The formation of the ink separating plate 11 in the area in which its front face 16 rests on the ink application roller 17, can be seen from Fig. 3.

Durch diese Farbrücklaufbohrung 30 und 31 läuft überschüssige Farbe in eine durch ein Blech 32 zweigeteilte Farbauffangwanne 33. Die einander abgewandten Stirnseiten der Farbkammerrakeln 26 und 27 sind, wie an sich bekannt, durch Spritzbleche geschlossen. Claims (6)

1. A rinsable inking unit for a rotary press, preferably for a flexographic printing press, comprising at least one doctor bar (26, 27), which is engageable with the inking roller (17), which unit is provided between two doctor blades (34, 35), which are adapted to bear on the inking roller (17), with an ink compartment (28, 29) for supplying and distributing ink and with means for supplying and removing (30) the ink, characterized in that at least two doctor bars (26, 27) are provided, a fountain separator plate (11), which protrudes at right angles from the inking roller (17) is pivoted between said doctor bars (26, 27) on a pin (10), which is parallel to the inking roller (17), the pin (10), which constitutes the pivot, is disposed between the vertical line which is drawn through the centre of gravity of the fountain separator plate (11) and the inking roller (17) and above that centre of gravity so that a concave end face (16) of the fountain separator plate (11), which concave end face is curved in accordance with the radius of the inking roller (17) and has a circumferential length covering the doctor blades (34, 35) is urged by gravity into sealing contact with the circumference of the inking roller (17), the doctor bars (26, 27) are provided with planar end faces, which are aligned with the side edges of the doctor blades (34, 35) and face the fountain separator plate (11), and the doctor bars (26, 27) are axially displaceably mounted and are adapted to be urged into sealing contact with the side faces of the fountain separator plate (11).

3. A rinsable inking unit according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the end face of the fountain separator plate (11) is provided with a groove and the legs which confine the groove are provided with end edges (16) which are similar to knife edges.

A rinsable inking unit according to any of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that a scraper bar (21) which is parallel to the inking roller (17) and has a length in excess of the thickness of the fountain separator plate (11) is disposed adjacent to the lower end edge of the fountain separator plate (11).
5. A rinsable inking unit according to any of claims 1 to 4, characterized in that the doctor bars (26, 27) are movably mounted by means of bushings (22, 23) on a pivot (3) and by compression springs (28', 29') which surround the pivot (3) are urged against the fountain separator plate (11), and the fountain separator plate (11) is held by the pivot (3) through the intermediary of clamping members (4, 5).
6. A rinsable inking unit according to any of claims 1 to 5, characterized in that those portions of the doctor bars (26, 27) which face the fountain separator plate (11) are provided with ink return bores (30), which open into the ink compartments (28, 29).
