The moisture-proof luminaire is generally designated 1 in FIGS. 1 to 3. It essentially consists of a housing 2 with a device rail 3 carrying various installation devices, as well as a reflector 4 and a transparent lamp tray 5 detachably attached to the housing 2.

The housing 2 is a one-piece, trough-shaped injection molded plastic body, which is provided on the housing base 6 with at least two outwardly projecting fastening eyes 7 for the lamp and, apart from a retracted oblique cable entry 8 on the inside, with two deep-drawn means 9 for fastening the device rail 3 is. In addition, the housing 2 has a circumferential standing edge 10 and a groove 11 lying deeper than this, which receives a seal 12 which is preferably formed from a round cord (FIGS. 3 and 4).

The device rail 3 consists of a sheet-metal stamped bent part which has a U-shaped cross section and looks essentially L-shaped in side view. As shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 in particular, its longer leg 13 is equipped with a ballast 14 and a connecting terminal 15 and its shorter leg 16 angled by 90 ° with a cable grommet 17 and a lamp holder 18. The parts are wired after they are preferably attached by being fastened, the ballast 14 being plugged into a corresponding configuration of the device rail 3 at only one fastening end, while the other fastening end is fixed by means of a self-tapping screw screwed into a passage of the device rail 3. The active part of the ballast 14 is shielded by the lateral folds of the longer leg 13 of the device rail 3. This means that the lateral folds correspond to the overall height of the ballast 14, as a result of which the latter assumes a position that is completely recessed in the U-profile of the device rail 3. The shorter device rail leg 16 has only relatively narrow, mechanical stiffening lateral folds, which are preferably arranged on the side of the device rail 3 having the longer leg 13. In the fastening area of the device rail 3, which projects beyond the standing edge 10 of the housing 2, the end portion of the shorter leg 16 contains a special recess for the snap fastening of the lamp holder 18, which, viewed from the longer leg 13, is arranged behind the shorter leg 16 in the covering area of the lamp trough 5 is. The lamp holder 18 is designed for G 23 lamps, which are U-shaped fluorescent lamps with a base on one side. As shown schematically in FIG. 1, a fluorescent lamp 19 inserted into the socket extends at a parallel distance from the longer leg 13 of the device rail 3, which is, however, dimensioned shorter than the length of the housing.

The completely pre-assembled device rail 3 outside the luminaire housing is placed for fastening with the longer leg 13 and at a distance from the housing base 6 on the deep-drawn parts 9 of the housing 2 such that their folds are directed towards the open housing side. At closing, a locking washer 20 is pressed onto a pin 21 protruding from each deep-drawing 9 with a simple tool, the internal toothing of the locking washer 20 being caulked on the pin 21. In this fastening position, the lamp socket 18 extends with the lamp trough 5 installed between the shorter leg 16 of the device rail 3 and the nearest trough end.

As FIG. 3 shows, the reflector 4, which is preferably stamped out of sheet metal, has in the installed position on its longitudinal sides each a bend 22 directed towards the housing 2, which has its lower edge the free ends of at least two support ribs 23. The support ribs 23 are formed at a distance from one another on the inner sides of the housing 2 in such a way that they extend transversely to its longitudinal axis and end approximately at the height of the standing edge 10. Also approximately at the level of the standing edge, two V-shaped slots 24 are provided next to one another in the shorter leg 16 of the device rail 3 at a distance. In the latter, the reflector 4 is inserted during assembly with two flat tabs 25 projecting at one end (FIG. 6), while the other end of the reflector is screwed to a column-shaped deep drawing of the housing 2 (not shown). Because the slots 24 in the device rail 3, the free end of the column-shaped passage in the housing 2 and the contact surfaces of its support ribs 23 are approximately in one plane, the reflector 4 is given a curvature extending around the longitudinal axis of the lamp, which, depending on the dimension of the longitudinal bends 22 and, depending on the desired light reflection, has a slight to strong curvature or is completely eliminated if there are no turns 22.

The fully assembled reflector 4 is arranged in the moisture-proof luminaire 1 between the ballast 14 and the fluorescent lamp 19, where it extends between the shorter leg 16 of the device rail 3 to just before the end of the lamp trough 5. The reflector 4 is also electrically connected to the device rail 3 via the sheet metal lugs 25 which are caulked in the V-shaped slots 24 and, in turn, is connected to the protective conductor via the connecting terminal 15 when the lamp is installed.

The latter consists of a transparent plastic body with an encircling standing edge 26 and an end strip 27 which also encircles at a parallel distance from it. This is rounded on the underside, visible in the installed position, out of the tub arch, while its top side forms a flat surface. On each long side, the end strip 27 has at least two recesses 28 reaching to the original wall thickness, above which a detent 29 is arranged at a distance and in the middle. The horizontally running underside of the latching lug 29 forms a latching shoulder and the latching lug upper side forms a run-up slope. By pressing the lamp trough 5 against the standing edge 10 of the housing 2, the locking lugs 29 snap into corresponding openings 30 in this standing edge 10. In this case, housing 2 and luminaire trough are fastened to one another and at the same time the free end of the standing edge 26 of the luminaire trough 5 is pressed into the seal 12 of the housing. In order to ensure easy latching, the lower edge of the housing upright edge 10 is chamfered on the inside in the areas below the openings 30, so that the upright edge 10 can be deflected elastically without great effort.

The flat top of the end strip 27 is wider than the standing edge 10 of the housing 2; therefore a slot-shaped opening 31 is formed between this and the standing edge 26 of the lamp trough 5 in the region of each recess 28 (FIG. 4), into which a simple tool 32, such as e.g. a screwdriver can be inserted. This allows the edge of the housing to be pressed outwards, as a result of which the latching is released and the lamp trough 5 can be removed from the housing 2.

In the wet room luminaire 1, the luminaire part with the lamp holder 18 which is not illuminated by the fluorescent lamp 19 is perceived as a dark room which is visible from the outside, in particular in the operating state. In order to avoid this impression, the otherwise continuously smooth lamp trough 5 in the exemplary embodiment shown in FIG. 1 is drawn in somewhat in the area of the lamp holder 18 and covered by a snap-on cap 33 made of opaque material.

The outer shape of the cap 33 corresponds to the other end of the tub and it has a cap edge 34 which is adapted to the cross section of the end strip 27 (FIG. 5). Below the edge 34 of the cap, a latch 35 is preferably arranged on each of the two opposing inner sides, which snap into place when the cap 33 is snapped onto the lamp trough 5 in correspondingly molded-in niches 36 of the lamp trough. In this fastening position, the outer surface of the cap 33 closes off smoothly with the still visible outer surface of the lamp trough 5. Between the covered outer surface of the lamp trough 5 and the inside of the cap, however, an air gap is formed by a plurality of ribs of low height formed on the inside of the cap 33 in the longitudinal direction of the lamp, so that any water that penetrates does not remain in the cap, but can run off.

In the exemplary embodiment described, the cap 33 is held on the lamp trough 5 by means of a releasable latching connection. The training required here on both parts can, however, be omitted if the cap 33 is attached to the lamp trough 5 by gluing or welding.
