Claims (2)

1. Verfahren zur Entfernung von Gangstein von archäologischen Metallstücken, insbesondere von archäologischen Meeresfundstücken, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass man eine Behandlung des Stückes in einem wässrigen Bad durchführt, das 8 bis 40 g OH-/I Ionen enthält, unter kathodischer Polarisation, indem man dieses Stück während einer Zeit, die ausreicht um wenigstens eine teilweise Ablösung des Gangsteins im Verhältnis zu dem Stück zu erreichen, darin hält und dann das Stück aus dem Bad entfernt und das Gangstein vom Stück abtrennt.
2. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass man mit einem angelegten Strom von 0,1 bis 1 mA/cm2 arbeitet.
