Abstract
Description
There are currently two main types of straw chairs, the removable frame chair and the fixed frame chair. The traditional straw chair is the fixed frame chair in which the mulch covers the front, rear and side rails of the seat. In this traditional chair, the legs are joined by four crosspieces with a pin at each of their ends, pins which fit into the holes in the legs, forming a fixed frame with them. With this embodiment, the mulching must be carried out on the mounted chair, which requires, when the mulching is not carried out on the spot, transport of finished chair frames and chairs and, in all cases, maintaining stock of chairs of all models sold.
The chair with removable frame overcomes these last two drawbacks since the mulching can be carried out on the frame and that the same frame can adapt to several models of frames. However, in the removable frame chair, the frame has a seat belt with four crosspieces with studs, which, with the frame which itself comprises four assemblies, gives a total of twelve assemblies for the single part of the seat. In addition, due to the peripheral belt, the chair loses its traditional character.
The object of the present invention is to produce a chair of traditional character using an autonomous frame capable of being mulched independently of the frame and which is incorporated into the frame by a reduced number of assemblies.
According to the invention, the frame is a rigid frame assembled with each of the four feet by a tenon or pin fitting.
According to one embodiment, the directions of interlocking of the two tenons or journals of the rear corners and of the two tenons or journals of the front corners are perpendicular and, according to the preferred embodiment, the two tenons or journals of the rear corners fitting into the feet rear are directed transversely.
According to another embodiment, the nesting directions of the four studs or pins are parallel and, according to the preferred embodiment, the nesting direction is the longitudinal direction.
The rigid frame is preferably constituted by four traditional mulching crossmembers secured and held in relative positions by squaring elements.
These squaring elements could be aimed or fitted squares, the protrusion of the elements on the internal face of the mulch crosspieces not having to interfere with the mulching. To obtain better rigidity, the crosspieces are preferably connected by a complete rigid frame. According to a preferred embodiment, the fixing of the crosspieces to the frame is carried out by socket ment, in a groove made on the internal side of the cross member, of a wing of the reinforcing frame projecting laterally, the cross members preferably being held in place each by at least one transverse pin passing through coincident holes in the wings of the groove and the wing of the frame. The reinforcing frame can have any cross section and be produced by a flat profile, T-angle, etc. In the case of a frame made of flat profiles, the dishes can be applied against the internal faces of the sleepers and secured to said sleepers by screwing or pinning.
With the invention and due to the rigidity of the frame, we obtain a strengthening of the squares of the chair and a reduction in the risk of spreading the cross member from side to leveling out at the front of the rear foot. It is indeed this assembly which is the most subjected to the efforts in the use of the chair, when the user leans against or sometimes sways on the rear legs.
The invention also provides, with the appearance of a traditional-style straw chair, the advantages of the removable frame, the frame being able to be mulched without the frame and then being incorporated into frames of different models, which reduces the stock and storage volume. These advantages, associated with the limited number of assemblies which saves time during manufacture and reduces the cost of the frame, make it possible to reduce the cost price of the chair, the strength of which is nevertheless increased.

- of the frame according to the invention; figure 2
- is a perspective view of the mounted frame and
- Figure 3 is a detailed plan view of a corner of the frame.
In the drawings, 1 designates the rear mulch cross member which has two
The reference 8 designates the reinforcing frame which, in the illustrated embodiment, consists of four lengths of flat bars joined by welds at 9, with the corners of the frame cut so as not to protrude into the corners of interlocking. The reinforcing frame could also be made of cast or folded metal and the section be made up, over all or part of the length of the sides, by an angle iron, a T, etc. The
After assembly by interlocking of the
The invention solves the problem of reinforcing a removable frame mounted according to the rigid frame system without requiring machining, interlocking or additional assemblies in the legs or between the cross members constituting it. The invention uses the rigidity of a squareness of small section which can be housed in the vacuum remaining free at each angle of the mulching.
