The marginal edge portions 17 will contract about the ends of the body of coins and will bend over the end surfaces of the coin body e.g. 3 to 5 mm as shown in FIG. 3. As soon as this has taken place the heat radiation can be discontinued with the inter ⁇ mediate portion 18 intact.

Abstract

Procédé d'emballage d'un corps cylindrique solide (10) de pièces de monnaie qui sont disposées selon un alignement axial et qui sont en contact face à face. Une bande allongée (11) d'un film de matériau plastique est enveloppée autour du corps de pièces de monnaie, les parties de bord marginales (14) faisant saillie de chaque extrémité du corps de pièces de monnaie. Le film enveloppé autour du corps de pièces de monnaie est chauffé à une région localisée à chaque extrémité du corps de pièces de monnaie afin de se contracter sur les parties terminales du corps de pièces de monnaie. La présente invention concerne aussi un film de matériau plastique formant une bande allongée permettant de réaliser ledit procédé. Les parties de bord marginales (17) de la bande absorbent mieux la chaleur que la partie intermédiaire (18) de la bande lors du chauffage du film, tout comme lesdites parties marginales se contractent localement plus vite que la partie intermédiaire.
