Abstract
Description
This invention relates to an element for preventing growth medium such as soil or peat from running down on inclined surfaces, which element comprises a frame construction formed from side walls, wherein open openings remain between the side walls from above and below.
With the fillings formed on roads and ditches, in which lawn is grown, it is known to use various frame structures to prevent earth from running off the sloping slopes. At the moment, the mostly used constructions are put together from concrete parts. However, such concrete structures are heavy and they are relatively expensive.
This invention is intended to provide such a frame structure which is structurally lighter than that previously used. It is characteristic of the element according to the invention that the side walls are hollow and open from one edge and that the inner cavities of the side walls become wider towards the open edge of the side walls.
The element according to the invention is advantageously made of plastic, but is structurally very light and easy to handle. Because the walls of the frame construction are hollow and their outer surfaces are slanted, elements with relatively high walls can be stacked on top of one another so that their walls merge. The elements require very little space for storage and transportation. The elements made of plastic can easily be cut and sawn into parts of the desired sizes. For openings with standard sizes and shapes, it is possible to produce peat briquettes with the same sizes and shapes, the surface of the slope being very light can be completed.
- Fig. 1 ein erfindungsgemässes Element von oben gesehen,
- Fig. 2 einen Schnitt gemäss A-A in Fig. 1, und
- Fig. 3 das Element von vorne gesehen.
- 1 an element according to the invention seen from above,
- Fig. 2 shows a section along AA in Fig. 1, and
- Fig. 3 seen the element from the front.
The frame construction of the element is formed from side walls 1, between which
The side walls 1 are hollow and open from below. Their surfaces are inclined so that the cavity within them widens towards the lower part. The
The elements according to the invention can be produced from plastic. The walls 1 are approximately 10-12 cm high, for example. The surface of the hollow side walls can consist of a plastic layer which is only approx. 2 mm thick. Several elements can be stacked on top of one another in such a way that the side walls 1 go into one another, the elements taking up very little space. The elements are fastened to the slope with suitable fastening pins, several elements being arranged next to one another to form a continuous network structure. The adjacent elements can be connected to each other in such a way that the outermost side walls are adjusted one above the other. For this reason, two interconnected outermost side walls 1 'and 1 "are provided with openings 4. Through these openings, the walls of the adjoining element can pass, which are adapted from those within the walls 1' and 1" the outermost walls. The
The invention is not only limited to the embodiment described above, but it can be varied in different ways within the scope of the claims.
