Definitions

  • the invention relates to a magazine for a handgun, with a feed spring and a feeder and a device for recognizing the filling status of the magazine.
  • Gun magazines are known in which there are essentially one or more slots or other openings in the wall over the entire length of the magazine, through which the user can determine the filling status before inserting the magazine into the weapon.
  • the slots are not visible after insertion.
  • a magazine with a slot is known from US-A-4,226,041.
  • the invention is based on the object, starting from the magazine described above, to create the possibility of being able to recognize the filling status of the magazine at any time even when the weapon is ready to fire.
  • This object was achieved according to the invention in that a display device responsive to the position of a part of the feeder spring lying at a distance from the feeder is provided at a position of the magazine which is visible when the weapon is ready to fire.
  • the advantage of the invention is that the shooter can see the filling status of the magazine by looking at the display device, which is also visible when the heap is ready to fire. Since the movement of a part of the feeder spring, which is at a distance from the feeder, is used for the display, the path that the part of the feeder spring takes when the feeder travels the path is the difference between the full and the corresponds to the empty magazine, smaller than the path of the feeder, and this opens up the possibility of making the display device very simple.
  • the display device is arranged in the vicinity of the bottom of the magazine, that is to say in the region of that end of the feeder spring which faces away from the feeder.
  • a turn of the feeder spring near the bottom of the magazine takes a much smaller path than the feeder.
  • the dependency described is linear, i.e. a turn of the feeder spring, which is calculated from the bottom of the magazine about a tenth of the length of the feeder spring, will travel a distance that is only ten percent of the travel of the feeder.
  • the described arrangement of the display device in the vicinity of the bottom of the magazine can, for example, ensure that the movement of the part of the magazine that is used between full and empty magazine is only about 1 to 2 cm.
  • the recess is at a location of the magazine that is visible when the weapon is ready to fire is provided, and a turn of the feed spring, which is at least in selected filling states in the visible area of the recess, is provided with an optically perceptible mark.
  • the recess is located near the bottom of the magazine.
  • connection between the visibility of the brand and the filling status of the magazine can be chosen as desired.
  • the arrangement can be such that the mark only becomes visible when the magazine contains only a predetermined minimum number of cartridges; in another example, on the other hand, the arrangement can be such that the mark disappears from the area of the recess if the minimum number of cartridges is undercut.
  • the position and size of the recess are dimensioned such that the winding provided with the mark is visible in all filling states. In this case, the location of the winding provided with the mark within the recess, which is caused by the compression of the feeder spring depending on the filling level, gives a measure of the filling level of the magazine.
  • the brand is a color brand.
  • One turn or only a half turn of the feed spring is therefore marked with a color that contrasts with the other turns.
  • This type of labeling is simple and eye-catching. The easiest way to mark is by painting the turn mentioned in color. If necessary, the color marking can be done using a phosphorescent color so that the level indicator is effective even at night without extraneous light.
  • the cutout is closed in a dustproof and moistureproof manner by a transparent cover. This prevents weapon malfunctions. Such a cover also helps to ensure that the color marking mentioned is not made unrecognizable by dirt.
  • a scale marking which interacts with the mark is provided in the area of the recess.
  • the scale marking makes it possible to immediately assess the filling status of the magazine without thinking.
  • the scale marking can be located in the region of the edge of the recess, but in the case of the transparent cover, this cover can preferably be the carrier of this scale marking.
  • This scale marking can also be made with phosphorescent paint.
  • a shaft is mounted in an opening in a wall of the magazine, which shaft has a pointer at its outer end and is in drive connection with its inner end region with a turn of the feed spring, such that when the said turn moves in the longitudinal direction the magazine swivels the shaft.
  • the shaft carries at its inner end a disk with a radial slot, into which a pin which is connected to the above-mentioned winding and engages.
  • the condition should generally exist that the path of the pin which it travels in the longitudinal direction is in any case smaller than the diameter of the disk, so that the pin cannot slide out of the slot and, when the pin reverses its motion, always rotates the shaft Torque is generated.
  • the advantage of the embodiment lies in its large size
  • the peg can be particularly flexibly supported in the magazine in that it is arranged on a guide piece inserted between two turns of the feed spring.
  • This guide piece can preferably essentially fill the cross section of the magazine, so that it is well secured against tilting and / or tilting and jamming.
  • the joining piece is securely guided in the longitudinal direction of the magazine by the two windings delimiting it forwards and backwards, without it having to be fastened to the spring by means of special connecting devices.
  • the opening through which the shaft runs is preferably sealed watertight.
  • the design of the magazine according to the invention does not require any changes to the weapon itself. Even with weapons in which the magazine Although it is inserted into the weapon, but with its end region supporting the feed spring protrudes far enough from the weapon so that the display device can be attached in this outstanding end region, no changes are necessary to the weapon itself.
  • the display device of the magazine is covered by other weapon parts, it is provided according to one embodiment of the invention that the weapon has a recess in the area of the display device of the magazine, which allows the view through. If appropriate, this recess can also be closed by a transparent cover. In the latter case, the application of a transparent cover to the magazine can prove to be superfluous.
