Definitions
- the present invention relates to dobby and other weaving mechanics and it relates more particularly to the devices associated with machines of this type for the automatic search for pitch.
- the present invention relates to pitch search devices whose clutch mechanism is of the type described in French patent application No. 78.16964 filed May 31, 1978 in the name of the Applicant. It will be indicated that in such a device, the clutch mechanism comprises a sliding member linked angularly to the shaft of the dobby and provided laterally with two opposite series of teeth. own dog clutch, by means of axial sliding of said member under the effect of a tilting fork controlled by a cam driven in rotation by the auxiliary motor, to selectively cooperate with one or the other of two corresponding toothed plates.
- One of these plates is integral in rotation with the shaft of the loom, the other with the output shaft of the reduction gear associated with the aforementioned auxiliary motor, so that depending on the axial position of the wandering member, the dobby shaft is driven either by the loom or by said auxiliary motor.
- electrical and mechanical means are advantageously provided so that the drive of the dobby by the auxiliary motor automatically stops after each revolution of the dobby shaft during the search for the pitch, so that this search takes place in turn in one or other of the two directions of rotation of the aforementioned shaft.
- the improvements which are the subject of the present invention therefore aim to provide the search devices of the pitch of the particular type referred to above, with an arrangement suitable for allowing the slow training, when desired, of the dobby and the profession by the motor of said device.
- the invention consists first of all in ensuring the angular connection between the wandering member of the dog clutch and the output wheel of the reduction mechanism associated with the auxiliary motor, using a clutch capable of being controlled independently of the sliding member itself so that it, while remaining at the axial position for which it operates the connection between the loom and the dobby shaft, remains capable of being driven by the auxiliary motor through the above-mentioned clutch.
- the device is made to simultaneously comprise means capable of annihilating the action of the control fork of the wandering member on the latter despite the operation of the auxiliary motor, so that the slow speed drive of the loom and the dobby is not disturbed by the movement imparted to said fork by the cam linked to the auxiliary motor.
- the clutch mechanism and the annihilation means are both electrically controlled so that they can be implemented using appropriate circuits, at the 'against suitably arranged elastic return means.
- the entire device shown in fig. 1 is mounted between two vertical flanges 1 assembled transversely to one another by the shaft and axis of the reducing mechanism of said device.
- This reduction mechanism comprises a bevel gear 2 fixed on the output shaft 3 of an electric motor shown diagrammatically in 4.
- the gear 2 meshes with a toothed wheel 5 whose hub is provided with a toothing 5a which meshes with a second wheel 6.
- the latter is wedged on a shaft 7 which carries at its opposite end a pinion 8 engaged with a third wheel 9. It will be appreciated that this gives a very significant reduction in the movement provided by the motor 4.
- the fixed axis 10 which supports the wheels 5 and 9 is notched to allow the articulated mounting of the upper end of a rocking lever 11 subjected to the action of a spring 12 so as to maintain an idler roller 13, carried by said lever, in contact with a cam 14 provided against the side wall of the third wheel 9 of the reduction mechanism described above.
- the lower end of this lever is coupled to the upper part of a fork 16 provided with two lateral bosses 16a which ensure its articulated mounting on two fixed walls 17 laterally closing the space defined by the flanges 1.
- the coupling of the lever 11 and the fork 16 is effected by means of a horizontal axis or dowel 18 slidably inserted in perforations made in alignment in the upper part of said fork and in the thinned lower end of the lever cited above.
- This stud 18 is biased by a spring 19 which tends to engage it in the aforementioned perforations but it is on the other hand made integral with the movable core of an electromagnet 20 carried by the fork 16. It will be understood under these conditions that when the electromagnet 20 is energized, the stud 18 retracts so that the fork 16 is then separated from the lever 11 which can thus tilt independently of said fork around its axis 15 while the latter remains articulated around its bosses or pivots 16a.
- a button is provided opposite the upper part of the fork 16, which is intended for the axial control of the sliding member of a clutch mechanism described below.
- pusher 21 (fig. 1) fixed against one of the flanges 1 and suitably connected to the electrical supply circuit of the motor 4, as will be seen below.
- This push button 21 is arranged so that its movable member is controlled when the above-mentioned circuit is closed when the fork 16, then linked to the lever 11, switches under the effect imparted to the latter by the action of the cam 14 on the roller 13.
- the clutch mechanism controlled by the fork 16 is carried by a sleeve 22 made axially and angularly integral, as will be seen below, with a shaft 23 which traverses it right through and which ensures the entry of the movement in the dobby.
- a sliding member or ring 24 On the outer wall of the sleeve 22 is keyed a sliding member or ring 24 which is thus driven in rotation with said sleeve 22 while however being free to slide axially thereon.
- the control of this axial sliding is operated by the aforementioned fork 16, each of the two branches 16b (fig. 2) is provided with a shoe 25 engaged in a groove 24a of the ring 24.
