Where k > 0.35, resulting molded articles are susceptible to considerable shrinkage. Thus, it is not preferred to use pre-foamed beads having such a high k value.

Therefore, molded articles obtained by molding the pre-foamed beads of this invention in a mold are excellent not only in rigidity and dimensional accuracy but also in heat resistance. Unlike molded articles of conventional pre-foamed beads of polyethylene-base resins, the above-obtained molded articles are free from such a danger that its dimensions would change under heat. Hence, the molded articles obtained from the pre-foamed beads of this invention can withstand even when used at elevated temperatures.

Claims (9)
- Perles pré-moussées de résine à base de polyéthylène, caractérisées en ce que la résine servant à former les perles pré-moussées est produite par réticulation d'une résine de départ à base de polyéthylène ayant une densité supérieure à 0,940 g/cm³ et que ces perles pré-moussées ont un degré de réticulation correspondant à une teneur en gel de 10 à 45%, telle que déterminée après vieillissement des perles pré-moussées à la pression atmosphérique et purge à l'air de l'agent soufflant contenu dans les perles pré-moussées, puis ébullition des perles pré-moussées dans du xylène à l'ébullition pour déterminer le pourcentage du poids de matières non dissoutes dans le xylène par rapport au poids des perles pré-moussées avant ébullition, et que ces perles pré-moussées ont un coefficient k de vitesse de diminution de la pression interne de 0,35 ou moins, tel que déterminé par l'équation suivante:

- Perles pré-moussées suivant la revendication 2, caractérisées en ce que la résine de départ à base de polyéthylène est un copolymère d'éthylène-propylène, un copolymère d'éthylène-butène ou un copolymère d'éthylène-pentène, qui contient de l'éthylène en une quantité d'au moins 95% en poids.
- Perles pré-moussées suivant la revendication 1, caractérisées en ce que la densité ρ de la résine de départ à base de polyéthylène satisfait à l'inégalité suivante:
0,940 g/cm³ <ρ ≦αµρ¨ 0,970 g/cm³. - Perles pré-moussées suivant la revendication 1, caractérisées en ce que la résine de départ à base de polyéthylène est sous forme de perles et que les perles pré-moussées sont obtenues par réticulation de la résine de départ à base de polyéthylène ressemblant à des perles et moussage de la résine de départ à base de polyéthylène ainsi réticulée.
- Perles pré-moussées suivant la revendication 5, caractérisées en ce que la réticulation de la résine de départ à base de polyéthylène ressemblant à des perles est effectuée par chargement de la résine de départ à base de polyéthylène ressemblant à des perles, d'un agent chimique de réticulation et d'un milieu de dispersion dans un récipient fermé et ensuite agitation du contenu à chaud.
- Perles pré-moussées suivant la revendication 5, caractérisées en ce que le moussage de la résine réticulée à base de polyéthylène ressemblant à des perles est effectuée par chargement de la résine réticulée à base de polyéthylène ressemblant à des perles, d'un agent de soufflage et d'un milieu de dispersion dans un récipient fermé, agitation du contenu à chaud, et ensuite décharge de la résine réticulée à base de polyéthylène ressemblant à des perles et du milieu de dispersion dans une atmosphère ayant une pression inférieure à la pression interne du récipient fermé.
- Perles pré-moussées suivant l'une quelconque des revendications 5 à 7, caractérisées en ce que, lorsqu'un agent chimique de réticulation est utilisé, la réticulation et le moussage de la résine de départ à base de polyéthylène ressemblant à des perles sont effectués dans le même récipient fermé.
- Perles pré-moussées suivant l'une quelconque des revendications 5 à 7, caractérisées en ce que, lorsqu'un agent chimique de réticulation est utilisé, la réticulation et le moussage de la résine de départ à base de polyéthylène ressemblant à des perles sont effectués dans des récipients fermés différents.
