Claims (4)

1. Procédé pour envelopper une pile de ballots avec plusieurs enroulements d'une bande continue de feuille extensible, posés en particulier en forme d'hélice, bande qui, à partir d'un rouleau d'alimentation (7), est guidée sur la périphérie de la pile de ballots (12) en passant sur un second rouleau (11) et en subissant une extension produite par freinage du rouleau d'alimentation (7), la bande continue étant entraînée par le second rouleau commandé (11) à une vitesse circonférentielle qui est plus élevée que la vitesse circonférentielle moyenne de la pile de ballots, caractérisé en ce que la vitesse d'étirage de la feuille entre le rouleau d'alimentation (7) et le second rouleau (11) ne dépasse pas 100 %/0,1 s environ.
2. Procède selon la revendication 1, caractérisé en ce que la durée de parcours de la feuille entre le rouleau d'alimentation (7) et le second rouleau (11) est d'au moins 0,1 s environ.
3. Procédé selon la revendication 1 ou 2, caractérisé en ce que la distance parcourue par la feuille entre le rouleau d'alimentation (7) et le second rouleau (11) n'est pas inférieure à 15 cm environ.
4. Procédé selon l'une quelconque des revendications 1 à 3, caractérisé en ce que la latitude d'une contraction transversale d'au moins 10 % environ est laissée à la bande continue pendant son étirage.
