Description

The invention relates to a device according to the preamble of claim 1.

Usually a trapezoid line for hooking a hook of a harness worn by the surfer is firmly connected to the boom at both ends. This means that if the sail pressure is too high, the surfer hanging on the boom with the trapezoid line is carried along with the folding rig if he does not succeed in unhooking the trapezoid line from the hook of the harness belt in good time.

In order to rule out these difficulties, so-called release hooks on the trapezoidal belt have already been proposed, which release when a predetermined tension is exceeded and thus break the connection between the trapezoidal belt and the trapezoidal line on the boom. However, these release hooks have not proven themselves in practice, since they always release on a given move and there is either the risk that the release occurs too early, although the surfer can still intercept the pressure, or that the release is too late takes place and the security function is completely lost. Since the release function is particularly important in the case of short, strong gusts and, depending on the physical condition of the surfer, such pressure surges can be intercepted at very different heights, such an automatic release of the connection between the harness belt and the harness line takes place via a harness with a certain release force. Trigger hook only to unsatisfactory results.

In addition, a further notching device, the so-called Charchulla belt, has also become known, in which a line connected to a hip belt of the surfer is hung with a knot in a recess of a sled that can be moved on the boom, while the surfer runs the one behind the sled holds the free end of the line between the sailing hand and boom. If the sail pressure is too high, the surfer should pull the end of the line up out of the sled and thus loosen the connection. This arrangement has again the disadvantage that, on the one hand, due to the high holding force of the line in the sled, pulling it out is very difficult and, on the other hand, the surfer cannot hold the end of the line in the sailing hand, since otherwise he would not hold onto the boom with it can. He must therefore first try to take the line by loosening the handle from the boom, but this can almost never take place in the extreme situations described, since then the dangerous spin fall to be avoided has already taken place.

The previously common solution of the trapeze line from the hook to pulling the body of the boom, causing the trapeze line to fall out of the hook, is only mastered by very few surfers in strong winds, since the pull of the sail and boom is always directed away from the body and thus in most cases such a release of the trapezoid line is impossible.

Furthermore, the detachment of the trapeze line from the hook is not desirable in many cases, namely if the rig only heels more, but the surfer can still hold it. In such a case, the rigid geometry between the hook attached to his harness and the boom will pull him into a position above the surfboard from which he will plunge into the sail after Lee.

The invention is therefore based on the object of creating a device of the generic type which enables an optimal position of the surfer relative to the boom and a safe solution of the surfer from the boom in extreme situations.

This object is achieved by the features in the characterizing part of claim 1. The configuration according to the invention ensures that when the sail hand is released from the boom and thus from the actuating handle of the clamping device, the connection between the trapezoid line and the boom is broken. So if the surfer is knocked out of the sails hand by a gust of wind, this does not result in the surfer falling to Lee. If the surfer can no longer hold the rig due to constantly increasing wind pressure, he can also release the clamping device by releasing the operating handle and thus increase the distance between the hook of his harness and the boom. So it is not dragged over the surfboard after Lee, but can continue to trim upwind. After such an extension of the trapezoid line by pulling a part of it out through the clamping device, the clamping device may then have to be closed again.

By the measures according to claim 2 it is achieved on the one hand that the trapezoidal line does not have to be threaded back into the clamping device after releasing the clamping by releasing the actuating handle, but is automatically retracted. On the other hand, this specifically affects the extendability of the trapeze line, i.e. supports the change in distance between the hook of the surfer's harness and the boom in a simple manner, since not only extensions but also shortenings are possible in a simple manner.

Claims 3 and 4 represent particularly advantageous configurations for the elastic extensibility and shortenability of the trapezoid line.

Further advantages, features and details of the invention result from the following description of an exemplary embodiment with reference to the drawing. It shows
  • 1 is a top view of a surfer with a horizontal section through a rig, a surfboard itself being only indicated schematically,
  • Fig. 2 is an enlarged side view of a clamping device on a boom, and
  • 3 shows a side view of a further embodiment of a clamping device in a partially broken-open representation.

Eine Trapezleine 8 und eine zugehörige Klemmvorrichtung 11 sind jeweils auf beiden Seiten des Gabelbaums 3 angeordnet, da der Surfer 5 je nach Segel- und Windrichtung wahlweise die Stellung auf dem Surfbrett 1 vertauschen muß.1 shows a surfboard 1, shown only schematically broken off, a gimbal pivotably attached mast 2 to surfboard 1 with its mast foot and a boom 3 attached to mast 2 with a sail 4. Surfer 5, indicated schematically in FIG. 1, wears one Trapezoidal belt 6 with a downwardly open hook 7 in which a trapezoid line 8 is suspended, which is firmly connected at one end 9 to the boom 3, while the other end 10 of the trapeze line 8 passes through a clamping device 11 fastened to the boom 3. A trapezoidal line 8 and an associated clamping device 11 are arranged on both sides of the boom 3, since the surfer 5 must swap the position on the surfboard 1 depending on the sailing and wind direction.

