Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a receiving device for towing antennas on watercraft, in particular on submarines, with the aid of which the antenna can be exposed, obtained and stored on board.
To record radio and sonar signals, for example, antennas are required, the length of which is more than 300 m and the actual length of the ship can be several times greater.
For antenna use, a towing antenna is therefore attached to a ship and towed through the water. However, this possibility of use has the considerable disadvantage that a submarine can only attach or detach the towing antenna in the exposed state with the help of others, whereby it is exposed to a considerable degree to combat and location by enemy ships. Furthermore, the preparation up to the use of the trailing antenna is very time and personnel consuming.
A long towing antenna can only be stored on board in the wound or folded state, whereby it is usually not possible to arrange the stowage facilities at the point of the ship where the launch is to take place. Care must also be taken to ensure that the antenna is not damaged in the area of the ship's propeller during launch and towing.
The invention has for its object to provide a receptacle for towing antennas on ships, which allows stowing on board and safe and safe deployment or retrieval of the towing antenna at any time, especially in submarines It should be possible to deploy and deploy it even when submerged, without the device significantly increasing the silhouette of the submarine. The object is achieved in that a receiving device for the trailing antenna is arranged at a suitable location within the outer skin of the watercraft and from this a trailing antenna guide tube extends to the rear or approximately to the propeller plane. In a preferred solution for submarines, the receiving device and essentially also the guide tube are provided between the outer skin or linings or decks to be counted towards the outer skin and the pressure body.
Further details emerge from the claims and from the description of the exemplary embodiments.
The actual silhouette of a submarine can be maintained by installing the towing antenna receiving drum, preferably in the front freely flooded space. This has the great advantage that there is neither an increase in driving resistance nor increased locability by other ships.
By installing a towing antenna guide tube in submarines between the pressure hull and cladding, the towing antenna is safely guided and can therefore reach its deployment point aft along the submarine body. This rear-side deployment location can be designed variably using different guide geometries of the trailing antenna guide tube. For example, this guide geometry allows the trailing antenna to run above a trailing antenna receiving drum, but then on its way aft through the trailing antenna guide tube to the keel is led and exits there into the free water.
If a trailing antenna receiving drum is arranged horizontally, it is possible to guide the trailing antenna laterally.
In addition to these advantages, the trailing antenna guide. pipe with another. It allows the installation of one or more of two oppositely working soft coated capstan heads. walking aid, which can move the trailing antenna axially by friction. In this way, the trailing antenna can be continuously and safely deployed or overtaken.
In addition to a rotatable drum, pot-like or similar containers into which the antenna can be placed in an orderly manner are also suitable as the receiving device.
In addition, a drivable pull wheel can be arranged in the course of the guide tube, around which the trailing antenna is guided at least once and absorbs the tensile forces of the towed antenna, so that the receiving device and the capstan heads are largely relieved of these forces.
The recording device disclosed in this way has the overall advantage that the submarine can be deployed or picked up at any time and almost safely, both in the submerged and in the submerged state.
Embodiments relating to submarines. are shown in simplified form in the drawings and are described in more detail below.

A take-up drum is shown in the drawings as the receiving device (2). However, there are also several coiling devices cooperating to receive long antennas and possibly other stowage devices such as rotatable receptacles or storage spaces, which can preferably be provided in submarines in flooded spaces of the outer ship or in diving cells.
The receiving device according to the invention is not limited to the arrangement in tow antennas of submarines, but is also suitable for receiving cables or cable-like, long, flexible bodies both for surface and underwater vehicles in civil and military use.