- a spring 26 which, bearing against an annular stop 27 of the sleeve 22 tends to push said ring to the left in FIG. l.
- the left end of this ring 24 is open and carries a series of teeth 24b oriented longitudinally so as to come into engagement under the effect of the spring 26 with the corresponding teeth of a lateral plate 28a secured to a tubular shaft 28
- This shaft 28 turns freely around the tree 23 (called “dobby tree") and its end which protrudes beyond the corresponding flange 1 carries a pulley 29 which a belt or chain 30 connects to the loom, so that this tree 28 can be called “tree of the trade”.
- the sleeve 22 slidingly supports a sleeve 31 which is keyed to it and which has an annular shoulder 31a, which forms a support on the one hand for an elastic washer of Belleville type 32, on the other hand for a bearing 33.
- the latter is introduced into the axial opening of a toothed wheel 34, the toothing of which meshes with the third toothed wheel 9 of the reduction mechanism.
- a ring 35 and a flange 36 connected to each other by screws such as 37, force the toothed wheel 34 to move axially with the bearing 33 and the bush 31.
- the ring 35 integral in rotation with the wheel 34 is provided with spacers 35a oriented axially and arranged in the manner of a comb to ensure the retention of a first series of sliding discs 38, spaced from one another in order to allow the insertion of a second series of sliding discs referenced 39, the assembly of the assembly being similar to that of a clutch device with multiple discs.
- the discs 39 are keyed onto the sleeve 22 and they are crossed by springs 40 which bear against the bearing 33 and against a second ring 41 keyed onto the sleeve 22.
- the toothed wheel 34 and the clutch device 38-39 are mounted in an opening made in one of the flanges l, which opening receives a small cup-shaped cover 42, fixed in place with screws such as 43.
- a coil 44 In this cover 42 is housed a coil 44, arranged so that its current supply ensures the attraction of a plate 45 against springs 46.
- a thrust ball bearing or similar piece 47 Between this plate 45 and the ring 41 above mentioned is interposed a thrust ball bearing or similar piece 47, slidably carried by the sleeve 22.
- a switch 50 As shown, on the general supply 49 is connected in bypass winding 44 controlled by a switch 50.
- This supply 49 results in a switch 51 suitable for selectively connecting to said supply 38 one or the other of two circuits 52 and 53, which are joined to each other at a reversing switch 54 which controls the motor 4 in one or the other of the two directions of rotation.
- the circuit 52 (which as will be seen below corresponds to the search for the step) is interrupted by the push button 21 associated with the fork 16, it being noted that this push button 21 is capable of '' be short-circuited by a second push button 55 with manual actuation.
- circuit 53 corresponding to the general slow speed drive, simply supplies the electromagnet by bypass. 20 associated with the retractable pin 18 which ensures the coupling of the lever 11 and the fork 16; an additional contact 51a of the switch 51 avoids any interference between the two circuits 52 and 53 downstream of the electromagnet 20.
- fig. 4 illustrates the transmission of the movement during normal operation of the craft-dobby assembly.
- the spring 26 ensures the interlocking of the teeth 24b and of the plate 28a, so that the rotational movement of the shaft 28 driven by the loom is transmitted by the ring 24 to the sleeve 22 and to the shaft of the dobby 23 which is driven in synchronism.
- the main switch 51 is in the neutral position shown in FIG. 7 so that the motor 4 receives no current; on the other hand, the operator took care to operate the switch 50 when closing, so that the winding 44 is energized and attracts the plate 45 against the spring 46.
- the discs 38 and 39 are therefore not tight against each other so that they do not transmit movement to the assembly formed by the motor 4 and its reducer.
- the operator When, after stopping the loom, the operator intends to proceed with the search for the turn-by-turn step, he operates the main switch 51 so as to supply the circuit 52, the switch 50 being kept in the closed position. After having acted on the reversing switch 54 as a function of the desired drive direction (forward or reverse), he presses the push button 55 so as to supply the motor 4 momentarily, this supply being effected through the button push button 21 once the push button 55 has been released.
- the main switch 51 of so as to supply the circuit 53 of fig. 7; the switch 50 is open while the reversing switch 54 has been operated according to the desired drive direction, as in the case of FIG. 5 corresponding to the search for the step.
- the electrical control members 50, 51, 55 and 54 are advantageously grouped on a common desk. It goes without saying that the switch 50 is preferably arranged to be automatically actuated on closing when the main switch is brought to the position for which it supplies the circuit 52.
- winding 44 is capable of being replaced by a jack or other thrust mechanism with pneumatic or hydraulic actuation, the motor circuit of which is placed under the dependence of an electrical member similar to the switch 50. It can be besides imagine a clutch mechanism different from that with multiple discs 38-39 which was illustrated above.