The clamping device 11 consists in the embodiment shown in Figs. 1 to 3 of a clamped on the boom 3 sleeve 12, on which a two-armed clamping lever 13 is pivotally mounted, the short arm of a jaw 14, which the trapezoidal line 8 against one of the Sleeve 12 attached abutment 15 jammed when the second long arm of the clamping lever 13 serving as the operating handle 16 is pivoted by closing the sail hand 17 of the surfer 5, which simultaneously engages around the boom 3 toward the latter. If the wind pressure is too high, i.e. if the surfer can no longer hold the rig, he releases the sail hand 17 from the boom 3, which releases the jamming of the trapezoid line 8 and can thus slip under the abutment 15. As a result, when the sail 4 is secured with the boom 3 and also when the rig is turned over, the trapeze line 8 cannot pull the surfer 5 away in a so-called whiplash without separately loosening the connection to the harness 6.

The free end lo of the trapezoid line 8 is connected to an elastic line 18 designed as an elastic band. This is guided to the end of the boom 3 remote from the mast 2, where it is deflected by a pulley 19 and is fastened to the opposite side of the boom 3 at 20. The elastic line 18 enables a spring-elastic extension of the trapezoid line 8, so that when the actuating handle 16 is released, the clamp lever 13 a length adjustment of the trapezoid line 8 is possible in the area between its one end 9 attached to the fork space 3 and the clamping device 11. This change in length can go so far that the same conditions exist as if the free end 1 o of the trapezoid line 8 slipped through the clamping device 11. By means of the elastic line 18 it is also achieved that the trapezoid line 8 does not then have to be threaded into the clamping device 11 again by hand.

The actuating handle 16 of the clamping lever 13 is, as can be seen from FIG. 2, designed as a curved, large-area plate, the curvature of which essentially corresponds to that of the boom 3, where appropriate additional finger depressions 21 can be provided, on the one hand, for the best possible grip of the sailing hand 17 to ensure and on the other hand to prevent that the operating handle 16 can cut into the sail hand 17. To the abutment 15 this plate is with a. Provide incision so that two fork arms forming the clamping arm 14 are formed, which can be pivoted on both sides of the sleeve 12 on a bearing axis 22.

In the modified embodiment of a clamping device 11 'according to FIG. 3, a sleeve 12' designed in the manner of a pipe clamp is attached to the boom 3, in whose flanges 23 projecting from the boom 3 a clamping lever 13 'is pivotally mounted about a bearing axis 22'. Between these Flanges 23 - directly adjacent to the boom 3 - an abutment 15 'is arranged, against which the trapezoid line 8 is pressed by a clamping jaw 14' provided with teeth 24 '. This jaw 14 'is formed between the bearing axis 22' and an operating handle 16 '. The clamping lever 13 'is thus designed as a one-armed lever. At the free end of the operating handle 16 ', the trapezoid line 8 is guided through it.

Instead of the elastic line 18 formed by an elastic band, the trapezoid line 8 can also be extended beyond its end lo, which is then wound on a spring cord. It is crucial that the trapeze line 8 can be pulled out by the surfer 5 relative to the boom 3 after loosening the clamping device 11 or 11 'and is retracted after the pulling force has been released.

Instead of the sleeve 12 or 12 'to be clamped onto the boom 3, a slide which can be moved along the boom 3 can also be provided, which is provided with a locking device which, when the clamping lever is pivoted, also automatically locks the boom in the respective longitudinal position on the boom 3 .

In addition, a clamping device can also be provided, which has a plurality of pin-like actuating handles protruding at a distance from the boom 3, whereby these can also be connected by a common plate, so that regardless of the desired position of the sailing hand, the trapezoid line is always clamped with an automatic one Release of the same can be achieved when releasing the sail hand.

The clamping device 11 or 11 'can be attached in any position on the circumference of the boom 3; it can in particular be attached so that the operating handle 16 or 16 'is gripped with the ball of the hand. Such an attachment has the advantage that even after loosening the clamping device 11 or 11 ', the fingers of the sail hand 17 grip around the boom 3.

Furthermore, the release of the clamping device 11 or 11 'should take place suddenly after releasing the actuating handle 16 or 16', so that the trapezoid line 8 is immediately free. This can be achieved, for example, by a spring which opens the operating handle 16 or 16 'after the sail hand 17 has been released.
