Description

The invention relates to a folding step for rail vehicles according to the preamble of claim 1.

In the case of rail vehicles, especially those with a low vehicle floor and a heavily retracted car apron, there is only a very limited installation height and depth available for the folding step including the step recess cover and the drive linkage, and yet the step must be in the entry position to bridge the relatively large distance between the vehicle Extend the outer wall and platform far beyond the vehicle's external profile to ensure a comfortable and safe entry. If, in addition to a complicated folding and sliding mechanism, the step trough cover is swiveled down as a whole in a structurally simple manner around an axis of rotation arranged in the area of the floor leading edge, then one is familiar with the known folding steps (DE-A-2 423 467 , DE-A-2 245 085) rely on keeping a large part of the step recess volume free for the pivoting movement of the step recess cover and the movable step in the retracted state outside the actual step recess either below it or on the outside of the side of the car apron in a parallel to it to arrange a rotary-slide mechanism in a tilted position, which in addition to aerodynamic problems also arise with regard to the risk of contamination and, above all, icing.

The same applies to a known folding step of the type claimed according to the preamble of patent claim 1 (US-A-2951 454), in which the swivel range of the step recess cover extends beyond the vehicle outer profile and the step is formed by a pivotable part of the vehicle wall and in the retracted position Condition essentially lies next to the folded-up tread cover, such that it closes the tread recess to the outside and therefore has to be sealed separately and is subject to the risk of contamination and icing.

The invention has for its object to design a folding step of the type mentioned in such a way that it requires an extremely small installation volume in the retracted position and is to be accommodated completely within a spatially confined tread recess.

This object is achieved according to the invention by the folding step characterized in claim 1, in which the movable step is stowed in the retracted state in the space-saving swivel area of the step recess cover which is completely inside the step box, and increasingly moves out of the swivel area when moving into the entry position and the step recess cover at the same time with the help of an appropriate kinematic control linkage, it is turned freely from its lock into the swivel position that releases the kick box, which guarantees an extremely simple and compact design and makes the folding step according to the invention particularly suitable for modern passenger coaches, which due to the low floor level and the heavily retracted apron only allow very small step box dimensions and generally require a single-stage folding step that can be extended far beyond the carriage profile, with the special feature that i n the vehicle wall - in addition to the vehicle door - no further movable wall part is required, which has to be specially sealed, and the entire step is completely retracted into the kick box and behind the vehicle door forming the outer step recess and thereby in a simple, effective manner against contamination - or danger of icing is protected.

A further improved space utilization of the step box is achieved according to claim 2 in that the step is tilted back from the entry position into a diagonally reaching through the step box with the help of a rotary-sliding mechanism, so that both the height and the depth of the step box are smaller than the tread width the step can be held.

A further structural simplification is expediently achieved in accordance with claim 3 in that the step recess cover forms a closing web for the movable step in the entry position and at the same time secures it against tipping over under load. Finally, according to claim 4, the drive for both the step trough cover and the step is carried out by means of a single piston-cylinder unit fastened to the step box without joints and a control linkage consisting of a few individual parts, thereby further reducing the space requirement and the construction costs of the folding step according to the invention.

  • Fig. 2 den Klapptritt in der Einstiegsposition.
The invention will now be explained in more detail using an exemplary embodiment in conjunction with the drawings. It shows:
  • Figure 1 is a highly schematic sectional view of the folding step in the retracted state. and
  • Fig. 2 the folding step in the entry position.

The single-stage folding step 2 contains a step recess cover 6 coated on the upper side with the floor covering 4, which in the folded-up state (FIG. 1) forms a walkable step extension which adjoins the vehicle floor 8 and closes the step recess 12 which is delimited by the step box 10, so that the gap between the tread edge 14 and the closed pivoting sliding door 16 of the vehicle is bridged essentially without a gap. The trough cover 6 is arranged about a pivot axis A running in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle over a pivoting range A of about 90 ° into a vertical entry position (FIG. 2) via pivot pins 18 arranged on both sides and slightly offset from the floor leading edge 14 pivoted below, the drive by a z. B. pneumatic piston-cylinder unit 20, which is rigidly attached to a narrow, in the middle between the side walls 21 of the step box 10 arranged step box extension 22 and the piston rod 24 via a hinge axis 26 and several, distributed in the vehicle longitudinal direction, intermediate link 28 and corresponding pivot 30 is drivingly connected to the step recess cover 6.

In the retracted state (FIG. 1), the movable step 32 is tilted up into an inclined position in which it is arranged below the step recess cover 6 in its swivel area A and passes through the step box 10 essentially diagonally in the direction of its greatest length dimension, as seen in cross section, so that the step 32 can be made very long, in the horizontal entry position (Fig. 2), in which it is at an approximately medium height level between the upper edge of the floor and the upper edge of the platform B, a continuous, from the trough 12 below Bridging the relatively large distance between heavily retracted wagon apron 34 and platform front edge to form a step surface extending beyond the vehicle outer profile and thereby to ensure a safe entry.

The control of the movable step 32, the. is provided on its upper side with a tread-resistant covering 36, between its advanced, horizontal entry position and the retracted and tilted retracted position results in a rotary and sliding mechanism, designated overall by 38, which has a curved control link in the form of U-bolts attached to the side walls 21 of the step box 10 Rails 40, in which the step 32 is guided over rollers 42, and contains a double lever 44 which is pivotally mounted on the step box 10 about an axis of rotation 46 running in the longitudinal direction of the carriage. The one, designed as a toggle lever arm 48 is articulated on the movable step 32 via a pivot point 50, which is offset relative to the guide rollers 42 to the rear step end, so that the step 32 when the lever 44 is rotated and under the control of the link guide 40, 42 forcibly executes the aforementioned combined rotary / sliding movement. The lever 44 is also driven by the piston-cylinder unit 20, and for this purpose the second lever arm 52 of the double lever 44 is connected to the articulation axis 26 on the piston rod side and contains a telescopic connection 54 acting in the longitudinal direction of the lever and shown schematically in FIG the pivot points 26 and 46 compensates for changes in distance occurring during the piston rod stroke.

The rotary-slide mechanism 38 and in particular its link guide 40 are designed so that the step 32 performs an increased rotary movement when extending in the initial phase, so that the trough cover 6 swivels undisturbed in synchronism with the extending movement of the step 32 via the pivoting range A down to the entry position can, in which its end edge lies just above the rear end portion of the step 32 (Fig. 2), so that it forms a vertical step end web and an additional safeguard against tipping over the step 32 under load.

The trough cover 6 and especially the step 32 can be biased into the driving position (FIG. 1) by springs (not shown) in order to prevent disturbing vibrations and noise phenomena while driving, and are limited in their end positions by stops (also not shown) which are fixed to the kick box. An electro-pneumatic control assigned to the drive cylinder 20, triggered by limit switches, ensures that the folding step 2 is only extended when the door 16 is fully open and is completely returned to the driving position before the door 16 is closed.
