Central heating and cooking range having a hopper (8) and at least one shaft (19) downstream thereof in the flue gas current, an internal heat exchanger (17) being accommodated in said shaft (19), whilst the entry of the flue gas into the internal heat exchanger (17) and into a discharge opening (18) leading directly to the chimney or to an external heat exchanger can be closed off wholly or partially by means of a regulating member (21, 23), characterised in that, between the hopper (8) and the internal heat exchanger (17) there is provided an intermediate shaft (9) serving to guide the flue gases upward and connected, through a lower outlet (16), to the hopper (8), the discharge opening (18) being closed off from the intermediate shaft (29, 30) and the regulating member (21, 23) being a pivotally mounted regulating flap (21) which has a closure . side wall (23) on its edge adjacent the discharge opening (18), all this being arranged so that the closure side wall (23) opens up the direct path for flue gas into the discharge opening (18) more and more, as the regulating flap (21) closes off the entry of flue gas into the internal heat exchanger (17).

Central heating and cooking range according to claim 1, characterised in that the internal heat exchanger (17) and the discharge channel located below the discharge opening (18) are mounted in a shaft (10) parallel to the hopper (8) and both open into a lower, horizontally extending outflow channel (24).
3. Central heating and cooking range according to one of claims 1 and 2, characterised in that the regulating member (21, 23) is actuated by a positioning member via a controller which adjusts the degree of opening of the regulating member (21, 23) as a function of the flue gas temperature prevailing in the chimney in order to keep the flue gas temperature in the chimney constant within a certain range.
