines, regardless of whether single or multi-color machines, requires the standstill of such machines when they are ready for printing, such as color changes, printing plate changes, cleaning, etc., because the machines form a self-contained unit. During these downtimes, these machines are therefore unproductive, i.e. they cause dead times. These processes can be particularly time-consuming if, for reasons of accessibility, e.g. to a plate cylinder, subassemblies, e.g. the inking unit or parts thereof must be moved or tilted within the machine. Naturally l time and personnel requirements are multiplied in multi-color presses.
With very small printing devices, e.g. Label lines, one has tried to solve this problem of "dead times" in that individual elements can be exchanged like a cassette. This is possible with the quality requirements placed on such machines, but again time-consuming because of the large number of such small elements.
In the publications mentioned below, printing machines are described with which attempts have been made to save makeready or dead times. So it is known from DE-GM.77 18 008 to shorten the time for the necessary cleaning or washing between each inking, cylinder of the printing units and for the necessary expansion of the inking device in that two side supports for two Distribution rollers and a distribution roller are connected to two side walls of a stationary lower part, which receives two licking rollers, two weighting rollers and an application roller and can be detachably connected to a sliding upper part, in which a blanket cylinder and a dampening unit are also provided. The lower parts to be cleaned and the displaceable upper part can be moved aside together by means of a transport device, so that the accessibility of these parts is improved. At least two of the assemblies containing the aforementioned units can alternately be connected to the stationary assembly.
From DE-OS 3 010 244 a quick-change printing device is known, which is to enable faster replacement of individual units with the aid of slides that can be moved on slide rods and the associated frames.
Also known from German patent application W 2261 XII / 15d is a rotary printing press with an inking unit arranged in the ' upper part, the rollers of which are mounted in a frame which can be pivoted out of its working position relative to the fixed machine frame, but remains connected to the fixed machine frame.
AS 1 169 959 describes a multi-color sheet-fed rotary printing press designed as a series machine, in which a printing unit unit is formed by two plate cylinders assigned to one another, approximately one above the other, and inking units assigned to them, the two inking units being arranged in a common frame on inclined paths of the plate cylinders can be moved away.
In the journal "The D ruck mirror" 5/1982 Page 438/439 fed rotary printing press described, cassettes contained in the replacement of the formats and drives the plate and blanket cylinders and are automatically extended from the machine on a rotating plate, the then the plate-blanket combination is put on in the new format and the machine is retracted.
Despite the developments in the state of the art mentioned above, it has so far not been possible to largely eliminate the set-up times from the production time when operating printing devices. This disadvantage has a particular effect on satellite machines, which are considerably more compact than the in-line machines, but are correspondingly more difficult to access. In addition, no possibility is provided for the printing devices mentioned to convert them to printing on a wide variety of printing materials, such as paper, cardboard and sheet metal, in the form of sheets, sheets, rolls or labels.
The invention is therefore based on the object of carrying out all the work that causes dead times, detached from a permanently operational stationary machine group and, at the same time, being able to enable the use for printing on virtually all types of substrates.
The invention solves this problem in that a first machine group of at least one machine unit is used essentially continuously for printing operation, along one for all colors common congruent parting line interacts with a second machine group of the machine unit causing dead times, which works for a new one. Edition is exchanged for another machine group causing dead times.
A particularly advantageous development of the invention is that the uniformly designed, dead time-causing, movable machine groups are used in cooperation with the at least one differently designed stationary machine group for the passage of divided or endless printing material.
It is hereby achieved that the time-consuming, labor-intensive work need only be carried out on the units contained in the movable machine group. As a result, these dead or set-up times can be carried out on the movable machine group if it has been removed from the stationary machine group and replaced with another movable, newly upgraded machine group. The congruent parting line thus enables a spatial and functional separation of the areas causing the dead times from the stationary areas, which are ready for production without the intervention of the personnel. In particular, the ink and water-carrying elements, such as plate cylinders, inking units, dampening units, etc., can be designed for single or multi-color arrangements as an organic unit, which can be designed as a movable exchange system, so that a movable machine group is detached from the stationary, producing one Machine group can be upgraded each time.
The method according to the invention can be used even more advantageously if a third is added to the movable exchange system consisting of two systems. Two stationary machine groups, each with a movable machine group, can then alternate, while the third movable machine group can be equipped for the next job.
The method according to the invention is extremely productive when printing from the roll, e.g. Reel on reel, reel on sheet or folder, because with this process extremely high printing capacities can be achieved, so that work processes causing dead times result in higher production losses and losses. Analogously, the area of label production can also be covered by the invention with appropriate dimensioning.
A device for carrying out the method according to the invention is characterized in that it consists of at least one machine unit which is subdivided into a stationary, permanently operational machine group and a movable machine group causing dead times by means of a congruent parting line which is common to all colors movable machine group is interchangeable with another movable machine group causing dead times.
The parting line can be provided between at least one plate cylinder of the movable machine group and an adjacent cylinder that comes into contact with the printing material. As a result, printing can be done by indirect high pressure and in Offset printing.
The invention has a particular advantage in connection with a device for offset printing of the satellite type, which is characterized according to the invention in that the stationary, permanently production-ready machine group with at least one blanket cylinder and a single impression cylinder together with system and delivery for the Printing material is provided and the movable machine group causing dead times has at least one plate cylinder with associated inking unit and dampening unit, the parting line between / the plate cylinder (s) in the movable machine group and the rubber blanket cylinder (s) in the stationary machine group The stationary machine group is optionally part of a rotary sheet-fed printing machine or rotary web printing machine and a number of stationary, continuously operational machine groups corresponding to the number n causes a number of moving dead times corresponding to the number n + 1 end machine groups is assigned. Such a rotary rotary offset printing machine of the satellite type enables the independent functionality of the stationary and the movable machine group as well as the direct accessibility of the plate cylinder with the associated inking and dampening units on the one hand and the rubber blanket cylinder and the impression cylinder on the other hand.
In the satellite machine, the parting line between the stationary machine group and the movable machine group advantageously runs essentially vertically. This will be an optimal one Separation and accessibility of the aggregates in the moving machine group, causing dead times, from the constantly production-ready units in the stationary machine group.
Fig. 1 shows an offset printing device, which as Sheet-fed rotary printing press of the satellite type is designed. The sheet-fed rotary printing press consists of a stationary, permanently operational machine group 1 and two identical,
The stationary machine group 1 consists of an
The stationary machine group 1 is also assigned a
In the machine frame 3a of the
For this purpose, the
As a result of the congruent parting line T, which runs essentially vertically between the
The separating joint T placed between the
The
Parallel to the
Instead of chain drives, other mechanical or hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical drives or combinations thereof can be used.
At the end of the
As can be seen, the
In Fig. 1, the device was based on only one stationary machine group 1 and two
Fig. 4 illustrates that the movable
The
It follows clearly from the above description that the invention enables an optimal, because practically continuous, utilization of the available machine capacities, regardless of whether it is sheet-fed or web-fed rotary printing presses, a particularly advantageous solution for machines of the satellite Design was found, the maintenance of which is impossible due to the compact arrangement of their individual units. Furthermore, finite and endless substrates can be printed on various materials, such as paper or sheet metal.
