Definitions

  • the invention relates to a weft cutting device for weaving machines with at least one pair of scissors, and to the use of the device.
  • High-speed, defenseless weaving machines such as B. projectile weaving machines, water or air jet weaving machines and row shed weaving machines require a cutting device which carries out a cutting movement after each weft insertion. If weft threads from different weft thread bobbins are inserted in such weaving machines, scissors can be present for the weft threads of each individual weft thread bobbin. In particular, row shed machines require a cutter with a pair of scissors for each individual weft thread trace, and which cut movements in sequence.
  • French patent 1,468,156 describes a cutting nozzle with a suction device for defenseless weaving machines.
  • the weft thread is passed through two concentric tubes, which form the scissors and have a common lateral groove.
  • the cutting is done by twisting the two concentric tubes.
  • the remaining thread in the tube is drawn off.
  • Such a pair of scissors requires extremely high precision in the manufacture of the tubes, especially in the area of the grooves with the cutting edges which form the scissors.
  • Such scissors require cylindrical tubes for the scissors. The arrangement of several such scissors too.
  • a cutting device is structurally relatively complex and requires the movement of relatively large masses.
  • the scissors with suction shown in French patent 1,468,156 are only suitable for weft threads that are fed to the cutting device roughly cut to length.
  • the invention has for its object to provide a weft cutting device of the type defined, which is fast-working, has only a small mass, is simple in design and makes it possible to cut the thread length required for the weft insertion for each weft directly from the weft bobbin and to cut off.
  • This object is achieved according to the invention by the features specified in the characterizing part of claim 1.
  • the dependent claims 2 to 6 relate to advantageous embodiments of the invention.
  • Independent claim 7 relates to a particularly advantageous application of the weft thread cutting device.
  • a pair of scissors 1 according to FIG. 1 has a blow pipe 2, to which compressed air is continuously fed through a channel 3 in the wall of the cutting device.
  • the air enters the blow tube through a longitudinal slot 4 in the wall of the blow tube.
  • the blow pipe 2 guides a weft thread 5, which is sucked in by the blown air and fed via a (only partially drawn) guide channel 6 to a shed 7, for example a (also only partially drawn) weaving rotor 8.
  • the weaving rotor rotates in the direction of arrow 9. During the rotation of the weaving rotor, the weft thread 5 is pulled over the edge 10 of the blowpipe 2.
  • the blow pipe 2 is moved forward by a lever 11 and is guided with its mouth 12 into a bore 13 in a fixedly arranged cutting piece 14.
  • the weft thread 5 is cut.
  • a remaining piece of thread 5 ' is carried by the weaving rotor and later separated.
  • the lever 11 moves the blow tube back into the starting position of FIG. 1.
  • a tip 16 of the weft thread 5 is held by the air flowing through the blow tube and is conveyed forward into the guide channel 6 and to the weaving rotor 8 at the beginning of the new entry.
  • the cutting piece does not have to embrace the end of the blowpipe during the cutting process. It is sufficient if the end 12 of the blow pipe moves over the cutting edge 15. Furthermore, an embodiment is possible in which the cutting piece is movable with respect to the blow pipe, whereas the blow pipe is arranged stationary. An embodiment is also possible, wherein both the blow pipe and the cutting piece are movable with respect to one another.
  • scissors are described here with a view of a row shed weaving machine, they can also be used for other types of weaving machines, e.g. B. for rapier projectile weaving machines, generally where it is necessary to cut a weft thread without stopping it in its movement.
  • FIG. 4 shows a more practical embodiment of a pair of scissors.
  • a blow pipe 20 with a rectangular cross section is guided in a channel 21 with a rectangular cross section of a block 22.
  • block 22 there is a bore 23 for supplying blown air.
  • a channel 24 branches off from the bore 23 and opens at 24 ′ into a longitudinal slot 25 in the wall 26 of the channel 21.
  • the blow pipe has a cutting edge 20 'at its mouth.
  • a side wall 27 of the block 22 has a recess 28 which is delimited by a cutting piece 29 with a cutting edge 29 '.
  • An end 30 of Blower tube is located between two pins 31 and 32 of a cutting lever 33.
  • a weft thread 34 to be inserted is sucked in by the blown air which flows into the blower tube 20 from the channel 24 and fed to the weaving rotor through the blower tube via an entry device. If the weft thread is to be cut, it has emerged through the cutout 28 and is pulled by the weaving rotor over the cutting edge 29 'of the blowpipe. At the same time, the blow tube is moved forward by the cutting lever 34 and the weft thread is cut through by the cutting edges 20 'and 29'.
  • the scissors described can be assembled with several others to form a single cutting device. There are as many scissors as there are weft threads to be entered, e.g. B. four or six, depending on the design of the specialist organ, z. B. the web rotor. They are stacked on top of one another and held together by a plate 35.