  • the magazine 1 in the vicinity of its base 2, on which the feed spring 3 is supported, has a round recess 4 in the side wall facing the viewer, into which a transparent cover 5 is dust-proof and in the manner of a watch glass is blown moisture-proof.
  • the feeder spring 3 carries the feeder 6 at its free end in a known manner and above it are with the magazine at least partially filled
  • the feed spring 3 is designed in a known manner in the manner of a helical spring with a rectangular cross section.
  • a half turn which is in the area of the recess 4 both when the magazine is full (FIG. 1) and when the magazine is empty (FIG. 2), is marked differently (red) from the other parts of the feeder spring 3; this is shown in FIG Drawing indicated by a special type of hatching of this half-turn 3 '.
  • the cover 5 carries another symbolic scale mark 10 in the form of a "V" pointing upwards, which is a sensible indication that when the marked turn 3 'is in the area of the tip of this scale mark 10, the supply in the magazine is nearing its end.
  • the magazine 51 has a feed spring 53 and a feeder 56; a cartridge 58, on which the feeder 56 abuts with its side facing away from the feeder spring 53, is shown broken off.
  • the feeder spring 53 is arranged in the interior of the magazine 51, which is delimited by a bottom 52, a front wall 60, a rear wall 62 and by side walls 64 running at right angles thereto and by the feeder 56.
  • a flat depression 66 which extends in the longitudinal direction of the magazine and in which a guide section 68 of a guide piece is arranged.
  • the guide section 68 runs parallel to the plane of the rear wall 62 and is located at a distance from the two side walls 64.
  • the guide piece further includes a cross stick 70, which corresponds to the total height of the magazine corresponding to the length of the cartridge 58, which corresponds to the clear distance between the corresponds to both side walls 64 and occupies a plane which is substantially perpendicular to the plane of the side walls 64 and the front wall 60 and rear wall 62 and thus perpendicular to the plane of the guide section 68.
  • the end face of the part 70 facing the rear wall 62 lies at a close distance from the inner surface 72 of the rear wall 62.
  • the guide section 68 projects into the recess 66 and is therefore closer to the outside of the rear wall 62 than the end face 73 of the part 70.
  • the end face 76 of the part 70 has such a distance from the inner surface of the front wall 60 that a section 80 of the feeder spring 53 also passes between the end face 76 and the front wall 60 can.
  • the guide piece also includes a guide pin 84, the end face 86 of which faces the front wall 60 loosely abuts the inner surface 88 of the front wall 60, and whose other end face 90, which runs parallel to the end face 86, is at a distance from the end face 76 has, which is slightly larger than the wire thickness of the feed spring 53, so that the section 80 of the feed spring is seen from the front wall 60 behind the guide pin 84.
  • the guide pin 84 is integrally connected to the part 70 via a stem 94, the length of which is somewhat greater than the wire thickness of the feed spring 53.
  • the guide section 68 prevents the part 70 of the guide piece from changing and securing its position which is essentially parallel to the base 52 thus the functionality of the display device.
  • a circular opening 100 is provided in the front wall 60, into which a tubular shaft 102 is inserted from the inside, which is connected in one piece to a disk 107, which lies flat against the inner surface 88 of the front wall 60.
  • the disk 104 has a radially extending slot 106, in which the guide pin 84 engages. 3, for the sake of clarity, the slot 106 is shown in a rotational position in which its longitudinal direction runs parallel to the direction of displacement of the feeder 56. In fact, slot 106 never occupies such a position.
  • the shaft 102 has an inwardly projecting all-round locking lug 110 which engages behind the locking lugs 112 which are provided on resilient tongues 114 which are inserted into the shaft 102 and are produced in one piece with a display element 116 which is essentially in the form of a round one Has cap, which carries a radial groove 118 serving as a pointer.
  • the latching lugs 110 and 112 create a latching connection of the display element 116 with the pane 104.
  • an O-ring 120 was pushed onto the outside of the shaft 102, and an end face 122 of a flange-like projection 124, which is made in one piece with the display element 116 and presses against the shaft 102 in the radial direction, presses against it connects, so that a liquid-tight seal is created in this way, which prevents the ingress of water from the outside through the between the shaft 102 and the edge of the opening 100 into the interior of the magazine.
  • the section 80 of the feeder spring 53 and the section 130 of the feeder spring 53 immediately following it and running in the plane of the drawing in FIG. 3 also move.
  • the latter pushes Section 130 of the feed spring 53 ahead of the part 70 of the guide piece.
  • the guide piece is pushed back over the section 80 of the feeder spring 53 which bears against the stem 94.
  • the guide piece and thus also the pin 84 follow a movement of the feeder 56, but the distance covered by the pin 84 is considerably smaller than the distance covered by the feeder 56 because the turn of the feeder spring 53, which engages with the guide piece , located near the bottom 52. In the example, this is the third turn of the feeder spring, calculated from the bottom 52, with a total of 60 turns of the feeder spring.
  • the swivel angle which the disk 104 executes in the exemplary embodiment when the magazine is completely emptied starting from the full state is approximately 120 °.
